Hello, this is where Rielin and I will post our original stories! We usually write Elsword Fanfictions But we're both in the writing hobby so we made this sideblog to post our original stories! We hope you enjoy them! Our stories.
Tick tock... Time stops. Tick tock... Time starts. Tick tock... Time’s up.
Hello! Nothing much to say except that this is the background information on the oneshot, Time’s Up! Hopefully this will clear up any confusion on it since it is rather vague and short~
Main Characters
Lilith. Little girl, age 5. Sister of Jin. Soft curls, brown hair. Died in an accident.
Jin. Boy, age 18. Brother of Lilith. Brown hair. Main protagonist in this story.
Plot
Story begins one week after Lilith’s death, which happened on Christmas, December 25th.
At the start, Jin is standing beside his little sister’s coffin, holding a stopwatch and waiting for 12pm noon, aka the time of rewind.
At exactly 12 pm, he has the chance to rewind back in time by pressing the button at the top of the stopwatch. It brings him mentally and physically to the day of Lilith’s death.
This is a chance for him to prevent Lilith’s death.
However, he fails and he has to watch Lilith die over and over again.
He has to witness her funeral over and over again, waiting for 12:00 pm again for another chance.
Additional Facts
He has tried over 134 times, meaning he has watched his sister’s death and funeral 134 times.
134 times has ruined his mental state, however I didn’t explain it in the story. He has basically gone unstable, believing that no matter how many tries it takes he can save Lilith.
Rewinding time so much has caused a spatial distortion. Because he failed the first time, it is no longer possible to save Lilith because of the distortion in time.
He will continue to rewind time for eternity, unable to age and move on, because he has lost his mental stability and is stuck in a loop of false hope for saving his sister.
This also affects everyone in the church that’s at Lilith’s funeral, so Jin has dragged everyone into the distortion.
TIme is moving normally for everyone outside of the Church, but the Church is no longer visible nor in the same dimension of everyone else. It is basically stuck in a rift.
I don’t know where he got the stopwatch ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) All I know is he got it somewhere between the time within the week between his sister’s actual death and then her funeral.
Tick tock... Time stops. Tick tock... Time starts. Tick tock... Time’s up.
Tick... tock…
He stands before a casket. Linen sheets of pure white cushion the girl who lays within it, her skin as pale as snow. A lace veil is placed upon her face, slipping down her shadowed cheeks and covering her baggy eyes. Dressed in a white gown, her hands are folded atop her stomach. She does not move. She does not breath. It is solemn and tense within the chapel, several others donned in black surrounding the casket.
Tick… tock…
A tear falls. And then another. And soon enough, the women beside the male begins to sob, her cries racketing her body as she desperately buries her face within her hand. The tears are endless. No matter how much she wipes them away, they just keep on coming. Another older gentlemen steps forward, wrapping a firm arm around the women, his eyes casted down in silent sorrow. The cries of the lady tempt others to join her, their hands tightening into fists. Within that casket was the weeping woman's daughter, a daughter who no longer exists.
“Sarah… Don’t you worry. Our baby girl is strong… She’s heading to a better place…” The husband murmurs softly, gently massaging her shoulders.
But the message isn’t comforting enough. Perhaps it’s because of the broken voice, or the broken expression that shadows everything he says. Jin still doesn’t understand it, and he’s seen his father and mother in this state much more than he should’ve. Jin hasn’t shed a tear, hasn’t spoken a word, hasn’t moved a muscle. Even though the one who lays motionless before him is his own little sister, Lilith.
Tick.. tock…
How many times has he been through this? He doesn’t know, he’s lost count. Reaching a hand into his pocket, Jin slowly pulls out a silver stopwatch, intricate markings engraved onto the surface. Expertly, he flips it open, the black roman numerals telling him the time. 11:58 am. Only two more minutes.
“Jin! What do you think you’re doing, pulling out a watch at your sister’s funeral?” The husband is now fuming, his grey eyes sharp.
Jin however does not reply to his father, eyes dazedly watching as the tiny hand continues to tick with each second.
“Have you no shame my son?! Lilith is dead! Do you think time is more important than your own sister’s funeral!?” Now it’s Sarah, his mother, who is screaming. Her voices cracks into sobs with every word, fresh tears still flowing down her flushed cheeks, dripping onto the crystal floors.
Yet again, Jin does not say a word, watching as the minute hands moves to 11:59 am. Only one more minute.
“Listen to your mother, Jin! Is Lilith’s funeral nothing more but an event in your life? You don’t care that she’s dead?! Jin, she is your little sister! You can’t just- you can’t just-!” Now his father was breaking into tears, frustration evident in his voice as he held Sarah, who was beginning to shake uncontrollably.
