// sorry for yet another ooc post. I think my writing block is more mental, and it won't go away until I actually figure out how to get past it. it's not something that just waiting out will fix.

I feel like all my ideas are just derivative, that I'm just taking ideas from other franchises, friends, that nothing I do is actually mine. I know it's not true, the whole "no idea is original" thing and all that. but I'm struggling now to even think about my ideas or muses, without feeling defeated or unoriginal or that none of it is really good.

I just put my finger on the issue, and I'm not really sure how to go about getting over it. any advice would be appreciated, but in the mean time:

part of it is, my two main muses rn are from somewhere only one of my friends cares about. I still have an old url for them and if I do remake, I could focus more on them and basically taping the worldbuilding we got with duct tape, and other muses are there for people who don't mind me rambling in the corner and taking a hot minute.

I guess I just feel guilty for my interests lmao, and talking about them on my own damn blog- maybe a new place would assure me people there don't mind? idk.

the writers introduced such an interesting concept and possible alien world. such an interesting potential between max and jones. and just. overall a lot of interesting shit with jones. just to get rid of him so easily.

maybe it was a budget thing, or a writing thing. but they nerfed jones so much from how he's described vs. what we actually see. and not just described by himself, but by others too (nora and louise, noah sorta) so it's not just an ego thing. hell, if he was so strong that nora and louise felt they had to make a kid to kill so they could kill him by proxy, we sure as hell didn't see it.

Suffering from a vitamin kissy deficiency

Jones and Max both discovered their ability to heal by healing an animal.

Jones knew that his ability was dangerous, and he tried to keep it hidden, but as a child, he was extremely compassionate and hated to see anything in pain. He had the means to change it, so he did, when he thought no one was looking. After he was caught and forced to use his healing on prisoners, he blamed that compassion for his situation, and if he wanted to survive, he reasoned, he needed to get rid of it.

Max found an injured bird in their backyard, and in a panic, he healed it. Lucky for him, Isobel was the only one around to see it. He knew that he couldn't risk them getting caught, and so he did the best he could to hide all of his abilities, healing included, away. Instead of learning to control them, he did the best he could to suppress them, so he didn't put Isobel and Michael in danger, not even by accident. That didn't stop the guilt, every time he had to deal with an injured person at work. He avoids the hospital not just because of his fear of doctors, but because of the guilt over what he feels is his inaction.
