The orphans found in the house, are not orphans per say. Many of them are just kids waiting for their parents to return from sentences in Meropide. It is just so they have a roof until then.

The Duke himself, as per what we see in the Demo/Teaser, makes sure of that.

Some other kids are not that fortunate but they still get the loving care they need, especially under Ren's.

“Oh?, where are we to go?”, how long has it been since last accompanying the other on anything?, even the smallest of chores back when the clan still stood.

Memories of olden days were pretty scattered to her.

“Today I’m helping a working family for the day, a mother taking care of her sickly child has no time to go out and get food for her little one at the end of the day.” Kazuha spoke out with a smile, though there was a look of concern on his face, concern for someone else as it’s always been the case for the young Kaedehara. “I’m planning on traversing to the market to buy a few vegetables and some fowl of course.”

Well now, she couldn't possibly ignore the situation at hand, so obviously, the yokai was all the more willing to help out. Beside, with her days being relatively quiet, its nice to roam out, once and a while.
