I've seen many people ask how to get the audiobook for "It's not a cult" outside the UK. This is what I did (all legal and supporting the author!).
----Get Tunnelbear! It's a VPN I've been using for years and it's never failed me. Tunnelbear gives you a few free megas every month, which are enough to just access Amazon. Be sure to close everything else on the computer. And yeah, technically you can do this on your phone, but as we all know, controlling the amount of megas going out is harder because of all the apps and notifs. Close your browser, open Tunnelbear, and connect to the UK.
----Enter amazon.uk (.uk! that's important!) and search for the book. Here you can purchase it normally at full price, or choose Audible. If you've never used Audible before, choose free trial since it gives you a free credit to exchange for one book. If you've already used that free trial, you can make a new Amazon account just for this. OR! You can take advantage of the UK promo, they have the first three premium months for just one euro per month! That means three very cheap credits for three books (or fewer, if you cancel before)
----You can listen to the book on the Amazon app, but I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm trying to avoid Amazon and only use it when there's no other choice (like this). So instead of using their stupid app, download the file on the book's audible page. You'll see it's a .aax file. No problem, you can search "aax to mp3" and get thousands of possible software options that can transform the file. I used this browser version. THIS IS NOT PIRACY. As long as you don't pass the file to other people, you're just doing a backup for yourself. You have the right to listen to your file in whatever device you want. Once you're sure your file is nice and ready, remember to cancel the subscription and remove your card information if you don't plan to use audible again!
If I had a nickel for every time my blorbo from a show is a gorgeous blue-eyed face with a big mouth who said NOPE to their rich family's traditional life to instead get on the stage and pursue fame while collecting too many fucking outfits because they like the fine things in life and carrying a notebook for those moments of inspiration (while their black-leathered grumpy BFF rolls their eyes at them)... I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
