brooklynluna:
“Selling the place?” Luna narrowed her eyes before pouring some vodka over a rag to wipe the blood off her. She glanced at him with a scoff. “Oh believe me, we’ve been getting offers. No one’s gonna want to keep that place affordable if there was an opportunity for more money to be made. Sure, it’s a lot of work but Grandmother sold her mansion just to buy the place and help out the neighborhood. I won’t take that away from her.”
Though she did not see it in his face, she could sense his slight concern. It was difficult to find some time alone for each other and Luna could not help but feel some guilt for not being able to make some effort to put her busy schedule aside. It was not the first time she heard that she worked too hard. “Yeah, yeah, I know.” With a roll of her eyes and a slight chuckle, she reassured him. “Besides, the only thing that’s changed is I don’t need to run as much errands as before. I have Kite to do that for me now so I guess it’s possible to take a break. Maybe you could too.”
“Just an idea,” Spot said as he held his hands up defensively. She was right. Some guy with deep pockets would buy the place and turn it into his own private residence or make it some high-end hotel.
He chuckled after wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. “I’ll take a break as soon as I finish sealin’ this Union’s deal. If he doesn’t, we’re goin’ on strike.” There was a small smirk on his lips as he went back in time. If only he knew that the Newsboys’ strike would not be his only strike. He organized walk-outs, sit-ins, and had a whole factory not show up until a compromise was met. This next one was going to be tough.
“How about we make a deal. I finish this job and you and me will take a break for a full 24 hours. No work. No errands.”
