Raw Kelp Noodle Pad Thai - In a blender, mix: 3 tbsp tahini 2 tbsp Nama Shoyu (or tamari) 3-4 dried apricots 1 tsp Thai green curry powder 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar 1/4 cup water Pour mixture over raw kelp noodles and add chopped greens, julienned carrots and bell peppers. Top it off with lime juice, crushed (sprouted) pumpkin seeds and hot sauce, if you like spice! I want to apologize to everyone for slacking big time on my blog posts! I've been so preoccupied with my hair salon and obviously being a mommy! They both take up a lot of my time! I have lots of new ideas that I'd love to share with y'all. I also wanted to start adding bits and pieces of my decorating and mommy life. Coming soon, my friends! Peace and love, -Kristin
Raw "tuna" sandwiches! In a blender, mix: -1 cup soaked sunflower seeds -1 apple -1 tsp lemon juice -1/4 a small onion - 1 tbsp wakame (dried seaweed) After blending, add 1/2 cup cooked quinoa and hot sauce if you like spice! Enjoy alone, on a wrap, in a salad or make cutie sandwiches like I did using cucumbers and tomatoes! Ps. My 9 month old LOVES this!
Tis the season for raw applesauce! Recipe coming very soon!! Xo
Apple Pie Oatmeal Bake- recipe coming soon!
I recently discovered my love for baba ganoush. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure of what it even was! Learn something new everyday! Here's how I made mine- 1 eggplant, baked juice of 1 lemon 3 garlic cloves 1 cup chickpeas 1/2 cup olive oil 3 tbsp tahini small handful of fresh parsley couple pinches of sea salt or kelp scrape out the insides of your eggplant and add it to the rest of your ingredients in a blender. Mix till smooth. Tastes best when chilled a bit and add chili powder or hot pepper flakes to spice it up!
“As far as eating is concerned, humans are the most stupid animals on the planet. We kill billions of wild animals to protect the animals that we eat. We are destroying our environment to feed the animals that we eat. We spend more time, money and resources fattening up the animals that we eat, than we do feeding humans who are dying of hunger. The greatest irony of this is that after all the expenses of raising these animals, we eat them; and they kill us slowly… And rather than recognize this madness, we torture and murder millions of other animals to find cure to diseases caused by eating animals in the first place.” -Mike Anderson
My new favorite smoothie.
When your kitchen countertop hands you soaked cashews, make raw cashew yogurt! 1/2 cup soaked cashews | 1 tbsp maple syrup | 1/2 tsp coconut oil | water as needed Blend in food processor, then refrigerate till cool. I've been really into making ice pops these days! They're the absolute PERFECT treat! Pop of the week- Strawberry Pineapple Blueberry Purée each fruit individually using a food processor or blender. Add liquid such as green tea, non-dairy milk, carrot juice etc. to make purée smoother, but not too much or it'll be too runny to stay separated! Freeze and enjoy!
Creamy Sweet Potato Soup - In a blender, mix: -3 (baked and peeled) sweet potatoes -2 cups original hemp milk -1 cup water -3/4 tsp fresh ginger In a pot, heat: -2 minced garlic cloves -2 tbsp olive oil -juice of 1/2 lemon -pinch or two of cayenne -pinch of sea salt -1/2 tsp kelp seasoning Once your sweet potato blend is smooth, add mixture into pot and cook on low for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. When done, top with some gluten-free, vegan crackers and avocado! Warning: This soup is bowl-licking delicious. :)
Antioxidant Pops! Fill ice pop molds 1/2 way with cooled green tea, then fill the rest with fresh, organic blueberries, strawberries and bananas until mold is full. Freeze for a few hours or overnight and you'll have yourself a healthy, refreshing snack!
Coconut Ice Pops - 1 can organic, light coconut milk 3 bananas 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 tbsp hemp seeds 1/2 cup almonds Mix all ingredients in a blender and pour into ice pop molds. When all frozen and ready, wet your pops with water and dip in toasted coconut flakes! Mmm! Delish!
Kale-Pesto Spaghetti Squash- For the pesto- 1 handful of baby kale | 10-12 fresh basil leaves | 1 garlic clove | 1/2 cup olive oil | juice of 1/2 lemon | 1/4 tsp kelp seasoning | pinch of sea salt mix all ingredients in a food processor and enjoy over spaghetti squash, grilled veggies, on crackers, pasta.. The possibilities are endless!
When does your cookbook launch and what will be the price. Btw I love following you on IG. Your meals are such an inspiration to me.
Hi! I'm not sure what the process is after I'm done creating my cookbook. It may take a couple of months, but I'm going to shoot for January 2014. I know that seems like forever away, but I promise it'll be worth the wait! The cost should probably be around $15-$20. Thank you for following!
Pasta Fagioli - Full recipe will be in my cookbook, but here are the ingredients I worked with: Brown rice pasta Cannellini beans Marinara sauce Low sodium vegetable broth Celery Kale Onions Garlic Himalayan salt Kelp seasoning Olive oil
