Hi, everyone, 

Welcome to the very first* installment of the everything Caren is doing that's remarkable newsletter/update post. I’m going to get one of these together a few times a month, and keep them short and informative. If there’s anything you want more info on, or have a salient point I missed, email me at [email protected].

Firstly, my writing: things seem quiet for me, but there's a seething amount of activity just below the surface. I've been researching and drafting my novella for Revolution Books as part of Rise of the Beast, a group of intertwined novellas on the origin of Dracula and other characters from Bram Stoker's classic.

I also have two other projects that I have to keep mum about for the moment, and a non-fiction essay that’s in my queue: needless to say, 2017 is going to be all writing from here on out, with new stuff scheduled for 2018.

Secondly, thank you so much to everybody who has supported me doing my very first ever NAMI walk. We managed to totally crush all of my fundraising goals! If you donated and have not sent me your mailing address, please do -- I want to send thank you to everyone who donates. And if you were hoping to donate but have not done so yet, there's still time!

Next, if you follow any of my social media profiles you may have noticed that I'm talking about tarot readings. I've been reading tarot card since I was 15 but have only recently started doing readings professionally. I have a website to come, but for the moment you can always purchase readings through my Etsy store.

And lastly, I'm looking for some help. If you have any experience with Wikipedia and are looking for a short gig you can do in your spare time, let me know. My budget's pretty small, but it is a paying gig!

*This has arisen because I'm tired of feeling guilty about being terrible at marketing. I struggle with well-meaning folks who try and sell me shit in every post, and I want to be as far from that as possible. Several soul-searching conversations later, this emerged as the least intrusive way for me to clue you in on things that are going on.

I said this today: Is Jordan Worley really the ONLY person I have dated, with any seriousness, I have that I can drunk Google in the middle of the night? That can't be right. I know what he's up to; we keep in touch, and news about the fam, his lovely wife, and awesome kids. Can it really be true that the others are all managing to (personal) life mostly offline (except the two, of course, who are now deceased)? How does anyone just not have a personal internet footprint? Gobsmacking. (and I wasn't actually drunk Googling anyone. I rarely drink. This was more of a late night thought experiment.)
