WHERE: King’s Landing, Banquet Halls WHO: Daella Targaryen, Princess of Summerhall TAGGING: @flowrsrot
To be a Ruling Lady, or a Head of one’s House, you must sacrifice your time, your privacy and perhaps above all the personal relationships to your family brood. Ever since her arrival at King’s Landing, Cerelle had barely seen her children — Jocasta & Lancel — who were both prospective heirs to the Lannister name but also the drainage on her very soul. Motherhood, it seemed, had never come easy to the eldest daughter of Tybolt & Johanna, she who had preferred the metallic embrace of armour or the steel weight of a blade, over the gentle caress of babes who longed for their mother’s breast. No, Cerelle found that with the venture to the capitol, she found some inner peace that could not be explained away in one sentence; it was murked, a hybrid of reasons, and so Cerelle kept it at bay.
Meeting the honoured Princess of Summerhall, Cerelle remained poised in a floor length, crimson gown that trailed behind her in wave of blood-red silk, the hems trimmed in gold, the thread sewn to resemble flowers, or perhaps, the individual hairs of a lion’s mane. With the coming of new horizons, there was not one detail overlooked, especially since, the Seven Kingdoms now teetered on the edge of unrest. “Your grace,” the title parting her lips as a breath, soft and gentle as was foreign to her tongue, as Cerelle approached the infamous Dealla, born of Tyrell’s good fortune. “I’m glad we have found time to meet face to face, I feared I would miss you. It seems, the day rushes by without consequence... How do you do?” And though her smile was plain, it seemed, that the warmth did not spread to her gaze.
WHERE: King’s Landing, Gardens WHO: Shaera, of House Rogare TAGGING: @shesiren
The oasis of King’s Landings private gardens was the only sanctuary Cerelle sought to spend time in. The quarters assigned to her family were stretched thinly against the large, sprawling brood the Ruling Lady had thought fit to bring with her — and so, she sought some solace with her children and their governesses. Jocasta, her blind heir, hung onto the finger of her mother. Whilst Lancel, her deaf spare, remained in the arms of his guardian, his eyes large and wandering, as their chubby little faces turned upward, towards the heavy clouds and bursts of sunshine that tore the sky apart with its fiery grandeur.
Alas, she was not too disappointed to find the pace of Lady Shaera, the future Targaryen Princess. Her smile was comely, yet hesitant, as she passed her daughter back to her charge, muttering a word of thanks before she joined her hands against the tightly spun fabric of her bodice, walking towards this younger version of herself who seemed to overflow with potential. She was, she thought, just as she hoped Jocasta would someday become.
“Lady Shaera,” she welcomed, holding out her arms like a benevolent ruler, her gaze warm and sharp, her smile tinged with something more. “What a surprise, I feared I would have to seek you out.”
WHERE: King’s Landing, Lannister Quarters WHO: Charlysse Baratheon, Lady of Storm’s End TAGGING: @firecrownss
If one was meant to succeed the game set out for the ruling Lords and Ladies of the Seven Kingdoms, then one must seek the supportive gesture of alliances. Cerelle Lannister, who came from a long line of ambitious and well-met rulers of the Westerlands, was no different to her kin — but some, would be quite sincere in retelling that the friendship that blossomed between a Baratheon and a Lannister was quite unseemly, or perhaps, too close to home.
When they met, it was as if nothing had changed, as if they had only left the room for a second, rather than having spent many years apart from one another. But, there they met again, Cerelle strewn across a chair, her hands dripping over the edge, her hair undone around her face, her chest heavy with supposed goodbyes that’d come later. Of course, Cerelle didn’t care for anything official, for this so-called friendship to be inscribed in stone, rather she’d prefer it to fly under the radar, to act with discretion.
Yet, there she sat, unwound from her usually perfect appearance, in favour of practising a casual demeanor before her friend, her lover, her enemy of state. “You should wear more red, it’d suit you,” Cerelle mentioned without fuss, taking a goblet to sup at the good wine.
