Damn, this whole thing was a mess. He tried to remain calm, and he tightened his arms around Emilie. She needed him to be strong right now, so he would do that for her.

“We need to get someone. We could get my mom?” he offered.

Emile said no more. Instead, she simply nodded her head at his suggestion. As long as her own parents did not end up involved, she would be happy and content in that. 

“O--Okay.”

“You could have died. What the hell were you thinking? Mom is going to go nuts!”

We got a little scathed within the incident didn’t we Emi? but we’re not going to tell anyone of it.

“In all honesty, I’m more scared of Dad than Mom..”

“Are you okay?” 

He’s full of shock, coming up on the bloody scene, but he’s also concerned. He moved closer to her, arms coming up to steady her. No matter what had happened, she was his first priority here, and he had to make sure that she was okay.

“It’s okay, Emilie. It’s okay. Breathe, okay?”

Felling Niklas’s hands upon her, Emilie took a deep breath. her eyes could not leave the body of The Snake. She’d killed him; actually killed her own Cousin. God knows what her parents were going to say.

She still somewhat hyperventilated as she finally sought solace within Niklas’s shoulder. Soft sobs slowly began to escape and her arms slowly wrapped themselves around him.

“I --I had to.. He almost killed Nico..”

“You killed it?”

That alone was hard to process. That wasn’t how things were supposed to go, not according to their grandmother, at any rate.

“Emi, are you crazy?”

She tried to force a nervous smile upon her features. She knew she’d just fucked up big time but her magic had not worked against him.

“I had no other choice Nico..”

“What?”

Nico stared at his sister in horror.

“Emilie, please tell me you didn’t do anything stupid.”

She swallowed nervously; hands rubbing over the other as she looked down at the floor.

“I --I shot The snake.. Shot him dead..   And well, Niklas saw..”

Emilie quickly dropped the gun as she noticed Niklas walking over. Her cousin laid upon the floor at her feet; blood slowly pooling around him. She’d had no choice in the matter but now she felt she’d be judged for everything.

“I -- I had no choice..”

She stuttered her words out; eyes looking over at her friend as the shock slowly set in and her feet stumbled about the spot she stood on.

We need to go after that snake that attacked Nico.

“Waverly. Stay at Nico’s side. I’ll go after our Cousin.. He’s a lot more sly than you think.. Plus he has magic on his side and I don’t want him hurting you. Nico would have my head if he hit you with his magic. At least him and I are evenly matched.”

“I get it. The whole “Waverly is my brother’s fiance and has no magic” thing but…if you won’t let me help…you know what? Forget it, I’ll deal with this on my own and in my own way.”

“Waverly.. I promised Nico I wouldn’t let you get hurt or go after him. PLEASE! Just this once, do as he wishes.. You’re to be his wife; his Queen.. If you go after our cousin, Nico will have my head.. Trust me when I say that I’ve got this covered.. Just look after Rora for me okay?”

Jane hadn’t wanted to do this, she had been hoping that she was never going to have to use the card she was about to play, it was almost entirely theory based, she hadn’t been born with it. But she reached out her hand, and the doors slammed shut.

“You are not going anywhere, because right now, you are acting exactly the way your father did before he got banished by your grandfather.”

Emilie’s eyes watched as the doors slammed shut before her head snapped back toward her mother. She shot a glare before allowing her palm to form a small star within. She’d break out if she had to right now.

“And if I go and defend my brother what will      you do?-- Banish me also? so be it!” 

She flung her formed star at her doors and broke a hole in them before quickly running out of them.

“And what is so important that you can’t be with your brother in ICU?”

Jane raised her eyebrows, and folded her arms, looking at her daughter with an expectant frown.

“Emilie, we are a family. And I get that things have been difficult for you lately, but you can’t keep pushing all of us away.”

“What is so important to me right now? --I’m going to deal with the snake mother!”

She knew her mother would disapprove of such a matter, but Emilie was going no matter what. Someone had to go.

“Look, we’ll discuss other problems later on. Right now I have an ass-hole to kick in to shape and I’m going to use Mjolnir to help”