How many times have I gone through this, I wonder?
Jin doesn’t have time to answer his own thought, his eyes lighting up as the hand moves once more. 12:00 pm. It was time. Suddenly, his surroundings begin to rush by him, the crying faces of his mother and father turning into a blur as vivid flashes fly past. Hastily pressing the button a top the stopwatch, Jin takes one last good look at his sister’s peaceful expression, a more vibrant determination setting fire within his heart. It doesn’t take long until Lilith too turns into a blur, everything around him becoming gray and vacant. Shutting his eyes close, he waits, listening for the sounds of that one fateful day.
It does not take long, the noise of a chattering crowd and rushing cars echoing into his ear. He hears the traffic lights, the engines of the cars, and the shuffling of feet through the snow. Snapping his eyes open, Jin takes in a very familiar scenery. Ashen snows flutters down from the sky, clustering into blobs on the ground as other people shuffle through it The signature roads of New York city stand before him, as always bustling with traffic and people. Hanging atop the light poles that stand tall along the sidewalks are Christmas decorations that glow with the colors of red and green. The day he now stands in was Christmas, December 25th, one week before his sister’s funeral.
There is not much time when his eyes glance down uneasily to his stopwatch, 6:45 pm standing out clearly to him. Without a missing a beat, Jin begins running, pushing through the mobs of people as his breath comes out in icy puffs. Rockefeller Center is right before his eyes, and he knows who's waiting there for him. Lilith was. Ignoring the cries and angry remarks from the congestion, Jin does not slow down, shoving everything and anything out of his way as he continues on forward. By now, his breathing was hoarse and unstable, his feet aching from the pain and cold of running through snow.
“Lilith! Lilith where are you?!” His shout comes out cracked and broken, but it doesn't faze him, continuing to call out his sister’s name.
He could almost see Lilith’s tender smiles, her tiny five year old hands reaching for him to pick her up, pick her up so that she could see the Rockefeller Christmas Tree in all its glory. The image strengthens his resolve and now he’s busting through, watching as the tree within the distance grows bigger with each passing second.
“Jin?” He hears her shout from within the distance, the sound being so oddly reassuring and warm that he begins to slow down when he sees her tiny hand waving excitedly.
She’s safe. She’s breathing. She’s moving. And most importantly, she’s alive. He almost breaks down right then and there. But he can’t. Not yet. Not until she’s in his arms looking up at the tree in wonder. Suddenly, her small little feet begin running towards him, her short brown hair fluttering behind her. She’s crossing the street... She’s crossing the street…
She’s crossing the street.
“Lilith, no!” His cry of anguish comes out too slow and from the corner of his eyes, he sees it, a truck.
He had to run to her. He had to save her. But his feet felt like lead as he lifted them up. Lilith doesn’t see the danger. His parents who had stood beside her didn’t see the danger. Only he did. Time seemed to slow down for him and Lilith, yet it didn’t for the truck. It kept on coming, kept on speeding up, kept on bringing absolute fear. The collision was a blur to Jin, his eyes widening as Lilith’s little body was sent tumbling into the air, the color of crimson staining his vision. In that one moment, time went back to normal, his little sister’s body falling lifelessly to the ground as his legs pounded viciously into the ground, desperately trying to get to her. Just as she was in reach, just as his hands touched her sleeve, it was over. Time was up.
Violently, a burst of wind came flying forth, pushing him back. The ticking of his stopwatch became louder as his surroundings became a hazy mess, his sense of direction disappearing with it.
“No! No, please. Please!” Screaming, he tried once more to reach for his sister but to no avail.
The wind dissipated as quickly as it had came. In a second, he was back, back within the chapel, back to standing beside the casket, back to staring at Lilith’s hollow body. Dropping to his knees, he slams his fist against the ground, letting out angry screams and tears. The moment he breaks, his mother and father does so too. Jin was so close, Lilith was so close. He was so close to protecting her, so close to saving her, so close to changing the future. But he failed. Once again, his stopwatch says 11:58 am. And for the 134th time, he watches the funeral once more, waiting for 12:00 pm to come again.

To create destruction and to destroy creation, by Rielin
Chapter One
“Phew… Okay. Let’s do this,” She whispered, her silky silvery locks swaying in the air as she gently closed her eyes, the ebony orbs concealing itself under the eyelids. The chilly breeze fluttered by, softly brushing her hair. She stood proudly on top of a tall cliff, fluffs of clouds were overheading the female.
“Brrr.. it’s cold,” Her concentration and position was ruined by the chilly temperature that resides at such height. She rubbed the palm of her hands on her arms while shivering in coldness.
