Attention all SPN writers and fans! Do you want to take part in a fun supernatural writing experience? Do you want to interact with your SPN family in a more personal, one-on-one kind of way? Well, this is your chance!
We’re looking for writers to join @amanda-teaches and @percussiongirl2017 over on our SPN Choose Your Own Adventure blog- @spncya. What does a @spncya writer do, you ask? Here’s what!
Every month, we pick a story theme- for example, October is going to be Spooky for Halloween- and write a beginning with 3 choices at the end.
That week’s four players respond to the beginning and pick where they want the story to go next. Then, our writers each take one or two of the players and write their stories. Each story can have as little or many parts as you want, and, here’s the fun part, they’re completely personalized to each player. Based on the choices they make, YOU decide where the story goes next and then THEY make the next choice.
If you want some examples of past stories our writers have written to see the concept in action, go check out @spncya! We have months worth of stories over there. You can also message @amanda-teaches with any questions you might have!
Sound interesting? Well, if it does, go fill out this application and we’ll contact you as soon as we can. If you choose to become a writer, we can work with your schedule to get you writing as many stories as often as you would like, so don’t worry if you can’t commit a lot of time!
BUT WAIT! If you’re not interested in writing but more interested in playing, check out the rules below the cut to see how you can sign up on the player side:
Who here likes Choose Your Own Adventure games?
You’re in a long, narrow hallway when suddenly the lights start to flicker out one by one, quickly sending you into pitch blackness. What do you do? Do you stay where you are, run back the way you came, or run forward towards the lone door at the end of the hallway?
Do you want to know what happens next? Do YOU want to be the one who controls which direction the story goes? Well, now’s your chance!
Based off an idea by @just-another-winchester, we will be running personalized choose your own adventure games where the reader, YOU, is the star of the story. Every choice you make moves the story along and everyone who plays gets a different, personalized outcome. It’s the…
SPN CYA: Supernatural Choose Your Adventure Game
Here’s how it works:
If you want to play the game, go HERE and add your name, tumblr url, and preferred relationship status to our waiting list. That reserves your spot in the game. You may have to wait a few weeks or months for your game, which I’m sorry about, but we can only do so much because it’s personalized for every player. It’ll be worth the wait, I promise! Each game is a truly immersive, one-of-a-kind experience.
When the game starts, we’ll post the beginning to your story and tag you. All you need to do is reply or reblog with where you want to go next, and one of our writers will continue your story!
Each person’s game lasts a full week, with the number of parts varying on your participation (average is between 5-10 parts). If you would like an example of previous adventures, go check out @spncya to see what we have to offer.
If you have any questions about the game or the doc, just send an ask! We’re happy to help and we hope everyone can have an amazing experience!

C) Keep calling Sam
Noting the growing panic on your husband’s face, you walked over to him and grabbed his phone from his hands. “Dean, I’m sure Sam’s fine. Let’s just keep calling him.”
You pressed the speed dialed for Sam, again, growing a little worried when he failed to answer again. It wasn’t like Sam not to pick up, especially in your line of work. You saw Dean begin to pace nervously out of the corner of your eye as you dialed Sam’s number for the 3rd time that night.
“Valerie, something’s wrong, I can feel it. Damn it!” he yelled, sweeping his hand across the table, sending papers flying to the floor. “Why didn’t we answer when he called?!”
“Dean, we’ll reach him, okay, but you can’t start freaking out. Blaming yourself isn’t going to help Sam.”
He dropped his eyes to yours, and your heart broke at the fear that lay there. “Valerie, what if it got him?”
“Hey, this is Sam we’re talking about he’ll be fine.” You looked around, grabbing the keys from the floor where they had fallen. “Come on, let’s go find him. It’s not too late.”
“God, I hope not,” he prayed, taking the keys from you and making his way out the door.
You were going to find Sam, no matter what.

You looked over your shoulder for your brothers, but they were no one in sight. “I have to go in,” you whispered. “There’s no time to wait for them.”
You pulled your gun out from your bag and kicked open the door, raising the gun at the witch standing in the center of the living room. “Stop right there!”
She turned around at you and grinned. “Oh, what are you supposed to be? A hunter? How cute. You really think you can stop me with that gun?”
