Mini Haul for the Tropics - Part 1

Don't worry guys, I'm not dead! :P Hello, I've decided just to show you a simple beginning of a haul for stuff I need for the tropics! So I went to Shoppers today and was looking through small travel-sized things and such, and so far so good! I got the idea of getting Dry Shampoo when I noticed a travel-sized Batiste "Clean & Classic" scent bottle! I've NEVER seen Batiste in Canada, I've always known it as a UK thing. It's finally in Canada, and buying it in travel-size makes it great for packing in my small bags and if I end up not liking it (which I know I will like it), it was cheaper than the full size bottle. Can't wait to try it! Next is a duo of Essence products. I was looking for an acceptable waterproof mascara since my FAVOURITE Maybelline Full 'n Soft waterproof mascara dried out and it's discontinued sadly. I noticed a fantastic L'Oreal mascara that my friend uses in a waterproof version, and it was 10 dollars. So then I decided to look at the Essence rack and looked through their selection. I only noticed one waterproof mascara, but it was a nice and large tube (indicating a nice thick brush for feathery volume) and 3 DOLLARS. I right away put the 10 dollar mascara down and grabbed this. What a steal! Along with this mascara I bought something called Volumizing Lash Powder from Essence. It looks like a cottonly fiber bits and it comes with a mascara wand to dip in the powder. You are supposed to put on some mascara, brush on some of the powder and seal with more. It says "the artificial mini fibers for fake lash effect." Sounds very interesting, I can't wait to try it! That I believe was 3 dollars as well. So that's it for the beginning! I'm planning on getting a new bikini and other little things. Thanks for reading!

REVIEW: 4 Items From The Body Shop Tea Tree Line!!!

I just have to start out this review with a WOW.

I've seen it in The Body Shop stores before, I thought it was nice but never really had the interest to actually buy it. Now that I got it as a thoughtful gift for Christmas from my Mom & Dad because I asked, and now that I had the chance to try the toner, the scrub and the night lotion (not yet the facial wash that I got too but it'll be awesome), I'm IN LOVE. I have occasional break outs. Mostly on the forehead and chin. I've tried EVERYTHING. Scrubs, astringents, drying pastes. The only thing that sort of worked was the drying paste, but even that didn't do much. I'm so happy my parents got me most of the line. I like the fact that I can use each product throughout the day in now what will be my new daily routine. I just started using the products today, and my acne is already starting to clear up! I can now start to see the days of flawless skin! These products also got great reviews from others, like the helpful employee my mom talked to so she could get an opinion about each Tea Tree product from a different person and to get some tips on how to use the products to really get rid of those pesky pimples. The Tea Tree products really do work! I love the really fresh scent of the Tea Tree stuff, I'd sort of describe it as a fresh, strong scent with a hint of lime or a citrusy smell, if that makes sense. I really enjoy these products! If I had to choose the product that I liked the most out of the ones I received today, it would probably be the toner. It gets out dirt from the face, the scent and tingle really freshens you up and the wonderfulness of Tea Tree works SO WELL to get rid of your acne and blemishes. If I ever ran out, I'm totally going back for more! This Tea Tree line is a god send! I might even go and try the rest of the line :) -Lily x

Christmas Nails!!!

Hey, I'm not dead! Every holiday I enjoy doing nails that match them. Last year for Christmas I did a stripey french of white, red and silver. It was beautiful. I'm not so sure what I want to do this year, but I'm here to give you some fantastic ideas! Piercing Update: My Unruly Helix Piercing

Personally, I prefer piercings more than tattoos. I don't have any tattoos, but I really enjoy wearing jewelry and this is why I like piercings. Now, I have a long story short to share with you. I got my cartilage pierced on October 1st of last year, it was going great, it seemed to be fully healed at 3 months so I went into the highly recommended, sterile and professional piercing parlour to get it changed to a hoop. It got red but then faded and it was totally fine afterwards. Then I changed it myself to a different hoop and that's when everything went wrong. To this very day (and it's been a year since I had it pierced) it gets red when my hair is on it. I don't know why, and even when I changed it to a hoop to see if it would do better with it, and it didn't get red when I changed it! Makes no sense! I really don't want to get rid of it because I simply love the look of  it and if I had it this long I might as well keep on trying. It's not infected, just sensitive. I really want to try H2Ocean Spray, everyone said that their piercings healed wonderfully after using this product. Even a girl with the same problem as me, said after having her cartilage piercing for 2 years, and it was red and not healed, so she tried this and she said it was a miracle. What do you think? I just wanted to share that with you, felt like it :) -Lily x

Lip Balm Count

I have like an addiction for lip balms and lip treatments, so I just wanted to do a quick post on HOW many I have. Just be aware that I've lost many over the years but I still have a HUGE collection.  Here it goes... *counts* I think I miscounted a million times but I have around 33 lip balms. Insane eh? I love them all! Plan on seeing a post about ALL of my lip balms! I recently got a Burt's Bees Grapefruit lip balm and a Nivea Mint and Minerals lip balm that I've wanted for ages. DIY Lip Scrub In A Candy/Mint Tin