“Okay, Thea. Let’s just get it over with,” She nodded in determination. The female, by the name of Thea, inhaled, and with an exhale, she placed her foot in mid air, falling down the cliff at quick speed. Although the pressure of the wind disturbed her vision, she did not dare to close her eyes, her black eyes were ignited with excitement. As the gap between Thea and the ground became closer and closer at an immense speed, her adrenaline pumped through her pulses excitedly.
‘When the caster is experiences verge of death without the intention of suiciding, their magic will upon itself to save the caster,’
“Now!” She exclaimed as she shut her eyes.
A cloud of sand or something like that should form! She thought to herself.
Yet contrasting her expectation… a piles of giant leaves created before her eyes, her vulnerable body safely landing on top.
“...What? WHAT IS THIS?!” She yelled out in confusement mixed with irritation.
Why did she even just jump off of a cliff, you may ask?
Earlier during the same day, Thea lazily sat on the uncomfortable wooden chair in the library with her feet on top of the desk. Usually, the librarian would give a rather irritating glare to others, but it seemed like the librarian gave up trying to fix Thea’s posture. Multiple books were piled up on one another on top of her desk, and it seemed as if she have already read them all numerous times, considering how lifeless Thea’s ebony eyes were.
Thea was supposedly born on Sol 31st, also known as the forbidden day. No one sures know the exact reason why it’s considered as a forbidden day, but the ideology of birth is not allowed and the child will be executed if found out. Thea’s parents both passed away during the Sol War and was automatically adopted by her father’s close friend, Riz. Riz is a high-ranked magician working for the government for city of Alterre and so far for 17 years, she was able to ‘fake’ Thea’s identity so she won’t face an execution.
Thea’s original name is ‘Sol’, and that’s the only information about her own self that Riz have told her so far. She would always repeat, “when you become older and wiser, I will tell you more”, and yet for 17 years, Riz have told her nothing else.
Riz lied to Thea that she was born on Sol 15th, therefore Thea thinks she has single Earth element as her elemental power. However, no matter how hard she tried, she was never able to conjure a simple earthly magic, such as swirling sand on top of her palms. Perhaps she has another elemental power, she thought once. Yet she wasn’t able to conjure fire, water, nor air.
A/N: Sol = Thea. She was born Sol 31st. Sol 15th is her ‘fake’ birthday. Sol thinks her birthday is on the 15th. She doesn't’ know her original birthday, only her name.
Thea have read numerous amount of magic book in and out, mastering the concept and knowledge of Earth elemental power. She was able to do difficult calculations within her head, yet no magic occurred. She would even wonder, is it because her father named her after the month known for having no element?
As Thea sighed with stress, one of the student volunteering in the library walked by while pushing on a cart. Thea glimpsed over at the noise without interest, then a book caught her eye immediately. She’ve read all kinds of books, yet the navy-colored cover book with an intricate pattern of gold- it was a book she have never seen before. She walked over to the cart and grabbed the book. The student gave her a surprised look, but passed on since he was going to put it back in the shelf where it belongs again.
“Basic Magic, psh…,” Thea murmured to herself. She thought it was probably some basic facts which she already knows about, but she decided to read on since it was a book she have never read before. Surely she would be interested if there was new facts.
Then she read those words that constantly echoed into her mind throughout the rest of the day, ‘When the caster is experiences verge of death without the intention of suiciding, their magic will upon itself to save the caster,’. In result… she decided to climb up to the highest cliff in Alterre. Although she was somewhat hesitant, she believe that her Earth magic will appear for sure when her body experiences the verge of death. She expected some kind of sand swirling around, creating a fluff for her to land upon… yet tremendous sized leaves piled upon one another appeared before her eyes. Although she did land safely, it just wasn’t what she expected it to be.
Thea placed her feet down to the earthly ground, a gentle sand wrapping around her shoe, staining with dirt. She revolted back from the sight of the mysterious leaves that were created out of nowhere. She cautiously leaned forward and gently touched the leaf, yet nothing happened. It was just a plain, tremendous leaf. Even more confused, she inspected the plant however no clue was to be found.
“Go away!” Irritated, Thea exclaimed as she kicked the giant leaf. Due to the sudden force, the leaf swayed in the air violently and within a blink, it vanished into the thin air. As stunned as Thea was, no words escaped from her lips as she watched the ground where the leaves were prior to her violent actions.
“What is the meaning of this?!” She whined in thin air, the sound of her voice echoing from afar as it bounced from mountain to mountain.
“How did you do that,”
Thea turned around at the sound of a random voice, only to find out it was a small boy. His hair was golden brown that resembled the earthly sand of Alterre, and his petite body was wrapped around in black clothing along with a black scarf that covered his mouth.