WHERE: King’s Landing, Lannister Quarters WHO: Myrcella Lannister, Lady of Casterly Rock TAGGING: @godeswood
The heat of King’s Landing bled through the stone alcove of her private quarters, reminding her and the large brood of Lannisters that they were no longer atop Casterly Rock, but instead in the hellfire of the jaw set by ancient dragons. No, Cerelle was not in the least bit comfortable being there, for she would’ve preferred to be amongst the Westerlands, blowing on the embers that began to relight beneath the passion of such people. Though a daughter, and a widowed lady at that, Cerelle boasted a military tactic that lay next to none, and sought to inspire the noble-houses of the West to aid her in the ultimate goal — independence. She had spent the last few days whispering into the ears of whoever she could find, whilst also putting on a charming smile to whomever she could not trust, an expression that was sometimes directed toward her own kin, for as much as she wanted to cherish her relationships, she knew that the Lannisters were not known for unconditional loyalty.
Approaching her sister, however, Cerelle managed a smile, gesturing for a servant to bring the wine to the alcove that split open onto the horizon, where they could hear the birds sing and the waters lap beneath the general hurrah of over-population. “You look nice,” she commented, her eyes yet focused on her sister’s own gaze, before putting a hand to her arm. Her children, Jocasta and Lancel, would be several floors beneath them, with pudding and lessons — so it gave Cerelle room to ponder on the wellbeing of her next closest of kin. “Tell me, darling, do you feel safe?”

open starter / aegon targaryen. when: the morning after the ball, some time after the news was announced that the city was locked down. | where: somewhere in the red keep, up to you.
he could feel the tension in the air. not only was there a murderer on the loose but due to his father’s decision there were dozens of upset nobles. aegon could practically see the kindling on the pier. so he began making the rounds, taking the time to meet with the families while his father stewed in his anger. let him, aegon couldn’t help but think, let the realm see who will not only protect the people but care for them. and perhaps these conversations would reveal some key information. ❝ how is your family faring? ❞ he spoke warmly. ❝ if there is anything you need, i will make sure you have it. we wish for you to be both comfortable and safe during your stay despite the unfortunate turn of events. ❞
She had not been given the chance, as of that moment, to reconvene with her husband - and so, his take on the evening had yet to be heard. For she had kept her distance in fear of his wrath, wanting to keep a simmering of peace that’d allow her own consumption of the evening. It was by chance, then, that she found herself in the company of Aegon Targaryen, a chance that Awren would not let slip between her delicate, hard-working fingers. With a hand against her chest, she smiled and bowed her head with the tendrils of respect, her voice soft and warm, almost welcoming, before her lips parted. She knew that the Vale could be an important piece of the puzzle to any Targaryen who saw its might, and if she played her cards right, perhaps she could play her part, in turn. “Thank you, my lord. You have put my mind at ease, of which I must praise you. But I ask, from my soul to your own, how are yours?”
stcrfrost:
the reaction she receives sobers her slightly, annoyance settling in. she is easily a prickly women, often coated in an icy exterior that only seemed to melt for her family and those she was closest to. or when she’s drunk, which she’s well on her to being. she’s not an easily shocked woman either, bold in what she says and of her opinions, that fact being both a blessing and a curse in the capital. it’s why the question only leaves her raising a brow and levelling the other with her gaze. “why bother to choose between two things i get to enjoy plenty? that’s nonsensical.”
The refusal to answer, or the slovenly choice to pick both, raised Cerelle’s spirits. She had expected the individual to falter before the direct question, to shift into nothing but apologies and polite, boring smiles. So, this answer (alongside an almost tease that she could be brought wine or sex without a fight), left Cerelle’s smile to slowly creep onto her face with an inch, a slither, of respect. “A good answer, even if it s a little greedy. I think I’d have said the same, if given a chance,” Cerelle mused, before taking the wine on offer, putting it to her lips to sip generously, her eyes stuck upon the individual’s masquerade. “I would ask who you are, but I think that’s against the point.”

“YES , UNFORUNATELY.” A SMALL frown graced her pale face , an oddly childish one for a girl of her standing. A soft she-wolf amongst the iron , Shireen had found herself , and that showed in how her brows furrowed , her frown was almost perpetual with her eyes. “I’m disappointed as well.” Lemon Cakes were her favorite , they never were in short supply at Hornhill. “Rose Water?” Shireen questioned , looking towards the sweet cakes , then to the identical one sitting on the platter to grab. “Are they just… rose flavored?” Shireen didn’t really understand , per say.
