Watching this scene back now and really focusing on Tony’s facial expressions during this reunion hits differently.

Like, not only does this scene confirm their father-son dynamic, but you can really see the stages in Tony’s grief for Peter:

Nowadays they’ll believe anything

Quintin “Mysterio” Beck really out here having some of the best lines in Spiderman: Far From Home.

“Nowadays they’ll believe in anything”

“Don’t ever apologize for being the smartest one in the room”

“I don’t think you know what’s real. Peter”

“Nowadays they’ll believe in anything” That’s the line I want to talk about. Obviously, belief and trickery was a large part of far from home. This line applies to us too, at least to myself.

I had read about Mysterio, I was waiting for him to stab Peter in the back. but At that moment where Quintin received E.D.I.T.H from Peter at the bar. That scene drew different emotions completely. When Quintin puts on the glasses he looks like Stark, channels RDJ. Logically, the actors don’t look that similar but the scene makes you feel like they are the same person. At that moment, I felt “Maybe he could be a hero” Even if it was only in that moment, Quintin had me hook, line and sinker. I believed Mysterio was an up and coming hero, someone Peter Parker could share his burden with, forge a friendship and take down bad guys. 

Because nowadays, they’ll believe in anything. I’ll believe anything, if it means getting another hero like Tony Starks. Peter will believe anything, if it means not carrying this burden alone. The public will believe anything, if it means their hero is still a hero.

159 days

(159 days since I made a post on this account, 159 days since I had any muse for Peter or him making his presence known. 

Finally it’s happening. Peter’s muse is starting to rear it’s head and I’m desperately holding onto it. I’m watching civil war currently for the start of a marvel binge and ceasing conversation about DnD for now.

To those who messaged me during this time, @notgonnabesubtle and many others. Thank you so much, I’m sorry you never got a message back. I had always hoped if I just waited a little longer, a week, a month, whatever it would take. That I could come back and tell you the good news that I’m coming back to this blog.

Life is tough, but school is online so I have a bit more free time. Hopefully Peter will come around and I can finally come back. I miss you all dearly)

Things I would have changed in Far From Home

(Nothing it’s perfect ... no, but really though here they are.

The scene at the end with Peter, Happy and May: It felt odd to have the romance and then throw it away like that. I would have handled most of Happy and May’s relationship differently so scrapping that scene but doing something similar is an obvious choice to me. The scene instead should have played the same, with peter voice over talking about deceit and everything is the same but when it comes to asking if they were dating. Peter says “I am Spiderman” and it pans over to Morgan on a couch playing, she looks over to Peter confused before smiling “Duh silly!” And Peter smiles and pats her head before saying he has to go on a date {like the actual scene} He waves bye to Pepper who is in the living room talking with May May’s status from the snap: I would have had May stay. Obviously, there is the angst from having to live without her nephew, the added angst for Stark of someone having to tell May they lost Peter. Where having her stay really would have shined is if they wanted May and Happy’s relationship to flow better and last. It’s easy to imagine that Stark had Happy check on May occasionally over the 5 years and the duo grew closer. instead, it came out of nowhere and ended just as abruptly.

The porn joke: Listen, I’ll let the “My dick is a webshooter” slide but I really didn’t need the “bought porn in Berlin after the civil war” like I didn’t want it, didn’t need it. The first time I watched it I thought Happy was saying Peter accidentally rented the porn and then happy found out and he got embarrassed. Which would honestly be my canon so there is that

Also, Marvel, have them call is Spidey sense just once please, I beg of you. I love the Peter tingle joke but I really was holding out for him to say Spidey sense during the end fight)