Who is this kid? Thea thought to herself as she stared down at the boy with shocked eyes. However, she remained calm even in the most spontaneous events and smiled toward the boy saying,
“Uh… hi, little kid. Are you lost? I don’t know much magic to teleport you back, but I know the city well enough to take you back,” She said, yet the boy did not flinch a bit. He did not even shed a tear or anything, he was simply expressionless.
“How did you do that,” He said once again as if wasn’t even a question, but a demand.
Did he just… ignore me?! Thea shouted furiously inside of her mind but her physical features stayed calm as she maintained her smile.
“I don’t know either, this is the first time anything like this happened to me,” Thea said nervously as she scratched the side of her head, as she wanted to question her own skill as well. She turned her gaze back to the petite boy, who was merely staring at her with emptied expression.
…? What does he want? Thea thought to herself as his glance was rather uncomfortable.
“I guess I’ll take you ho-,” As Thea was about to finish her sentence, the little boy started to conjure the sand on top of his palms, transforming the earth into stones. The stones were swiftly thrown toward Thea, who narrowly dodged the large stones.
How did he just transform the sand into large rocks? Thea thought to herself, Wait… why is he attacking me in the first place?!
“Wh- what are you doing?!” She furiously shouted as she scrunched her face to state at the boy. He was staring at her with those emptied, golden eyes once again, creating even more anger within her.
“It is! Not nice! To throw! Rocks at people!” She exclaimed as she caught one of the stone and threw back at the boy. Then with a loud colliding sound, the rock landed on top of the earth which was followed up by a complete silence and the disappearance of the boy.
“Did I just… throw a rock at a little kid?!” Thea questioned herself. “Oh my god! What have I done?! He was being annoying but I should’ve never threw that rock, he probably wanted to play with me, oh my god,” Thea murmured to herself with panic, her voice shaking with fear at the thought of possibly murdering a child. She grabbed onto the sharp edges of the stone and with a mighty force that constrated her slender body, she threw the rock to the side… only to find nothing. The boy was gone.
Thea glanced about, Where… did he go?
“So weak, how pathetic,”
Thea turned around at the sudden voice of a deep, husky voice. It was a grown-up male. He seemed to be almost six feet tall, with golden brown hair and eyes that resembled the color of Alterre. He was wearing a black scarf that wrapped around his mouth and black clothing. Although his clothing covered every inch of his body, judging from the width of his shoulders, Thea could tell this guy was pretty muscular. However it was somewhat weird. The grown-up male right in front of her, is wearing the same exact clothing as the boy that just disappeared. Not only that, but their hair and eyes are exactly the same color. It’s as if the boy grew up within blink of an eye. The two had the same, the exact, expressionless face.
“Who…?” Thea whispered, her voice cracking in thin air. Wait… he just said I’m pathetic!
“Who do you think you are, sir?! Calling a person you just met pathetic?” Thea shouted with irritation. Why are there so many strangers that suddenly appears out of nowhere and acts in such a rude way toward her?
“What is your name,”
I’m ignored, AGAIN! Thea scrunched her face, staring at the male with shock.
“Thea,” She answered but with irritation lingering within her voice as she pouted.
“Thea…,” He repeated her name with a hint of despair in his voice as he whispered under his breath. Thea tilted her head in confusion, for he seemed so depressed and lonely for some reason.
“Uh… is something wrong?” She asked carefully.
Then all of a sudden, within blink of an eye, he was standing right in front of her as if he have teleported, closing the distanced gap in between the two. His arms were effectively locking her from moving, as his palms were placed directly on wall of the cliff. Embarrassed, she couldn’t stare back at the male who was giving her an emotionless expression. She could feel heat crawling under her skin, rising up to her cheeks. As she nervously glanced at the male, his face became closer and closer as he leaned forward.
W- wait! Is this… my first kiss?! I can’t even have it with a man like this! Thea thought to herself, her heart pounding rapidly at each second. She scrunched her eyes closed, somewhat nervous, somewhat afraid. However, the sensation she felt was not his lips matching against hers, but a gentle voice whispering close to her ear.
“But that’s not your name,”
...
The mysterious male backed away, giving off a rather arrogant smile toward Thea, who stared at him with shock.
“Don’t disappoint me with your weakness next time I see you,” He said, and within a mere second, he disappeared into the unknown.
How does he know? Does he know my real name? But only Riz knows. Who is he? Why did he approach me? Does Riz know about him? Multiple thoughts crossed Thea’s mind at a fast speed. Her ebony orbs were shaking within her eyes as a drop of sweat rolled down her neck.
What just happened?
