Career

Pauls career took off during his education, studies and during his part time job. He studied at the Parsons School of Design, which specialised in arts and graphic design. Paul’s part time job required him to create stock images for a syndicate which they supplied their graphics for several newspapers and magazines. During this time Paul was able to develop his skills and understanding whilst having responsibilities and this motivated him to peruse this type of work. During his education and part time job he was able to build up an impressive portfolio, his portfolio work was largely based in German advertising style Sachplakat. Sachplakat is an early style of poster art, which started in the 1900s

Paul Rand.

Paul Rand was born in Peretz Rosebaum on the 15th of august 1914, he was one of the most famous designers for his logos for many different companies such as ABC news, IBM computers and UPS delivery group. Unfortunately Paul passed away due to cancer in 1996 and saw the graphic design industry deeply saddened by what happened due to the big impact that he had on the industry. Paul Rand is a world renowned graphic designer and has embedded a strong influence within the graphic design industry. His work has been all over the world from the side of parcel vans to world famous television News channels. His career started by him wanting to create different images that would be used in news papers and magazines from this he has moved into designing different logos and emblems for world famous companies.

Among these young Americans it seems to be that Paul Rand is one of the best and most capable [. . .] He is a painter, lecturer, industrial designer, [and] advertising artist who draws his knowledge and creativeness from the resources of this country. He is an idealist and a realist, using the language of the poet and business man. He thinks in terms of need and function. He is able to analyze his problems but his fantasy is boundless.

The International Typographic Style.

The International Typographic Styleis usually known as swiss style, it is a graphic design style that started in the Netherlands and Germany back in the 1920′s, the style became most popular in the 1950′s when more and more designers used it, the style is still inspiring designers today.

Stefan Sagmeiste influenced deign.

Stefan Sagmeister is a New York-based graphic designer and typographer, born in 1962, August 6th, he co-founded a design firm called Sagmeister & Walsh Inc he done this wth Jessica Walsh in New York City. He has designed album covers for some of the worlds biggest artists such as “Aerosmith” and “the Rolling Stones.”

“Bembo is a 1929 serif typeface created by the British branch of the Monotype Corporation and most commonly used for body text. It is a member of the "old-style" of serif fonts, with a regular or roman style based on a design cut around 1495 by Francesco Griffo for Venetian printer Aldus Manutius, sometimes generically called the "Aldine roman". Bembo is named for Manutius's first publication with it, a small 1496 book by the poet and cleric Pietro Bembo. The italic is based on work by Giovanni Antonio Tagliente, a calligrapher who worked as a printer the 1520s, after the time of Manutius and Griffo.”
