Don’t Worry, We’re Still Here!

Oh boy i know it’s been awhile since I’ve post on here or anywhere. So I just wanted to let everyone know where I’ve been. First off I just wanted to let you all know that even though my brand looks super professional it is just operated just by me, with some help from family and friends from time to time. With that being said I still work a normal 40hr a week job. I also just got this nasty flu that has been going around. While sitting around in bed all day I was able to come up with some pretty cool products! And I would love to give you guys a little preview!

Being a brand from SoCal one of the biggest things I’ve wanted to do is swimwear. After hearing a rumor that our manufacturer we’re going to start producing swimwear, I got super stoked! It turned out that these rumors were true and here’s what I’ve been working on.

These are just samples and I’m not sure if these will make it to final production.

Just Getting Started

I’ve been wanting to do blog post for awhile now just to kinda let you guys know what we’re all about, who we are, and how we got started. And at the end of each post I’ll leave a little gift for you readers that you can only get here.

So how we got started?

This is a question that I get asked a lot when I first meet someone and they don’t know that i do this little brand. It all started when I worked a clothing company in the mall that said we had to wear their clothes or something that wasn’t a competitor. But the thing was i didn’t really like their stuff, i was just there because the “chicks were hot.” So in my home town there was a shop called the T-shirt Mart that sold plain shirt 3 for $10! I would go there once a week to pick out colors that I liked and I would stencil skulls and falcons and stuff like that on them. Don’t hate it was the early 2000s, it was cool! I would also cut pieces of different fabric out and sew them on, I like to say I was the first to do “cut and sew.”

It wasn’t around until maybe 2007 when I had the first shirt screen printed. That shirt was and to this day our top seller, The Spit 1985. When I came up with the design for this shirt I wanted to pay tribute to the year I was born. I think I got it...

For the longest time I used my brother “Baby Joe” as my guy model. Shortly after I printed this shirt I came out with two other styles, Spit Bomb, and Spit Wings. During this time No Fear and Obey were killer brands, so I wanted to do a little something from both.

My life during this time got crazy busy and I didn’t have much time for Spit anymore. So it ended. A few years went by and I’ve always talked about starting the brand back up again, but I couldn’t find the time or money. Then I had a big life changing event happened I was let go from my job. Having not so much money or any idea what I was going a good friend at the time told me “well now you can focus on your clothing brand again!” So that was it, good thing I’ve been working on designs in my down time. Sticking to our SoCal roots I wanted to release something that tied into it, and thus born the LAs Best tee!

I would say we have come along way from our first tee. We now offer over 25 products, with new styles and items coming this year. I hope you have enjoyed my first blog post and hope you enjoy your gift.
