Sakae Ichinose was a good man, but was he a good father?
I’m sure he loves his son very much, but sometimes I just can’t help but wondering.
Despite the fact that Sakae was treated like garbage by the Hiiragi,he never thought of fight back. Because he doesnt have the courage to go against the Hiiragi.
But secretly,he hope that his prodigy son can over thrown the Hiiragi in the future. So he put guren through a series of harsh training since he was a child, constantly reminded him that he is Ichinose family’s only ticket out of this shitty situation, that he is their only hope to escape from the Hiiragi.
But this is too much a burden for a child to bear. Despite that guren is getting stronger physically, he cant help but feeling helpless and thought of himself as weak, because he was never strong enough to defeat the Hiiragi.
Not to mention Sakae never had the guts to stand up and protect guren everytime he got assaulted. Like that time when little guren was badly injured after the Hiiragis beat him up, Sakae still took guren to the Hiiragis and made him apologized, eventhough guren was the victim here. And he sure didn’t opposed when guren was experimented on.
I dont know, maybe l am judging Sakae too harshly. Sakae was a kind man, and he sure didnt deserves such horrible death. But i dont think he was a good father. Guren’s friends like shinya, goshi and mito did a better job at protecting him from the Hiiragi.