“It’s loaded with witch killing bullets,” you lied.
“Oh, sweetie, we both know if that was true, you would’ve shot me already, so I’m going to take my chances.” And, with that, she waved her hand, throwing you up against the wall, which you hit with a bone-shattering crash.
“Ow...” you moaned, struggling to get back up, even though you knew your left left was definitely broken.
“Aw, poor little hunter,” the witch taunted, advancing on you. “You really shouldn’t have come in here without any back up. That wasn’t very smart.”
“Who said she didn’t have any back up?” Dean’s voice came from behind her, just as he fired two rapid shots. They hit her before she could make a move, sending her to the ground, dead.
Sam rushed to you, pulling you into his arms. “Mathangi! Are you okay?”
“My leg’s broken, but, other than that, I think I’m okay.”
Dean dropped down next to you. “I told you to wait for us! You shouldn’t have come in here. You’re lucky you weren’t killed!”
You nodded weakly. “I know, Dean, I know, but it’s over now.”
Sam gave his brother a look and stood up, you still in his arms. “Let’s not argue about this now. We’ve got to get you to a hospital.” And, as he exited the house, Dean right on his heels, you knew that everything would be okay. Your brothers would take care of you, just like they always did.

“We should grab the witch killing bullets,” you said, making your decision. “I think whatever’s doing it, it has to be a witch. The M.O. fits.”
“Agreed. Let’s go gank him.”
Two hours later, you and Dean were back in Baby, heading out to meet Sam, after successfully finding and killing the fraternity’s witch. Dean glanced over you out of the corner of his eye, grinning when his eyes met yours. “You did good today, Nicolle.”
You laughed and turned your body towards him. “Do I not usually do good?”
“No, no, of course not. That’s not what I meant...I...”
You put your hand on his arm, laughing again. “It’s okay, Dean, I was just messing with you. I know what you meant. You did good today too.”
Dean glanced at you again, and then back at the road and back at you. “It’s just, I want you to know that it wasn’t just today that you did good. I mean, you always do good, Nicolle. You’re awesome, and not just at hunting. I just wanted you to know that.”
You smiled to yourself, turning back to look out the windshield in front of you. “Thanks, Dean. You too.”
The end.

B) ignore it and kiss Dean lmaooo
“That can wait,” you said, laughing as you silenced your phone and leaned in to kiss Dean, his arms circling around you to pull you tight against him with a growl. You giggled again, running your hands down his chest to his belt buckle. You tugged at it, pulling him even closer towards you, backing up until your knees hit the bed. “Oh, we definitely needed this break,” you mumbled, running your tongue along your lower lip.
“Damn straight,” he moaned, lifting you up and placing you down on the bed, gently with just a hint of roughness.
You started to pull the shirt over his shoulders when Dean’s phone rang, breaking your concentration. “Well, that’s a little odd,” you said, pushing Dean away. “Now your phone’s ringing. You think it’s related to mine?”
Dean groaned. “I guess I have to check.” He slowly pulled himself off of you and walked over to where his phone was laying, his eyes widening ever so slightly when he saw the caller ID. “It was Sammy. I’ll call him back.”
He picked up the phone and speed dialed Sam’s number, but it went straight to voicemail.
What do you do?
A) Drive back to the administrative office to check on him
B) Assume it’s fine and wait for him to call back
C) Keep calling Sam
This is your final choice for the week. Tune in for the exciting conclusion to see how your story ends!
“‘K, we’ll meet you there, Mathangi. Don’t go in get without us, you got it?”
You sighed. “Yes, Dean, I get it. I’ll wait for you. I promise.”
“Good,” he said before hanging up. You smiled, proud of yourself for breaking the case wide open and ran down the sidewalk. The girls in the library had told you the professor’s house was located just blocks from campus, so you made it there in no time, well before your brothers.
Sneaking around the back, you snuck a look into the window, gasping at the sight that was laid out in front of you. A woman, who you presumed was the doctor’s wife, was standing in front of a homemade altar, holding her hands in the air, and casting a spell.
“Oh my God,” you whispered. “She’s targeting her next victim! I have to get in there and stop her!”
What do you do?