Author’s Note:
HI ALL THIS IS DA CHAPTER ONE FOR MY FIRST ORIGINAL STORY! Sorry it took me awhile to post, but school recently started and I will be semi-active on my fanfiction blog and this blog :c I’ve already written chapter two, so I will be posting that in couple weeks, but I don’t think I will update this story so often after. Background Information
To create destruction and to destroy creation, by Rielin
Prologue
Creation of life is found within greed, yet that greed never experiences end of life, even if stained by blood. The creation of life and the destruction of life, searching for the starting point of this chaos. Searching for the lost goddess to bring ‘life’ within life―
Sol:
Endless desires, they will never stand up for themselves. Tears starts to form from the corner of the black iris, reflecting the heavenly light. Soon enough, I will be forgotten.
Don’t say that, Sol. The golden eyes glances down, afraid of matching his eyes into hers.
I guess I should say goodbye before I even lose the chance to. She smiles, her eyes hinting desperation that cannot be erased.
Starry lights soared from the ground, the vulnerable female beaming with holiness, and without even a second to say farewell, she disappeared.
The Lost Goddess.
I will forever search for you, Sol.
Note:
UHHH HI SORRY FOR SUCH SHORT PROLOGUE!!!
Chapter one will be a lot longer than this, which I will post in couple more days! Hope you guys are looking forward to this story :D
Hello all! This is Rielin, and I will be publishing my first original story ‘Sol: The Lost Goddess’ in this blog. I’m planning it to be a fairly long story since the plot is so broad. So instead of wasting all of chapter one explaining everything, I decided to make a information section, so you guys can always come back to this post and check it whenever you get lost in the story! This post may be edited as I continue the story, but no spoilers will be given here.
I will be linking this post to every one of my chapters, in case you need it!
God
Fire | Ignis (M)
Water | Aquae (F)
Earth | Terra (M)
Air | Venti (M)
Sol | ? (F)
Very few humans know about the goddess Sol.
They are immortal. Cannot be killed nor die of old age.
But they do disappear. If everyone stops believing/praying to them, they will disappear until at least one person in the world believes/prays to them.
When they do reappear, their previous memories are refreshed. They will be reincarnated as an infant and will grow like a regular child. Once they realize they're a god, they are able to change their physical appearance and display their power.
Their appearances are usually around their 20's.
They can change their physical appearances by turning into a child, a teen, change their clothing, change the length of their hair, etc. in order to fuse within the crowd of humans. Hair and eye color cannot be changed.
Humans
Can have elemental power (fire, water, earth, air): none, single, double, or triple. Their elemental power differs by their birthday (Explained underneath).
Examples)
None: No element.
Single: No element & fire.
Double: Fire & air.
Triple: Fire & fire.
None cannot conjure any elemental power. Singles are only able to conjure one. Double can conjure two different types of elemental power. Triple can conjure the same elemental power yet with more advanced technique and power when compared to single and double.
Magicians: Physically weak yet highly intelligent. Needs to have the ability to conjure up a skill that requires multiple calculations within mere seconds. Usually people with double/triple elemental power advances to a magician, sometimes single.
Knights: Physically strong yet usually lacks double or triple elemental power. They will take advantage of their only elemental power to increase either their strength, agility, or balance. If no element, they will be considered as a weak knight.
Major Cities | Humans
City of Fire: Firesse
City of Water: Rivernoel
City of Earth: Alterre
City of Air: Aerowyn
Humans resides in small villages or in four major cities listed above. Within these four major cities are temples, which is maintained by the priest. The priest must have triple elemental power. There is a statue of the god matching with the city's attribute in middle of the city. The priest must share his or her elemental power with the statue to create a barrier that protects the entire city from outer attacks
Elemental Power Birthdays | Humans
Fire | Month: June - August | Day: 01 - 07
Water | Month: December - February | Day: 08 - 14
Earth | Month: March - May | Day: 15 - 21
Air | Month: September - November | Day: 22 - 28
No Element | Month: Sol | Day: 29 - 30
? | Month: Sol | Day: 31
So people born during Sol 29-30 will have no elemental power. People will tend to avoid giving birth during these days.
Sol 31st is the forbidden day to give birth. Not many knows the reason why. Also known as the Forbidden Day.
Bestia
I posted a picture from my google docs since it’s more neater and easier to see with a chart.
"Beasts". Mortal. They do not age once they reach their adult form, yet will die when killed.
They don't have elemental powers nor do they pray to god (in fact they actually hate gods) but they are granted with transcendence skills, their own magical ability.
Date
Y00: The year when the world and the four gods were created.
Sol: The 13th month that appears every thousand years.
Y1000 Sol 1st: The Sol War.
Y1000 Sol 31st: Forbidden day.
Realms
World is divided into two realms: Human Realm and Bestia Realm.
Only Vita (Bestia) and God can open the gate that separates the two realms. Yet every time Vita opens the gate, the God closes it right away. No Vita have stepped in the Human Realm until the Sol War.
