The video linked is one of the cutscenes from the first game when Peter goes up against several villains at once, and its pretty damn brutal.

I’ll let you discover the joy of this scene for yourself, but if you wanna hear this guy scream in pain a lot more, definitely go check out some more gameplay (I basically spent the last two days combing thru 15-hour long playthroughs to get to the juicy bits).

I think that these games are the most whump that spider-man gets in any digital medium. I'm not a big comic person, but I know they get up to some pretty heinous stuff in those, so the games might be topped by the comics. Maybe.

Summary:

He's supposed to be getting better.

Nearly a year after the defeat of Venom, the original Spider-Man is still on hiatus. Peter's in therapy, working a steady job at Queens Community College, and spending his free time between F.E.A.S.T. and the Emily-May Foundation. On paper, things look good. Miles is holding down the city as Spider-Man, MJ is finally getting the recognition she deserves, and Peter is slowly piecing his life back together.

But Peter Parker is falling apart.

With Miles preparing to leave for MIT in the fall, Peter has one month to get it together—to manage the panic attacks, the PTSD, the weight he can’t name. One more month, then he’ll be what everyone needs him to be again.

But the one thing that made him feel like he mattered—Spider-Man—is the one thing he can’t bear to be.

And in the shadows, something—someone—is waiting for him to break.

This is the beginning of a four-part series that takes place one year after the events of the second game. Each part will focus on a different season, a different antagonist, and a different way that Peter has to face his past. And, of course, plenty of hurt/comfort/whump. Enjoy!
