This is my reaction when I find a cool fanfic but don't look at the header. And then I realise it's unfinished and the last chapter came out several years ago.

That agitating degrading defeated feeling of finding a new x reader to obsessively consume but the page keeps refreshing so you keep losing your spot and now u have to scroll for 10 min straight just to get all the way down to last year so I can read every possible fic I can… yeah I’m feeling it

Every morning I open Tumblr like it's the newspaper, searching for fanfiction.

people will insist humans are naturally selfish when feeding the birds is a common hobby. when there are wildlife hospitals you can call when you find an injured fox outside. do we get anything from helping wild animals? i don't think so. it's not personal. it's just nice. it's something we have the resources to do, so we do it. i think thats worth remembering.

Humans that help animals cross the road, humans that send everything they can when there's a disaster, humans that run into burning buildings to save strangers and their pets, humans that hug you and cry with you in a store when you get a bad phone call, humans that help dig your car out of the snow even if it makes them late to work, a thousand kindnesses with no expectation of reward.

There is more compassion than we know in humanity. Cruelty just has a better funded PR team.

the worst part is steve rogers WOULDN’T. he wouldn’t leave sam with the responsibility of the shield without being there to support him. he wouldn’t go back to a woman who died of old age, had her own life and told him to move on. he wouldn’t have ever, not even once, considered leaving bucky — aka his entire world wrapped up in one person — alone, especially after just getting him back. and he wouldn’t have decided that he’d fought the good fight enough and retire in suburbia in the decade epitomes for traditional values aka an antitheses to everything he stood for. the real steve rogers would legitimately hate the man marvel put on the screen in endgame. and yet. and yet
