— With the little snide comment the older hedgehog, Nicky tilted his head, a bit confused and taken aback by his previous statement. He wasn’t too sure if the other was making fun of him or not, but he was just going to brush that aside for now. While the hedgehog spun around, the child grew anxious as his trail had picked up speed ( though it was a more instinctual thing that he did more than anything ). From what he could see, the speed hedgehog’s movement was pretty fascinating. After Sonic had finished his demo, the child very much reacted in response to the performance with a breathless ‘ Whoa’ that escaped his mouth. Now he could definitely see why that attack of his was admired by his fans and feared by his enemies. He kind of wished he had his notebook with him to write his observations down. ( Though, the live demonstration could’ve been less involved with him being in the middle of it like that. )
— That’s one thing about this ‘multi-verse’ thing though, it was still all so confusing. Different versions of friends or people he knew or creatures from different worlds could come and go was something he never was gonna get used to. On the other hand, it could also be pretty insightful. In this instance, Nicky had learned so much more about this Sonic guy more than anyone else in town.
I was just curious because Sonic…well a Sonic here is known for doing all of these attacks and powers, and people all over town know about him…” Nicky replied with a slight scratch on the side of his head. The younger hedgehog left out the fact that, out of everyone in town, he was really the only hedgehog that didn’t know a thing about the supersonic hero. He couldn’t understand why though. Was Sonic purposefully trying to avoid him or was it something else?
BUT IF HE HAD BEEN less involved, he would have missed out on the experience, and who is Sonic to take that away from him?
Sonic may not be into the whole acclaimed hero biz for the sake of adulation, but he certainly isn’t against getting his ego fed every once in a while. He smiles a little wider, less smugly, with his hands on his hips, seeing the kid look legitimately interested and impressed at the demonstration. That isn’t a crime, right?
“I’d hope he is,” he laughs, tilting his head. “We got street cred to keep up, different corner of the universe or not.”
Sonic’s ear twitches, and his eyes are a little wider after he blinks, inquisitive. Bit of an... impersonal take on his Sonic. At least from his Sonic experience (...Spirit experience? How that nickname spread to all his multiverse friends and acquaintances is beyond him.), while he’s definitely not everyone’s super close come-by-for-Christmas-dinner-why-don’t-you friend, he likes friendly chit-chat, likes striking up conversation with a lot of people he meets, rescued or otherwise. In the latter event, it helps people calm down, and in the former, a five minute conversation can brighten someone’s day and fulfill his curiosity. Different people, different cultures, different lives, different experiences. The world is huge, and for all of Sonic’s fondness for not slowing down, you can’t get to everything this world has to offer without talking to the people who live there. Kids in particular he likes to drop by, and they like him dropping by, too, so it works out for them both. Why would Nicky even need to ask him to demonstrate, when he has a Sonic of his own who everyone around him knows?
“Kinda sounds like you and your Sonic don’t really know each other,” he comments with a tilt of his head. “Is he not the chatty type?”
