"Look, it's the speech I give everybody! (Well, almost everybody!) Besides, how do I know ya won't make a meal outta us? We're not exactly high on the food chain, ya know!"
Speaking of which, what was he? Timon's first guess was a crocodile but they generally didn't have horns and--what the heck was he doing?
"HEY!"
He scurried over to his companion, making sure that he was okay and dusting him off before rolling his eyes at the dragonfly. Well, that explained A LOT.
"Gee, what gave it away...?"
Spyro snorted, releasing a puff of smoke from his nostrils. It spirlled away into the humid jungle air as the dragonfly continued buzzing angrily above them
"Calm down, Sparx! Are ya okay?"
Sparx slowly calmed down and buzzed out something Spyro understood. The dragon turned back to answer the little animal with a frown.
"Sorry I had to tackle the big guy, but this is my buddy and he's not for eating, okay? His name is Sparx. Oh, and I'm Spyro."
"Wait, huh? Are you a dinosaur or uh, a dragon without wings? 'Cause a lot of the dinosaurs I've come across weren't so friendly. Some of 'em even had guns."

“Skateboarding?" Ears perk in interest. "Uhh nope! Never heard of it.”
"Never, huh? Well, it's your lucky day pal 'cause I was lookin' for some new competition. Hunter's great but he can't keep up with a dragon. Maybe you can? Heh. Follow me!"
Without explaining anything, Spyro charged off toward a nearby portal and hopped into the swirling magic inside.
If Thor followed along, he would find himself in a huge skatepark surrounded by towering castles.
"GIVE IT TIME, YOU PROBABLY WILL." ENCOURAGES the humble razewing, chuffing as he shifts where he stands. "Wings as big as these did not grow in completely on your own, you know. But with the right support to lift you up, you'll grow fine ones eventually."
He outstretches one wing, revealing the pale unders across which star-studded blue markings stretch. "I've flown fast enough that the wind struggles to keep up with me. It took a while for me to get used to such swiftness, though. I didn't always have such a wingspan."
The smaller dragon flares his own little wings as the blue ones shadow him like a ornate umbrella. He gazes upward with awestruck eyes. "Woooaaahhh!" He repeats with increased enthusiasm.
Undeterred he glances back at his own wings and grins up at the other confidently. "Y'know mine have been getting bigger! I use 'em a lot, so I can't wait until they're big and strong! And hey, promise me we'll have an all out race when I'm all grown up!"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, one thing at a time, kid! An' before ya ask--no, ya can't eat me! Ya can't eat the warthog either! Now that we've gotten that outta the way, where's your home? Nooo...can't say that I have! (One sec!) Hey Pumbaa, ya seen a dragonfly anywhere?"
He blinks at the little mammal blankly. "Dude. Why would I eat you? I mean, geez, your buddy's bigger than me." He tilts his head up at the larger animal before gasping sharply and charging the unwitting warthog. Only enough to wind him and--
Out pops a glowing insect from the hog's mouth!
It began buzzing around angrily.
"Lemme guess, you guys eat bugs around here.."
"Wooahh, I hope I get as big as you when I'm all grown up! How fast can 'ya fly with wings that huge?"

"Hey, do you live around here? I went through a broken portal and now I can't find my way home. Have you seen any sorta biiiig archways with swirly magic inside? --Or uh, a little glowing dragonfly?"

"It's a superfly portal. Young dragons use 'em to learn how to fly while their wings are still small. But, y'know... they can make anyone fly, wings or not. I know a cheetah who uses 'em to race me."

Woke up after dreaming of Spyro. We are so BACK, gamers.

OKAY OKAY, so thoughts on the reveal?
Spyro has clearly grown a little since YotD. His wings are much bigger and more developed! It looks like he can fly freely now without power ups for his wings!
His head frill is also bigger and more flexible. His back spines also seems to have flattened to make him more aerodynamic. My boy is built to FLY.
We don't know the villain yet but it looks like the stakes are higher since Spyro seems to be stranded. Even Sparx is nowhere to be seen. We only see a tiny glimpse of gameplay though, so who knows yet.
