NASA Will Pay You $18,000 to Stay in Bed for 70 Straight Days
If you wanna get paid $18,000 for staying in bed and just relaxing then maybe you should participate in NASA’s bed studies. Participants will have to spend 70 straight days in bed, receiving $18,000 for the period of aggressive bodily atrophy.
Participants are allowed to play games, browse the internet and do anything that doesn’t involve you getting up.
This study is designed to achieve three core tasks:
1) Understanding how one’s changing physiology in space may affect the process of certain missions.
2) Understanding the impact of one’s physiological state on their ability to perform in particular tasks.
3) Preparing countermeasures to combat any impairment that these physiological conditions may impose

William Utermohlen
Artist William Utermohlen was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 1995. Over the course of roughly five years he drew these self portriats (starting at 1996) of himself.
Whether the cause for the change in his portraits was from the disease which made him forget what he looked like or due to the loss of artistic skills, this is extremely heartbreaking.

Common Mythconceptions
A group of Norwegian friends were base jumping when their makeshift bars came loose. When they saw this, they were all convinced that he died from either hitting the cliffside or the precipitous drop. Miraculously, he was able to deploy his parachute in time, but seeing this terrifying fall remains deeply unnerving.

This two-legged lamb was born in China and the farmer claimed he was inspired to save him because of his motivation to survive. The vet said that the birth defect may be a result of chemical pollution or even just genetic. “He may only have two legs but he gets around very quickly and is pretty steady on his feet. He follows me everywhere and I haven’t got the heart to slaughter him. He doesn’t mind (having two legs). He has such a friendly personality and I don’t think he even realises he’s disabled,” the farmer said.

The Moving Mannequins of the John Lawson House
Possibly the creepiest house in America, the John Lawson house is considered empty… aside from a number of mannequins with a habit of changing clothing and moving on their own during the night.
No one knows who lives there, if anyone does at all. In 1871 a train crashed near the house and ended up killing 22 people. The dolls are often found pointing towards the area of the crash site. The dolls often have strange objects in their hands as well, such as bird cages, towels, books, cups of potpourri, etc. These objects change places and positions as often as the mannequins do.
Sometimes at night you can see the light on inside, but it is a mystery as to who lives there but it’s certain that they have some kind of story to tell.

Poveglia Island
Also known as the most haunted island in the world was recently purchased for 704k by Luigi Brugnaro.
The island has a very eerie past. A major aspect of its past is that it was a dumping ground for plague victims.
There are buildings on the island that are built over plague burial grounds. Thats pretty much asking to be haunted.
“Work crews on nearby Lazaretto Vecchio were digging the foundation for a new museum when they came across one such grave pit, filled with the remains of more than 1,500 plague victims.”
When graves were dug up to add more bodies to them, they would often find bodies that were bloated and had a mouth full of blood. Their immediate conclusion was that the body was a vampire and was feasting on the blood of the dead. So, a stone or a brick would be placed in their mouth to stop them from eating. Of course, modern forensics has found that a build up of gases is the cause for the bloated body and the blood seeping mouth.
It was also used as a mental hospital and there are also rumors that a doctor engaged in inhumane experiments with his patients. Along with plague deaths and medical related deaths, there are also many suicide related deaths.
There is no doubt about this island’s haunting past, but now this island has a future. Brugnaro has bought (technically leased) the island for 99 years and plans to spend a small fortune to renovate it. Building stuff on a burial ground is always a good idea.

The Taman Shud Case also known as the Mystery of the Somerton Man (picture 1), is an unsolved of an unidentified man found dead at 6:30 a.m., 1 December 1948, on Somerton beach(picture 3) in Adelaide, S.Austrailia It is named for a phrase, tamam shud, meaning “ended” or “finished,” on a scrap of the final page of The Rubaiyat, found in the hidden pocket of the man’s trousers(picture 2).
People didn’t know either the identity of this man or the cause of death. The body was found intact, the feet were crossed pointing towards the sea, left arm was straight and right arm was bent double. An unlit cigarette was behind his ear and a half-smoked cigarette was on the right collar of his coat held in position by his cheek. The autopsy showed that a pastry was his last meal, but there was an unknown substance in there as well which made them believe that poison was the cause of death. But no poisons were found in the system upon further investigation.
Adding to the mystery, a copy of Khayyam’s collection was later found that contained a scribbled code in it believed to have been left by the dead man himself. There was however a phone number on the code which lead toa former nurse who, being recently married and now the mother of a toddler, requested that she be spared the embarrassment of being associated with a murder, and that her name not be disclosed. Incredibly, the police agreed. She claimed that, four years earlier, she gave the book to a man named Albert Boxall. Police, convinced that the mystery man was Boxall, were thrown for another loop in the weeks upcoming. Not only did the police find the real Mr. Boxall, alive and well, but he provided them with the copy of The Rubaiyat give to him by the unnamed nurse — with the phrase “Tamam Shud” still intact.
Due to the content of the Khayyam poem, many have come to believe that the message may represent a suicide note of sorts, but it remains uncracked, as does the case. One thing has been proven though the mystery man was the father of the unnamed nurse’s (illegitimate) son.