Main Character | Sol
A lot needs to be told about Sol, so I had to make a section for her.
Name: Original name: Sol. Given name: Thea.
Birthday: Sol 31st, Y1000. (Forbidden day).
Elemental Power: Not known.
Her parents died in Sol War when she was couple days old. Was adopted by Riz, Sol's father's close friend.
Riz: 30's. Magician working for the government in Alterre. Double elemental power: Earth.
Sol' Father: Was single elemental powered (Earth) professor in Alterre university. Was highly intelligent yet lacked the power to become a magician. Was interested in creation of world and god. Read various books in university library and found about a goddess named Sol. Did not believe in her at first, then when her daughter was born, he started to believe in her. Named her daughter 'Sol' for thanking the goddess 'Sol' for creating her daughter even during chaos. His daughter Sol (Thea) does not know much about her father.
Because Sol's birthday was during the forbidden day, Riz had to hide her identity. She named Sol 'Thea' meaning gift of god. Told Sol to live as Thea who was supposedly born during Sol 15th (Single Earth elemental power).
So Thea and Sol are the same person. [Not the goddess Sol; whenever Goddess Sol is mentioned, I will put Goddess in front].
Thea doesn't know her original birthday. She only knows her original name.
Overall
This should organize all the gods ,cities, and birthday.
Disclaimer: I was highly inspired to write this story after reading a webtoon called 'Kubera'. Therefore there may be some similarities but the plot and the characters will be different! BTW, you guys should definitely read that webtoon, IT'S SO GOOD.
note:
OKAY THAT’S IT FOR THE INFORMATION. It’s a lot to memorize, thus I decided to make this background information! Feel free to check back into it whenever you’re lost during reading the actual story. Sorry if this is somewhat unorganized, but I may be changing the layout later on if I find a more of an organized way! I will be posting the prologue very soon, so please look forward to it!
A darkened sky was beginning to set over the horizon, the sun sinking down, bringing with it it’s rays of warmth and light. The street lamps begin to light up one by one, taking over the sun’s place. Dashing down an alley is a young girl, a fresh medical student that had taken her first steps into reality. She was brought up with dreams of false hopes, dreams of false success, dreams of false truths. Everything that she had learned and hoped for was nothing more than a child’s dream, a dream that would be crushed by the chains of reality. Becoming a doctor was her aspiration, her desire, her hope. She wanted to heal people, she wanted to save them, she wanted to help them live. But that was nothing more than a dream. In this world, only those who followed the rules could be saved and only those with money could be healed. Why didn’t she realize it? The privilege that she had been blessed with? She was born into a kind family, one that had money and opportunities. Everything she had gotten was handed to her on a silver plate. She was born lucky, blind from the corruption of this world.
She took another turn down the alley, her breaths coming out raspy while her feet burned with the momentum of her speed. Her footsteps echoed loudly through the night, her shadow trailing behind her as the street lamps followed her every move. Yes, why hadn’t she realized it? The unfairness of this world. Those who were poor were turned away by hospitals and clinics and those who broke the rules were restricted from treatment. These people were dying. A life-saving treatment, a medicinal solution…! They could not have it. Because they didn't have money. Because they didn’t follow the rules. That was how the world ran. She grew up with the ideas of saving people, the ideas of everyone being healthy and safe. But those ideas were considered blasphemous. An ideology that only fools would follow. Healthcare was not a basic human right. It was a privilege. A privilege for those who followed the system’s rotten rules, who held onto money greedily, who spat on those lower than them. And she was part of it. She was part of those people who grew up with an advantage over the rest. And she didn’t see it, not until she met him.
He was different. He didn’t follow the rules and he didn’t have money. All he had, was the people he helped. He stole, he killed, and he saved. He broke every rule there was. But he did it with a reason. He stole from those who had more than enough and gave it to those who needed it most. He killed those who broke the laws of morality and avenged those who fell victim to them. He saved them from starvation, abuse, and death. He was their savior. But to the world’s system, he was a rat that needed to be killed. He was the opposite of what she had aspired to be, yet his actions did everything she wanted to see. Steal to feed. Kill to save. Fight to live. She admired him. She grew to know him. And that was all it took for the city to betray her. The system wanted her dead.
She could hear it, the shouting, the police sirens, and the bloodlust coming from those who pursued her right this very moment. They were getting close, she was getting tired. There was no escape. No, there was no escape to begin with. She didn’t run to escape, she ran to buy time. He had always helped her. Now it was her turn to help him. Even if the system wanted her dead, even if she was scared to be killed, even if she knew her actions would lead to her death. She admired him.
Bang!