“Water infused with rose petals... Have you never tried them?” Awren asked, an eyebrow thus quirked upwards before taking one of the shortbreads, offering it to the girl with a gentle, almost caring smile. Whoever it was who lay behind the mask, Awren thought them sheltered, or at least, refrained from the simple pleasures of foreign tastes. Pursing her lips, the expression obvious from beneath her sea-green masquerade, Awren hmumed. “They’re simply delicious...”

Open starter Nymella Martell, Ruling Princess of Dorne. The refreshments table, During King Lucerys’ masquerade.
𝐍𝐘𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀 was smiling and breathless when she left the dance floor and reached the refreshments table. Though she would most likely not admit it later, this whole ordeal was proving to be more entertaining than she had initially expected it to be. Sure, it still did not shine a light to the parties and balls held at Sunspear, but it was not the dull affair she remembered the Crown’s balls to be.
The table was full of sweets and fruit and wine, among the many delicacies, she spotted a treat she simply could not resist. “You should do well to try this if you haven’t,” she spoke mindlessly to the person besides her as she reached for one of the candied blood oranges crowning a pile of other fruits. “I can vow to this, it is unlike anything else in this table.”
“Yes, I know,” Cerelle groaned, her posture almost inanimate as she stared out into the crowd, watching as all manners of costumes fluttered one way and then the other. She had always enjoyed the parties of Casterly Rock, but this celebration for a King she did not like or trust seemed fruitless. With waves of crimson, gold and butter blonde hair, the ruling Lady of the Westerlands turned to face the other lady — her ice-curdled gaze hoping to freeze the other to the spot. “You look like you are having fun, how nice. King’s Landing must be a far cry from Dorne, have you been here before now?”

SHIREEN HAD NEVER BEEN one for balls. They were stuffy , in her humble opinion , and being warded in the Iron Isles only confirmed what she thought already. This mask was what was truly bothering her as well , it itches her nose and yet she knew that if her family saw her , she would be scolded. As if she was not of higher rank than her own brother. So this is how she found herself at the refreshment table for most of the night , not realizing that somebody else had wanted by. “Oh— are you looking for something? The lemon cakes have gone missing , though.”
“They have gone missing? What a shame,” Awren moaned, taking to the table with the wash of blue and green of her masquerade outfit brushing past the girl who had been blessed with such lovely hair — a Targaryen? A Lannister? There were so many names and people to remember that Awren felt dizzy with prospective adventures, for each person in that room represented a doorway into a new scenario that she, herself, had never faced before. After all, she had been kept to the Witch Isle for so long that she barely knew what had graced the new world... It had taken an eternity, or so it had felt, to understand the history of the Vale, at all! With the fat pout of her lips, long — elegant fingers spread towards a plate of some other sweetened cakes, drawing one up into her hand to smell carefully beneath her nose. “Ah, rose water, I think. Why don’t you try one of these?”
stcrfrost:
open for : everyone !
she has a satisfied smile on her face as she sips at her wine. an arbor red of course, just as good as what she’d grown up sneaking sips of when she was just old enough to start growing curious about alcohol. she figures if she had the headache of having to deal with sorting the expenses of this whole thing, she may as well enjoy her night. she’s slightly buzzed on wine and still mildly breathless from the number of times her husband had twirled her on the dancefloor, though she’s easily in need of a break. she drops down into an open seat with very little care for who was beside her. “tell me honestly, is this not the best wine you’ve ever tasted?”
Again, she thought, the conversation turned to the wine. Cerelle rolled her eyes so deeply into the dark sockets of her skull that she thought herself almost lost to the blunt, bottomless realm of shadows. Alas, her eyelids fluttered, thus meeting the other’s pleasant gaze. No, she thought, it was not the best wine she had ever tasted — and even if it was, she would deny it with a blunt snap of her teeth, for there was no way in the seven hells that she’d agree with such a tiresome creature. Curling her tongue, Cerelle forced herself to look at the other through the ornate red mask on her face. “So, you take your pleasure from wine... what do you prefer? Wine or sex?”
