I've been reading a lot of Craig Thompson's work in my down time these days and it has inspired me to go outside and try and draw some more from life! I really enjoyed this, it felt like a nice meditation in a way.

candy was great after reading meat just for knowing that rose got to live a happy life

yes!! and like seeing how that would play out and how she could be content in that world. I just think candy was good as like a pairing to meat, u gotta read both basically

I know people were upset with candy but It was the bad end, like it was meant to not. feel. good. I think candy was actually really enjoyable if u read meat first as you could see how it subverts some of the most important emotional pay off that you get from meat in the beginning in a way that makes sense for the characters, also in a way that makes sense when youre reading meat like you can see how those things would/could happen. also further into candy there are meaningful emotional payoffs and character explorations. i think Dave and karkats arcs in that route are very important for understanding their characters. I dunno unpopular opinion but I liked the epilogue I guess, it was still silly like homestuck always has been, but also treated it's characters with some real care at moments