The sound of a bullet slicing through the air entered her ears and a second later she felt it ripping through her legs. Falling heavily to the ground, her knees are sliced up by the concrete, pieces of skin and blood staining the ground. With a cry of pain, she grabbed her injured leg, squeezing it tightly as if that would ease the agony that she felt.
“I have her!”
Wincing at the bright flashlight that came glaring down at her face a second later, she felt arms grab her, her wrist soon enough being handcuffed together. Another second later, she felt a hand snatch her hair, yanking her off the ground as something sharp lightly brushed the surface of her neck. A knife.
“Where is he?” A voice growled into her ear.
Biting her lip, she remained silent, her body now shaking with fear. She was scared. She didn’t want to die. She wanted to see her family again. She wanted to see him again. But it was over, they had caught her.
“Answer me.”
The amount of hatred and wickedness that swirled in his voice was enough to bring tears to her eyes, the droplets sliding down her cheek.
“I-I d-don’t kn-know w-what you’re t-talking a-about…” Her reply came as a stutter, her sentence being inhibited by the sobs that racked her body.
“You intend to play dumb, huh? Keep up the front as much as you’d like, but it doesn’t matter. You’ll do fine as bait for him either way.”
“Y-you’re w-wasting your t-time. H-he won’t s-save me…”
“It’s such a shame. You, a daughter born into the most prestigious family of doctors is now nothing more but a sewage rat because of him. But don’t worry, your death will be the cleansing that your family needs. The system cleans all sinners.”
She couldn’t muster up a reply, biting her lips as she closed her eyes. The gunshot on her leg was becoming numb and cold and she could feel her blood slowly dripping out of it. Everything he said was right. Her parents were shocked and disappointed when they found out. But they never betrayed her, only begged her to change and come back. They loved her and she could see it, and that’s exactly why she left. She wouldn’t let her parents die because of her decisions. They had never done anything wrong, they had only healed and saved as doctors. Even if their patients were the pigs that stood before her now.
“Kill me.”
Her sentence came out firmer than she expected, an unnatural calm washing over her. The sobs and stutter that had broken her had faded and suddenly, she felt a sense of determination and justice.
“What did you say…?” The police questioned incredulously.
“Kill me,” She repeated, “End me, however way you choose.”
“Have you gone nuts? Do you really want to die?” The knife was pressed closer to her neck.
“Do it.”
If saving people by breaking the rules was the reason behind her death then so be it. The system was fucked up from the start. Sure, she had regretted stealing, disobeying the laws, and disappointing her parents. But she had never regretted the benefits that came with it, the smiling homeless children, the relieved faces of the poor, and the kindness that they had showed her even though she was of someone much higher. All they proved, was that they were human beings too. If dying would save them, than her death was with purpose.
“It looks like your beyond saving at this point. May your death be the symbol that proves that the system is always right,” The cop pressed the knife even closer.
“Get your hands off her.”
That voice… It was very familiar… Could it possibly be… him? Snapping her eyes open, she whipped her head around frantically, searching for that familiar face that she longed to see. In just a second, she spotted him, standing atop the alley walls with a knife in one hand and a gun in the other. With a swift leap, he landed on the ground, his blue eyes cold and frosty. His eyes met hers and in a split second turned tender.
“Why are you…?” She whispered softly, trying to hold back the tears that were beginning to spill from her eyes one more. A soft smile graced his lips.
“I’m here for you.”
“Why…? You’re going to die too…”
“Why isn’t even a question. You should know the answer by now. No one gets left behind.”
She wanted to smile at his words, but the knife that pressed even closer to her skin stopped her. Each breath came out like stutters as she watched him expertly fight off the system’s police. He stabbed one. Two. Three. But they kept on coming. She knew it deep inside, he wasn’t going to make it. She wasn’t going to make it. He himself had taken the steps towards death. He had walked into the system’s web for her. And these webs were going to strangle him slowly. She wanted to scream for him to run, to leave her, to live. But the cowardly self inside her took over and she could only watch as he was overwhelmed, pushed to the ground and held down by five other cops.
“You’re quite foolish to walk straight into our trap,” One of them muttered lowly, an arrogant smirk flashing onto their lips.
However he only glared in response, struggling to break loose. One grabbed his gun and another grabbed his knife, tossing them far away. Unarmed and tied down, there was no escape for him.
“Right here and right now, I’m going to break the law that your filthy organization goes by.”
Letting out a gasp at the tightening grip on her hair, she watched as the knife is pulled back, aimed for her neck. This was it. Her knowing eyes met his terrified blue ones, a sorrowful guilt bubbling in her chest. All at once, the memories that she had shared with him came flooding back and once again, tears began to streak down her cheeks. She watched as he screamed and howled in anger, his arms getting ripped up by the concrete as he struggled to get up. She could tell by how he yelled her name, how much he had wanted to save her, how much he loved her. And that was more than enough for her. She let out one final smile before the knife was pulled and suddenly everything turned black.
