“Hi, Logan.” Noah had a long history with the man. Having been brought to the x-men when they were merely thirteen, they had looked towards him for guidance. They looked towards all the adults for guidance, but Logan a little more so. No longer were they the frightened thirteen year old kid who was afraid of their powers, but an adult who’s grown into their powers and has the confidence to use them (around other mutants). “I’m not taking you away from x-men stuff, right?” @vitaphobic

Ever since Mikaela started dating Leah almost two years ago, she started integrating into her family. And for someone who’s only family consisted of her father (who was often in and out of prison), that meant the world to Mikaela. “Hi, have you eaten? I brought some lunch.” Mikaela was waiting on Leah to get there so they could go out for the evening, but she wanted to stop by and bring something for Leonard too. @thanatophobiic

Aiden grinned at her. Having more social interaction with the friends he’s made over the past year has definitely helped with his tendency to isolate himself. He was so much better than he was in the beginning of the year he moved out here. “Sushi sounds good. Wanna go to our normal place or look around for something new?”

Noah’s lips quirked in a smile. From when they first met, it wasn’t expected that they would grow to be this close. But they had connected over the years, continued their friendship well after graduation. “Of course they started it. That’s good that no one died.” But they wondered if anyone got hurt in the process. “It feels like the battle never ends.”

Mikaela obliged immediately. She adored Leah, that much was clear. After dating for nearly two years, Mikaela felt the most comfortable with her girlfriend. Things just... made sense with her. They fit wonderfully and Mikaela couldn’t remember the last time she had been quite so happy.

but he couldn’t. not for demanding rights. not demanding what should have already been theirs already.

Noah was an activist for mutant rights, being a mutant themself. But work had prevented them from going. “I had wanted to go. Work wouldn’t let me get off for a mutant’s rights rally.” And Noah needed this job to get through college and pay their bills. They couldn’t afford to get fired. Things seemed so much easier when they were in school with the X-Men. “Nothing bad happened, right? I haven’t heard about any opposition met there...”

Aiden glanced towards Leah, a small smile on his face. In the year that he’d been in this new city away from his family, she reminded him of his younger sibling. “Is he okay? And thanks kiddo, let’s go get some dinner,” he said, standing up to grab his wallet.
