Joseph and Emma Davies - Ashfield House 18.7.2014 This blissfully warm summers day to the delight of all who attended was held at Ashfield house in Standish near Wigan. Guests were especially delighted as they we greeted with an ice cream on arrival, such a magical touch! Speeches were emotional from Father of the Bride ending with a very humble bride shedding an unexpected few tears. Humorous speeches from the Best Men consisted of many tales of Joe being the troublesome brother, and one point breaking out a 'kiddie diary' to recite many hilarious high jinx by the three brothers and bridesmaid sister Candace. All in all it was one of those weddings when you could see the two families really joining into one unit after many years of knowing each other. Fantastic to see and fantastic to shoot. Congratulations Emma and Joe!

Helen and Nick Curry - Totworth Court May 2014 This fantastic day was hosted at a gem of a stately home in North Bristol. The couple wedded in the spectacular orangery and danced the night away under the stars in a marquee within the grounds. My favourite shots are the ones that feature the dreamy wisteria tunnel, such a fantastic feature if the grounds at this venue. May being just the perfect time for it to be in bloom!

Dunham Massey Family Photoshoot

Here are a few photos from a photo shoot in Dunham Massey, Cheshire (down the road from where I am based) with Actor mum Shardene Blake and her scrumptious son. Such a fantastic location to capture special spring time moments among nature and the free running deer, the sun shined and we had a very easy going afternoon. We nipped over the road to Lavender Barn Tea Rooms where the children ran riot in the child friendly open space and had fun among the dandelions. Thanks so much for inviting me along, what a special afternoon it was!

Fabulous photo shoot with a wee man today, whose little personality shined through the many expressions I captured in this session. Some soft, some contemplative, some comical! Baby Miro's Mum and Dad are both have artistic backgrounds and wanted candid portrait shots of their son but I couldn't resist capturing glimpses of mum in special bonding moments.

Recently I went to stay in Blackpool to attend an event

In my previous post I talked about how I am very motivated by nostalgia, after walking around the centre for a matter of minutes it became very apparent that Blackpool was once a place of decadence. Stripping back the commerce of an inner city shopping area it has now become , I could see it was dripping in period details.

The architecture I could spend all day photographing, but it dismayed me to see its decay and the lack of preservation. The pride it should uphold was not evident enough. I couldn’t help but feel like I wanted a Midnight In Paris moment - where everything would come alive at the stroke at midnight and resume it’s heyday of decadence, I would have loved to experienced that in a similar way to Owen Wilson’s character in the film.

It was my birthday day out so not many quality photos were taken but I managed to capture Blackpool in a positive modern day life with glimpses of a bygone era.

I have always loved texture, it's my first love photography wise. I discovered a burned out, abandoned house on a country road near to where my brother and his family lives in Glazebury. Warrington. I find decaying textures beautiful, this theme of accidental compositions has inspired me through both my A-levels and art degree, it's fair to say I have always had this interest since I was a little girl.... It goes back to being fascinated with my grandmas house, her decaying 60's decor particularly in her kitchen. Layers of textured floral wallpaper just painted many, many times over, only to peel through the weight of time as it goes by. Cracked and warped painted window sills and furniture. Nothing was ever fixed just covered up. But always with the inevitability that that part of the past would once again resurface. Hidden yet waiting to be unearthed one day like disposed of former treasure. I loved my grandmas house, it was like a time capsule. I often dream about it, even now, though I've not stepped a foot in it for over a decade. My grandmas house, like her mind is now lost and now remains only in my memories. So the love of capturing stories from objects or seemingly inanimate textures, thoroughly inspires me as it somehow connects me to my past and satisfies my ever curious nature.

My Sister in Laws Wedding, Scarborough. Always been one to take photos whenever I feel inspired, I particularly find weddings such a magical day and a great chance to capture significant or ironically benign moments. I love how even the smallest moments can become a beautiful visual momento. I love candid - documentary style photos, I feel this is truly my signature style, but as I say, I always have an eye for the aesthetic details. Of course, I was only a guest and not the official wedding Photographer but I just couldn't help snapping away all day!
