There was a lot of movement in the manor and Ororo had decided to go outside for a bit. She had started a garden and was checking on it. As she was watering the plants she heard footsteps coming towards her.
doreen spent her fair share of time perched up in the trees in the mansion yard, rendez vous-ing with the neighborhood squirrels who she couldn’t bring into the house along with her. she had just wrapped up a nice squirrel girl-to-girl squirrels meeting on female empowerment in the woodland rodent community, and was on her way back into the house. paying a little too much attention to tippy toe on her shoulder and not quite enough to her surroundings, clumsiness and lack of awareness led to her running right into a stranger. a startled “ oof ! ” escaped her before she was apologizing to the lady. “ sorry, thought i was alone out here ! ”
*· ☆,.- Jean Grey was usually no one who did panic easily. Not with everything the young woman had gone through already. But, truth to be told, the fact that she suddenly found herself in a total foreign place was a scary thing to happen, even for her.
The first impulse of the female was to call Scott, but her phone just made some dying noises, refusing to call anyone of the X-Men at this point, no matter how hard Jean was trying.
Opening herself up a little, she could hear the thoughts of others, who were obviously in a similar situation - lost, all alone, and utterly confused about what was happening to them.
“Hello,” finally there was another person walking along in the near distance, and Jean took her chance. “Excuse me, but this is urgent, please! I really need to know what is going on here!”
doreen green was never one to pass up someone in need. so naturally, the only thing that came between hearing someone call out, and turning her attention to them was a pause to share an inquisitive glance with tippy toe perched on her shoulder.
“what’s going on here? well umm...” the last word was drawn out as she racked her brain for any sensible way to explain the situation that the two of them ( and the rest of their time traveling partners ) had gotten themselves into.
“that’s kind of a long story, and i’m not exactly known for my top-notch story telling skills. you’d think i’d have it down pat as often as people are popping up, but - ” she was rambling “you’re in 1974 with like a lot of super awesome super heroes. we gotta stop an evil guy and his evil robots ( but what’s new there? )”

to anyone who knew doreen, it came as no surprise that she could be a bit of a klutz sometimes; she’d accidentally stepped on tippy toes’ tiny feet at least a few times. but today, someone else fell victim to her clumsiness − the smallest guardian of the galaxy. “oh shoot!” she winced at the realization that she had managed to completely overlook groot, accidentally kicking him over. “super sorry, little dude! you okay?” kneeling down to offer help up, she pressed a kiss to the top of his head. “there. all better?”
“ first time i’ve ever TIME TRAVELED , big fan , big fan ! i love the uh… the lack of internet , good fashion and junk food ! “
“ totally ! last time i got mysteriously flung back in time it was to the 60′s; the wardrobe-shopping montage was definitely a favorite. the lack of internet, though ? not something i was hoping to experience again. so when’s your home-year ? or is that one of those ‘mess with the whole space-time continuum’ questions i’m not supposed to ask ? ”
✕ — isn’t that doreen green wandering the streets of new york? civilians know them as squirrel girl and see them as a hero. as far as i know, the 20 year old stands alone and is rumoured to be pretty upbeat & determined. ( shannon purser / female / she/her )

while she’s not a mutant, doreen was born with her powers, so no horrific toxic spill accidents here! due to a (still unexplained) genetic modification, she was born with some squirrelly things!! including a rad fluffy prehensile tail, the ability to communicate with squirrels, and the proportionate strength and abilities of a squirrel!!
she always dreamt of becoming a super hero, but was never taken seriously. she was a super fangirl over heroes and always looked up to them, but every time she tried to ask any of the avengers or anyone else to train her she was turned down ))-:
did that stop her though?? of course not! she kept at it until she was good enough to be a hero all on her own! she did have some stints in a few groups, but inevitably decided to go to college, which landed her solo (aside from super friends she made across the way, of course!!!)

she’s an absolute angel ok!! while she’s all for fighting for justice and what’s right, she knows that things can be solved without fighting a lot of the time, and tries going that route whenever she thinks she can!! she genuinely believes in the good in people and she’s precious ))-:
