springasterism :
A muffled sigh escapes from him upon confirming that he was safe â for now, anyway. Lowering the notebook, Spica tucks it under his arm as he brings himself back onto his feet, meeting eye to eye (or as best as he can), with the not-so-stranger.Â
So their name was Mila? Though, it seemed that she wanted to use a nicknameâŠand something was telling him that the joke about extortion was absolutely not a joke. (But, hey, itâs probably best to go along with it, right?)
R-Right?
As Spica redraws his notebook out, there is one other fact that catches his attention; one he doesnât expect to hear, but with that information at hand, her appearance suddenly makes a bit more sense to him. Just a little.
âMy name is Spica Arcturus, a human.â he writes out; I donât have any preferable nicknames, but âSpicaâ works fine.â Marking the end of the sentence, they hesitate, then write their next words on a new area of the page.
âYou mentioned you were a Folfex. Thatâs something Iâve heard about where Iâm from, but Iâve never met one in person. Would you happen to be from the same lands I know, then? Do you know how you got here?âÂ
When Spica presents this, he appears nervous about addressing the fact, but his curiosity grants him enough courage to bring the fact up. To think, the same person he accidentally bumped into could be from where he once lived! If this was the case, maybe there would be a thing or two he could deduce from it
She studies the name sheâs been given- Spica? Itâs not that itâs such a super strange name, but...
Uh, she has no idea how to pronounce it, given that sheâs only reading it. Whatever, sheâll wing it- if itâs wrong sheâd hear about it sooner or later (or, she wouldnât, and in that case, it would be his own fault, and not hers).
âWell then! Su- Suh- Hrm. Suh-pee-ka it is! Spica! Yeah, thatâs easy enough to remember. Good job on that one pal.â
However, more so than Spicaâs name, there was another thing that was a lot more interesting to read. For different reasons than Milaâs usual ones, actually- not the kind of interesting you could bully someone with, but the type that actually piqued some of her curiousity. Like the discussing of magical theory or the circumstances around interplanar travel.
Especially since this subject quite heavily leaned to the latter. She hadnât met anyone here yet who had a familiarity with elves in the sense that they knew what Folfex specifically were- let alone to be from the same world as Mila herself.
âIn all my time here, I havenât run into even a single person who actually knew what the term âFolfexâ meant! So unless youâre from my kindâs original planet- which, youâre not, âcus you ainât an elf- you must be from my kindâs secondary planet! At least, I donât know of any other planets that us Folfex ended up on?â
Not to mention the fact that Mila herself was, in all honestly, a half-Folfex half-human, so... This guy definitely had to be from the same place, right?
âToo bad though, âcus I donât remember gettinâ here in any way. I just woke up, and ta-fucking-dah! There I was in a cheap motel! Last thing I had going for me was I went to bed at the guild after I ate double my share of chicken soup because I fooled some idiot into losing a bet with me.â