A) Wait for Sam and Dean
B) Go in now without them
C) Try to cause a distraction outside to draw her attention until they get here
This is your final choice for the week. Tune in for the exciting conclusion to see how your story ends!
I bet it’s a fellow pledge getting rid of the competition, you thought, excitement building inside of you at the break in the case. You smiled at Dean before addressing the man again. “Can you tell us where pledge week is taking place?”
“It’s the Delta Phi fraternity on the edge of campus.”
“Great, thanks,” Dean said, taking your hand and pulling you away from the group. As soon as you were clear, he dropped his head closer to yours. “You thinkin’ what I’m thinkin’?”
“One of those pledges is taking out the competition.”
“Mmm...” Dean hummed in agreement. “How’d you want to handle this? Should we try to pull the professor card at the fraternity?”
You shook your head. “I don’t think we need to. Let’s just get in there, find whoever’s causing this, gank them, and get out.”
“Quick and dirty. I like it,” Dean said, winking at you and instantly speeding up your heartbeat. “We’ll probably be done before Sammy even gets back from the copy place. We’ll stop at Baby before we go and grab some weapons. What d’you think we need?”
A) Angel blades
B) Witch killing bullets
C) Machetes
This is your final choice for the week. Tune in for the exciting conclusion to see how your story ends!
Quick cya update for my players this week: I'm sorry, I didn't get any parts out today, but I had a mild case of food poisoning and had to work 14 hours, so I just didn't find any time! I'll get the next parts to all of your stories out tomorrow night and then I'll extend the end past tomorrow and have your final parts on Saturday. Thank you all for being so understanding this week with me being the only writer on "staff" here! I'm super thankful for your flexibility. 😁

C) Head back to the motel with to strategize for tonight
You turned to Dean. “Let’s head back to the motel and strategize before the party.”
He grinned and wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. “Oh, strategize. Is that what we’re calling it these days?”
“Oh, God,” Sam groaned, rolling his eyes. “Must you?”
“Yeah, Sammy, I must. Trust me, when you get a smoking hot wife, you’ll be thinking about the same thing.”
You laughed and playfully hit Dean’s arm. “Stop it. I really meant strategize and you know it. We need a plan for how we’re going to approach this party. It’s a golden opportunity to find the person responsible for the deaths.”
“Okay, okay,” Dean nodded. “Let’s go.”
He led the way to the Impala and quickly drove back to the motel, where the two of you made your way to your room. “So, how should we handle this? Should we divide and conquer or tackle the room together?”
You waited, but Dean didn’t answer, so you turned around to find him leaning against the door, smiling at you. “What...” you asked suspiciously.
“Nothing. Just admiring my beautiful wife.”
“Dean...” you blushed, looking down. “Come on, stop it.”
He shook his head and moved towards you, putting his hands on your hips. “Nuh uh...Now, let’s take a break. We’ll have plenty of time for strategizing later.”
You smiled and leaned up to kiss him, but you were interrupted by your phone ringing. What do you do?
You turned towards Melody. “All of the people who died, did they have anything in common, anyone who might want to hurt them?”
She looked down, a blush spreading over her cheeks. “Well, there was a rumor that Jackilyn and Professor Jacobs had a little...thing, but I’m sure it was nothing. Besides, Jackilyn didn’t even know the first woman that died. She was a professor in another department!”
You thought about this for a second before getting an idea. You quickly thanked the girls for their help and ran to the other side of the library where the computers were. Logging on, you typed Professor Jacob’s name into the search engine, only to find a recent divorce filing for him in the local court. “Bingo!” you whispered, and you ran outside to call your brothers.
Dean answered on the second ring. “Hey, what’s going on?”
“I think I figured it out. The second victim, the professor, he was going through a divorce, and, apparently, he and the third victim had something going on.”
“What, like an affair?”
“Yes, like an affair. It’s been known to happen, Dean.”
Sam came on next. “Do you think he was involved with the first victim too?”
“Maybe,” you said. “And, maybe his wife decided to take them out the magical way, if you know what I mean.”
“Great!” Dean yelled. “Let’s go gank her. Where do you think she is?”
“Let’s walk around campus,” you said. “Get the lay of the land.”
Dean nodded and moved aside, letting you get out of the car before he took up his place beside you as you started to walk across the sprawling college campus. “So, what are we looking for?” you asked.
