Hello everyone! Recently it has been brought to light that The East Light has been suffering abuse by the hands of both their CEO and a former producer. I won’t go into detail about the thing they endured due to the triggering nature of it but if it is something that isn’t triggering to you, here is a thread that goes into detail of what exactly they faced but to give you an idea of what the extent was, they were often left bleeding.
Their leader, Seukcheol also stated in a press conference that they hesitated to inform their parents about the situation due to the fact that they were given death threats by their abusers so they endured it from since they were trainees. All the members of The East Light are currently minors, meaning that this was done to them even while their youngest member was 13 or younger.
Seukcheol and his brother Seunghyun have left the group with the former currently receiving psychiatric treatment because of what they were put through.
I am making this post to raise awareness for what has happened and to ask you to please support the members during this time. Seukcheol said that another reason they didn’t speak out on this sooner was because they were scared of no longer being able to pursue music and that they would’ve been kicked out of the company. On top of this being something that needs to get attention in order for justice to be served, I want to ask you all to please do support them so that their dreams aren’t washed away. What happened to them is so incredible heartbreaking and is not something that should happen to anyone, far less defenseless children who simply wanted to achieve their dreams. Please give this situation as much attention as it can so that these kids and their family won’t have to see their abusers walk free and so that in the future they won’t have to live their lives in fear of what these monsters can possibly do to them again.
