February ‘26 finds
1. Live It Up I could be the hope and possibility / You could be the one to help me turn the key Artist: Rachel Sage 🏳️🌈 I discovered Rachel Sage through the GLOW “Queer As Folk” playlist, and this is my favorite song on her new album. Listen to this when you need some stubborn optimism.
2. Dangerous I should say no to the rush / Run before I love ya / Cause you’re dangerous Artist: Joshua K Zook 🎤 I met Joshua at Writers ‘Round, and he was a delight! This funky little song is about trying and failing to listen to your mind when your heart knows what it wants.
3. Redecorate I’m gonna miss this / I’m gonna miss the way we always stop before it detonates Artist: Maggie Gently 🏳️🌈 Another artist I found through GLOW “Queer As Folk”. This is a great indie-rock song about getting out of the place you’ve been stuck. I really enjoy how the countermelodies come together at the end.
4. Song to the Siren For you sang / Sail to me / Sail to me, let me enfold you Artist: Kitty MacFarlane I found Kitty MacFarlane on a “Grace Petrie radio” algorithm playlist. I’m blown away by the gorgeous clarity of her voice! I recommend this for all those love-and-drowning fans.
5. The Ballad of Lucy Gray Baird Too bad I’m the bet that you lost in the reaping Artist: Rachel Zegler A friend from book club shared her sister’s Renn Faire playlist, which was full of hits! The movie version of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes didn’t capture the full punch of the book, but this song came out well. I like that they stuck to the diegetic one voice, one guitar arrangement on this.
6. Teir Abhaile Riu Home you’ll go and it’s there you’ll stay and there’s work to do in the morning Artist: Celtic Woman Another from the Renn Faire playlist, about a wayward young woman. Don’t you know we have good men at home?
7. Stay Soft For better or for worse / Let it in and let it hurt Artist: Marielle Kraft 🏳️🌈 I found Marielle Kraft on a list of recommendations for first dance songs at lesbian weddings. She wrote a bunch of songs in her wedding planning era, so glad to have had them for my own! This is a sweet pop song about how you can relearn vulnerability when you have a person you’re safe with.
8. Can’t Let You Go But my heart won’t change / I think it’s yours for good Artist: Joshua K Zook 🎤 More Zook! Another perspective on the “not sure we should be together, but my heart doesn’t care” theme. Watch out, it’s catchy!
9. Surreal Love Now I simply can’t ignore / That what I’m longing for is real Artist: Chloe Wiecz 🏳️🌈🎤 I met Chloe at Writers ‘Round, and felt an instant kinship with her short blonde haircut and dangly earrings. This is a jazz song about learning to believe in a good relationship. I really enjoy the vocal arrangement, and find myself doing the “bup bup bup” parts unconsciously.
10. Integrity, Man You’re selfish, yes I’m jealous / Of your carelessness Artist: Emily Gabriele 🎤 Another musician from Writers ‘Round, though Emily was visiting from out of town. A cool, offbeat little song.
11. Deal Me In You who I cannot have / You who I should not choose Artist: Jess Bush 🎤 Even another musician from Writers ‘Round! Some nice moody Americana, featuring percussion sampled from cards and poker chips.
12. without you So I’ll keep it up, I’ll do my best / At the very least I’ll make my bed Artist: Eva Snyder 🎓 Eva was a college classmate of mine, and like me, she is releasing music after years of working in tech! This is a pop song about recovery from mental illness.
The linked playlist has even more songs I heard for the first time in February. Go forth and listen to new music!
one of my favorite reads of 2026
Cats logic 🤷🐱🐈
It's not that kitty is saying she can't make the wheel go. Kitty is saying she wants to do the wheel WITH her person. Much the same way many cats won't wat unless their person is eating at the same time.
This is a request for social togetherness and it's incredibly sweet
Vienna Teng's set of interlinked "We Got You" music videos is complete

one of my friends in a discord server was talking about how they were nervous about their first scheduled acupuncture appointment. another friend offered to do a tarot reading for them. sent this picture.
I saw there's a Tolkien Duck Week and I have never posted my Fellowship of Ducks, I realise! They're inspired by both the Muscovy ducks in the garden of the Watermill theatre, where the Lord of the Rings musical was brought back to the stage after a long absence in 2023, and by the actors in said production.
What are you reading rn, why are you reading it, and what format are you reading it in (physical book, ereader, on your phone etc)
it has occurred to me, as I age, that most people did not spend their childhoods getting simplified breakdowns of class-action lawsuits explained to them over dinner at least once a week
I ABSOLUTELY encourage people to keep reblogging and commenting on this with their own niche secondhand expertises from their parents’ careers
Warm-up Sketch
I’ve decided to color more of my warm-up sketches and post them on Tumblr. I have no idea if anyone here wants to see them, but at least I can archive them here so they don't just rot away in old sketchbooks.
My sister took more photos of my dress. I am very happy with how this turned out :)))))
Only one more weekend until the Renaissance Faire!!!!
Some official art we commissioned from the delightful @pembroke last year!
that’s his little guy!!
boyfriend's quail photos have reached perhaps a lifetime peak today