Dean shrugged. “I don’t know. Anything out of the ordinary, I guess. We can’t officially play professor until Sam gets the papers.”
“Mmm,” you hummed, nodding and letting your eyes sweep across the campus, where you zeroed in on a large group of students standing across the quad. “Hmm, maybe we should start there...”
You turned, making a beeline for the group, and your pulse quickened as you closed in enough to hear them. “We have to do something before someone else dies! These deaths are not an accident. We need to protect ourselves.”
You looked back at Dean and grinned before putting on your best worried face and turning towards the group. “Sorry to interrupt, but did you just say deaths? Are we in danger?”
The man who looked to be the leader turned to you and nodded vigorously. “They may say we’re not but 3 people have died here in the last week. We think the college is doing something to cause them.”
Another girl spoke up. “Maybe they’re hazing the kids. I mean, all the boys who died were pledging the fraternity.”
So, someone’s targeting pledges, you thought. I bet it’s...

B visit the dorms
“We should go visit the dorms.”
Jack raised his eyebrows in confusion. “The dorms?”
Dean laughed while Sam smile and turned back to him. “It’s where the students at the college live.”
Cas shook his head. “Why would you want to go there? None of the victims died at the ‘dorms’.”
You grinned. “If anyone knows anything about who’s causing the deaths, it’s the students in the dorms. They’re the most likely to be tied into the rumor mill.”
Dean smiled and shook his finger at you, nodding his head. “Nevaeh’s got a point. That’s fantastic.”
“Alright, Jack, let’s go,” you said, taking his hand and pulling him out of the car. You made your way over to the dorms, Jack in tow, and soon, you were waiting just inside the entrance of the building for the next step.
Jack read the sign on the wall out loud. “This says 1st floor- girls, 2nd floor- boys, and 3rd floor- residence assistants. Where should we go?”
You continued to head up the stairs and right into the library, knowing that this central location was the best chance you had to find as many people to investigate as possible.
As soon as you opened the door, you disconnected the bluetooth, leaving you alone. You knew your brothers were only one call away, but every decision from here on out was up to you, and, frankly, it was a little nerve wracking. If you screwed up or got in trouble, the only one here to back you up was you. So, you knew you had to be careful.
You took a deep breath and surveyed the room, thinking about where to start. There were groups of students spread out all over the two story library, so it seemed a little overwhelming. How could you possibly know where to start looking for a monster?
But, as if the universe had heard you, you suddenly heard the sounds of a frenzied, whispered conversation float over to you from the table by the window. “Can you believe it?! I can’t believe she just died, especially so soon after Professor Jacobs. It’s so tragic!”
“Tragic?! It’s more than tragic, Melody. Jackilyn had her whole life ahead of her. What could make a healthy 20 year old just die?”
You walked up to the two young girls who were talking and spoke up. “Sorry, I couldn’t help but overhear. Did you say someone died here?”
The first girl, Melody, turned to you. “Yes! It was the creepiest thing. My roommate, Jackilyn, they said she had a heart attack, but what college student has a heart attack?”
The second girl turned to you and nodded. “Yeah, and it’s the third heart attack on campus this week! Maybe it’s something in the water. Maybe it’s contagious!”
You paused to consider what the girls had said. 3 heart attacks. What kind of monster could cause that?
You looked after Dean for a second, before letting out a steadying breath and heading to your room to get your bag. Whatever was between you and Dean could wait, because this case was what was the most important right now. 3 people were dead and you weren’t going to let anyone else join them.
You got to the Impala first, but it wasn’t long before Sam and Dean walked in together, taking their usual spots in the front. “So, Nicolle,” Dean said, meeting your eyes in the rear view mirror, “what’re you going to be a professor of anyway?”
“I don’t know,” you whispered, settling back against the seat and closing your eyes. “Maybe history or something? Does it really matter? It’s not like I’m really going to be teaching. I’m just pretending until we find the monster.”
“Still, you could do something fun with it.”
“Ha, maybe,” you laughed. “Maybe I’ll be the professor of Netflix bingeing.”
Dean chuckled and turned the ignition, letting the Impala roar to life. You listened to the familiar hum for a second before letting yourself drift off to sleep.
