Attending @zenkaikon as an alternate version of my #Pathfinder character, #LinnaeaGreenbriar (using my Helga Hufflepuff dress), today! I haven’t worn her to a convention in a while, but she’s my favourite #cosplay to take to @parenfaire! (Once again, I must mention how much I love that #Zenkaikon is #RenFaire -themed this year!) 💖✨🏰🌿 Linnaea is a NG half-elf cleric of Sarenrae & the diplomat & healer of the party. She may not use her scimitar much (my attack & damage rolls had nothing on our paladin), but she's pretty good with her spells! Toward the end of our campaign (Rise of the Runelords) our GM had our characters ascend to Mythic heroes, so Linnaea chose the Hierophant path. I envision her becoming a high priestess after the adventure ended and she returned to Lastwall. (Perhaps she’ll adventure again, but I see her staying at the temple for a while & helping other adventurers.) Finally finishing my “I finally saw The Nutcracker!!” row . . . a fortnight later? 💖🩰❄️🎄 Yes, I definitely wore one of my @blochdanceusa cardigans to see @ithacaballet! (Not shown: the Bloch mask I took off just for the picture. I’ve been living in these for the past year & I’d highly recommend them! They’re designed for dancers, so they’re very breathable & comfy—much better than the pleated homemade ones I was wearing the first year. I have them in several colours including some that match this cardigan & skintone ones for concerts!) The weekend before Christmas, I wore my new Sylphide Bow by @viscountessnyc to the theatre! 💖🎀 Fun fact: these bows have floral appliqué from actual stage-worn costumes from the Broadway Phantom of the Opera corps de ballet!! 🩰🥺) Any guesses where I wore my new bow? Finally finishing my #Christmas row a week later? Featuring #festive noms!! 💖🎄❄️ (& I’m going to attempt to post another row before I try to do my Top Nine??) My mum usually makes a Christmas roll / brazo de Reina this time of year—it’s definitely one of my favourite desserts! 💖🍓 {Swipe on IG to see the rest} Christmas Eve buffet noms & desserts (featuring lots of cheese—especially brie, my beloved—& berries!). Last year we decided to make our favourite homemade cookies instead of “Christmas cookies” from a mix & we did so again this year! (Truffles & petit fours are Swiss Colony.) 💖🎄 Christmas dinner! I made au gratin potatoes for our side (my phone keeps wanting to correct “au gratin” to AU, haha) & portabella mushrooms stuffed with quinoa & pecorino Romano cheese for myself (my parents had lamb). I’ve been *very* remiss in Christmas posting this year—especially since we’ve had our tree & the rest of our decorations up since just after Thanksgiving! (Alas, when do I ever post things in a timely manner??) One of my favourite traditions is the advent wreath. (This year, I chose pastel candles!) The main greenery & pine cones are an artificial wreath, but I supplemented with some natural pine bits from this year’s Christmas tree! I borrowed a few movies from my library for this weekend … but then I decided I really wanted to watch #LordoftheRings again instead … Paired with a fairly old bottle of @mount_hope Raspberry Mead which unfortunately isn’t sold anymore (the bottle hasn’t been opened for long, though! I’m still not sure when I crossed over from just Halloween costumes to actual cosplay, but I started this cosplay account 5 years ago today! 💖🎉 I only really have three cosplays that I’ve redone over the years: Aziraphale, Fluttershy, & “random Hogwarts student.” The picture on the left is my first version of Aziraphale from 2017 (picture is from @t2comiccon, although I first wore this to @syracusecomiccon). This was mostly a closet cosplay based on the book as the only thing I made was the bow tie & the only thing I thrifted was the coat. (The shoes, skirt, & Oxford shirt were from my closet.) I typed up Agnes Nutter’s prophesies from the book & pasted them inside a purchased leatherette journal and wrote the title on the cover with gold Sharpie (I should repost those pictures). The picture on the right is the most recent version, based on the miniseries & debuted at Salt City Comic Con 2019. Updates: purchased a blue Oxford shirt specifically for this cosplay, made my third bow tie, added the pocketwatch (given to my family by a family friend), & made the the frock coat & waistcoat. 💖😇📚☕️ Next updates for Aziraphale: I want to make a skirt instead of always borrowing my mum’s trousers! Also, I need to find a women’s waistcoat pattern so it fits better (& actually learn how to make the welt pockets).
