I believe that if you ask the universe out loud for something it may just give it to you. One of my childhood dreams was to become a fashion designer or to make wearable art. The collaboration with TOMS shoes gave me a taste of what it is like to share one’s creativity with others through fashion.  If there is something you have been wanting to explore, something you need to feel a little more fulfilled… say it out loud, write it down, make a vision board… and just get that energy out there. My partnership with @TOMS has officially launched! I partnered with them for their Artist Series which celebrates LA-based artists who illustrate the role that self-expression plays in supporting mental health. One of my original pieces is featured on a pair of TOMS and it brings to life my hand-printed, hand-incised, relief print collage by merging aspects of my Mexican culture, folklore, and passion for nature. TOMS recently shifted its impact to focus on providing mental health resources which is one of the reasons I’m proud to partner with them. For me, achieving mental health is having the presence of mind to realize when something is wrong and to have the tools to adapt, overcome, and resolve an issue to ensure one’s safety. Remembering the Black American Portraits exhibition @lacma in honor of Black History month. It was an inspiring show with uplifting and compelling depictions of black culture. Did you see the show?