He watched how her limp body fell to the ground. He watched her struggle to gasp and breathe as her hands held her throat. He watched as blood slipped past her beautiful fingers, soon enough enveloping her body. He watched her fade before him, a new emotion igniting the flames in his heart. And soon enough, he couldn’t see anything but her. But those around him could, they could see the change in his eyes, how the frosty plain had suddenly turned into a raging inferno.
“And suddenly he couldn’t see anything but her. But those around him could, they could see the change in his eyes, how the frosty plain had suddenly turned into a raging inferno.”
Background information to clear up any confusion on this one-shot! The story really just jumped straight into the action so it must be a little too much to take in at once lol Hopefully this clears up most of your questions.
Main Characters
Girl: No name. Above age 18. Born from a family of prestigious doctors that had earn their name in fame from the system. Her parents had saved thousands of lives and was hailed as precious civilians. Because of that, the girl grew up with a higher advantage over the rest. She grew up sheltered from the corruption of the world and all her happiness and benefits were handed to her on a silver plate. She is now aiming to become a doctor with the ideologies of saving and giving everyone a happy life.
Boy: No name. Above age 18. Born from the slums of the poor, he lost his parents at the age of five from the system’s police force. Every year, the system enters the slums to kill thousands of homeless people, to cleanse and purify the sewage as they put it. Brought up with revenge and hatred, he trained himself into a skilled fighter and can handle any weapon with ease. At first he worked solo, killing corrupt politicians, rapists, and abusers. He hijacked food sources and gave them to the poor. Because of his actions, the system identified him as a rat that need to be annihilated. He was well-known but no one knows his actual name, perhaps because he has no name. Since the system was after him, he entered an organization formed from the slums that vowed to overthrow the government who treated human beings like trash. He is on their board of administration and has a very high ranking amongst them.
Plot
The two characters meet in an alley when the boy is running and trying to hide from the system. At first, girl realizes he is injured and tries to tend to him, except he pushes her aside and tells her to leave immediately. She doesn’t understand until the cops find them, the cops telling her to get away since he was identified as a dangerous and wanted criminal. Scared, she backs off and the injured boy grins, stating that if everyone was as kind as her the world would’ve be a better place. He then fires a smoke grenade and escapes.
Those words stay with the girl and without thinking, she tries to find him again. She does (of course she does) and he’s oddly intrigued that she’s interested in him. They talk to each other in a vacant area with few people and cameras. It gets to a point in the conversation where she asks him why he’s being pursued by the system since she can’t figure out why he’s so dangerous. This is where he invites her to his home, in the slums and she realizes the true reality of the world.
The girl witnesses a system cleansing, where the army walks in and shoots any homeless person in the head before burning their corpse. This is where she changes.
The two continue meeting and it gets to the point where she begins to help him, doing small deeds that help to the overall grand plan. She helps them steal food, save hostages from the organization, and end politicians career. Her help is very small and isn’t dangerous but the system begins to locate her on cameras at each spot where the plan started and they began to put 2 and 2.
They finally stalk her and find out that she is indeed part of the organization and corner her in her house. She breaks out the window and begins to run away.
Cue to the actual story where she is being pursued by them, they want to take her hostage and torture out any information on the slums organization out of her. While they are doing that, the boy is participating in a very grand plan, where they will invade the government headquarters and kill the mayor to take over the city.
Additional Facts
This story wasn’t meant to become anything more than this one-shot.
The girl and boy both have no names because I didn’t want to turn this story into a long one.
The slum’s organization motto is, “No one gets left behind, no matter what.”
The boy’s eyes are a very pretty cerulean color. Very blue and vibrant. When she first meet him, his eyes had an odd fiery spark in them.
Yes, they are in love. They are just not official.
Yes, she dies in the one-shot, however he lives. I just didn’t write it lol
The organization is located underneath the slums, but it takes a series of complex tunnels to get there. The system believes it’s somewhere up.
The slums are huge, almost 80% of the population of the city. The rich is only 20%. The slums are in like a crater around the city, while the rich live above.
Girl is unofficially part of the organization through the boy and is treated with respect since the boy trusts her.
City is run by mayor, who created the idea that the only the rich should live in luxury while those who are poor should be treated like animals.
The one-shot is very confusing unless you understand the plot behind it, which is why I created this sheet here. All my stories will probably have a sheet like this to clear up confusing matters.
This blog will be dedicated to original stories written by Rielin and I. This is still very new, so we have yet to post anything. However, all stories will be coming soon. Please look forward to them!
