A little too late for that, Ren. Well, at least she's just giving him a very judgemental stare while he gulps down those shakes--

its ok. while you were studying the judgemental stare, he was busy ascending to the seventh gate.

while i was a way i started taking piano lessons so now not only do I down 3 energy drinks a day like ren, soon, I will learn piano like I headcanon ren to and then i can really self insert into this mc.

instead of coffee, he's downing grimace shakes now. no one tell Sam or Mako.

"Ah, perhaps so. Yes, it may be worth a try, in that case."

and that's all he needs to be convinced. he's turning on his heel and pulling out his phone to search up the nearest grimace shake location ---------- ah yes of course there'd be a place by the train station!

Akira grimaced. The other hand a point, depressingly. The students at Shujin didn't ask many questions, or at least they didn't ask any questions about who he was or where he came from, just trying to dig up the dirt about his criminal record. If the Shujin here was anything like the one where he came from, then Akira didn't have much to worry about.

But the smile returned to his face at the decision. He'll almost certainly need to get more of the story about what happened to Ren, although if he had a hunch, it probably wasn't too dissimilar to what happened to him. "Maybe our families don't stay in touch as much," he added in way of explanation with a small shrug. Although, if Ren's parents were anything like Akira's parents, they were probably too ashamed or neglectful or just didn't care about what happened to Ren. Any of the options weren't great, and he would have to ask Ren about that later too.

Ah, finding a place to stay would be tricky and he hadn't brought along any of his money unfortunately. "Do you think Boss would let me stay? He wasn't exactly thrilled about taking me in the first time around. Wait, does he still go by Boss?" Akira asked, he could already feel his mind spinning. This was going to get confusing fast. Or rather faster.

there were a lot of questions, and details to be ironed out. but, Ren had a hunch it would all work out in the end. Morgana would know what to do and he could be trusted. Boss was a little rough around the edges, but he'd come around. he could already see Futaba enjoying the situation and just being a menace in general. ( in a loving way ). all in all, he didn't think Akira had much to worry about, but he understood where and why that worry was there all too well. it was all too easy to sweep his troubled past under the rug for a while now that he'd found a place to belong. but Akira was here to remind him ------- his past was there and he couldn't ignore the bad things that happened.

he decides to tackle these worries one at a time head on.

❝ Boss wasn't thrilled, but he had his reasons ------ I'm sure we can convince him. he knows that we wouldn't ask him without offering something in return. which means you're likely going to end up working behind the counter here too. ❞

or he'll make Ren do it. one of the two will happen and Ren's fine with that since he did suggest staying at the cafe just as Yusuke had done for a brief moment. maybe he can work up enough yen in mementos in order to just get Akira a place?

❝ but we'll focus on one thing at a time and that's convincing Boss to let you stay -------- even if temporarily and then we'll talk to anyone else we need to to figure out what to do. I'm sure Morgana can help. ❞