You may have seen many other DIY lip scrubs out there but this is mine! Just a simple conditioning lip scrub. What You'll Need  (No specific measurements needed, it's all in the "eyeballing") -A small microwavable bowl -Toothpicks -2 spoons (preferably disposable plastic because these ingredients are hard to wash off utensils) - Washed old candy/mint tin (or if you really want to, buy lip tubes and containers at your local craft store) -petroleum jelly -olive oil -sugar (the rougher the better, but any sugar works) FIRST: Take the small microwavable bowl. Pick up the spoon and take a scoop full of petroleum jelly. Plop it in in the bowl. Use a toothpick to scrape off excess petroleum jelly into the bowl, then flatten it a little.  SECOND: Place the bowl in the microwave for 15 seconds, then stir, 15 seconds, then stir... Repeat until it melts. If you find that 15 seconds each time isn't melting it fast enough, raise the number to 25 seconds, then stir, 25 seconds, then stir... repeat until it melts. THIRD: Take the candy/mint tin and open it. Act fast with the petroleum jelly, for it dries back to normal very quickly like candle wax. Pour it in the candy/mint tin, drizzle in some olive oil and whip it up with the spoon. Whipping it up with the spoon very quickly I think makes it a little lighter and fluffier like whipped cream sort of, but it doesn't matter. Put in a little olive oil at a time so it doesn't become too greasy, but that there still is an even amount of it throughout the petroleum jelly.  FOURTH: Put in as much sugar as you want, it is a sugar scrub though, you want it to be grainy and exfoliating! Whip it up again with the spoon to evenly distribute the sugar crystals throughout the petroleum and olive oil mixture.  FIFTH: If you want some colour in your lip scrub, shave off some eye shadow or get a powder pigment, and stir it in. Add a little at a time so you can get the preferred shade of colour.  *The sugar will melt eventually on your lips or melt on your tongue, but if you don't want any excess product on your lips, wipe off a tissue. And there you have it! You're very own simple Lip Scrub using things from around the house!  (It's purpley in real life) *Please note that olive oil can go bad, so if you want to keep your lip scrub around for a little longer place it in the fridge. Also this mixture can melt when warmed (in your pocket, on hot days...) Enjoy! -Lily x

REVIEW: Fresh. Sugar Lip Balm

Since I haven't posted in a while, I'll start off with a simple product review on the Fresh. Sugar Lip Balm! I have 2 of the mini rosé fresh, sugar lip balms, and one mini original. I prefer the original but I love the red tint the rosé gives to the lips.  When you put the full size and the mini side my size, the mini is of course shorter and a thinner tube, but when you screw up the lip balms all the way, they are the same height in product but the mini is thinner. I'd love to get a full-size of this lip balm sometime, but they're pretty pricey. The minis are actually a great size! The packaging/tube is very interesting to me, it's sort of like a very smooth metal. It's not that special but I think it's pretty sleek, and the quality is great! Now, the actual lip balm! It's amazing for everyday wear, keep it in your bag or your pocket for supple lips any time of the day. The lip balm formula is very smooth in all of the fresh. sugar lip balms. For christmas I'd love to try the fresh. sugar lip balm sampler set from Sephora, which has all of the fresh. sugar lip balms in mini form!  Thanks for reading, and I definitely recommend these lip balms to you! -Lily x

Christmas in the Mall has Begun!

Sparkling trees are going up in malls everywhere, THANK GOD Bath and Body Works and Yankee candle are getting their christmas scents in... makes me super excited for the cold months.  So yes, I'm a month early, and Halloween hasn't even happened yet (even though it's this Wednesday), but let's just take a moment to discuss what's to come! I'm extremely excited for the christmas scents and the cozy sweaters. Not just the presents, that's something to look forward to, but the mall lights are dimmed, making the atmosphere cozy and warm. Sparkling lights and ornaments are hung everywhere, along with the colours silver, gold, red and green. Peppermint, pine, sweet scents, everyone drinking hot chocolate and hot drinks in the mall. People taking their sweet time buying gifts for the ones they love. It's makes me so happy! What are you excited about the most? Burning nice candles? Having a cozy fire? Home Lip Service!

Want some quick ways to make your lips soft and exfoliated? 1. Toothbrush Take a simple soap and warm water, apply on tightly sealed lips. Scrub with the toothbrush side to side on the top and the bottom lip to get rid of dead skin. Wash off, pat dry and right after apply our best lip balm or lip treatment. 2. Mascara wands Buy a pack of disposable mascara wands and take your best moisturizing lip balm, spin and pick up a reasonable amount on the mascara wand. Scrub on the lip, just like the toothbrush. Pat dry with a kleenex. You can add more lip balm if needed in the end. 3. Sugar scrub Sugar is the sweet way to take care of your lips. It scrubs, AND tastes great! Add some rough sugar into a bowl with a tiny bit of vaseline in it, and simply scrub with your finger. Get off excess sugar crystals and vaseline with a kleenex, then add on more lip balm if needed in the end. There are many other ways to do your lips some good right at home, but these are just some 3 great tips!