Hours later, Dean shook you awake, gently calling your name. “Nicolle, we’re here.”
Your eyes fluttered open and you smiled at the sound of his voice. “Hey.”
“Hey,” he whispered back. “Time to get to work.”
You nodded and sat up. “Where’s Sam?”
“He went to the copy place to get your ‘credentials’. What d’you want to do first?”
A) Do some more research on the case
B) Walk around campus
C) Go talk to some of the professors and students in the classes
@tricksterdean replied to your post “@tricksterdean replied to your post “Back to School- Week 2” B) a...”
A) A witch
“It must be a witch,” Dean said. “With all their stupid bodily fluids, they’re the only ones powerful enough, and creepy enough, to make the deaths look natural.”
You nodded and patted his shoulder sympathetically as a shudder passed through him. “That makes sense. There’s a good chance that it’s witches. It definitely fits their M.O. Now, we just have to find the witch.”
Sam nodded. “Okay, let’s get going. Ashton’s about 3 hours away, so, if we leave right now, we should make it by nightfall. Witches here we come.”
After a night in a cheap motel room just outside of the university, you and Dean headed to the admissions office, where Sam was waiting, having arrived an hour earlier to lay the groundwork.
“Hello, Mr...uh...Seger,” you said as you read Sam’s name tag, smiling softly at the alias he had chosen. “We’re Professors Page and Jones...”
“Yes,” Sam said loudly so everyone could hear. “The visiting professors from St. Thomas. We’re very happy to have you here.”
Dean smiled and dropped his voice to a whisper only the three of you could hear. “Smooth, Sammy, real smooth.”
“Shut up,” he whispered back before raising his voice again. “I have your class schedules right here, and the other professors have suggested a little get together this evening so you’ll get a chance to meet everyone.”
“Well that’s lucky,” you laughed.
What do you do next?
A) Go meet some students
B) Go try to meet some of the other professors early
C) Head back to the motel with Dean to strategize for tonight
“A professor,” you replied, dropping your gaze from Dean’s before his teasing smile gave you too many butterflies. “If I’m a professor, I’ll still be able to talk to the students while getting in close to the faculty. That way, we can find the monster no matter where it’s hiding.”
“That’s a good idea,” Sam said. “Especially since the victims have been students and faculty. We have no idea what the common link between them is, so we should cast a wide net.”
“Alright, let’s get going,” you said, standing up. “The sooner we get to the school, the faster we can catch this guy.”
Dean stood up and moved in close to you, his chest just inches away from yours. “Just promise me you’ll be careful, okay? Undercover work is dangerous and I don’t want you to...just promise me.”
You were all ready to stand up to him and insist that you could, in fact, take care of yourself, but you made the mistake of looking up and meeting his eyes, the only eyes in the world that wipe away all of your defenses and cut straight to your soul. “I promise,” you whispered, holding his gaze until Sam coughed behind you.
“Uh, okay,” Sam muttered. “I’ll meet you two at the car, huh?”
Dean broke the stare first, looking up and over your shoulder at his brother. “Yeah, Sammy. We’ll go grab our stuff and be right there.” He smiled down at you before quickly walking down the hallway to his room.
@tricksterdean replied to your post “Back to School- Week 2”
B) a professor❤
You draped your arm across your husband’s lap and smiled at him. “A professor, and so are you. We can’t pass as students without going back in time about 10 years, so we should do what looks most inconspicuous.”
Dean grinned and put his hand on yours, squeezing softly. “Okay. As long as I don’t have to be a gym teacher again.”
“Aw, but I love those shorts,” you pleaded, laughing when a look of horror came over his face. “No, you don’t have to do gym. You can say you’re the new car mechanics professor.”
“Sweet!” he yelled, his eyes lighting up. He turned to Sammy and smiled. “Maybe you can be professor of rabbit food or boring ancient stuff no one cares about.”
“Haha, very funny,” he groaned, but you caught him smile. “I was thinking of going undercover in the administration. Make sure you two don’t run into any problems.”
“Good idea,” you said, nodding. “When we get there, you can get us some classes to teach so we won’t raise any suspicions when we’re talking to the other professors or the students. Now, the real question is, what are we looking for? What could be causing 3 natural looking deaths in a week?”
