“Or I could just give you a ride,” Malachai offered, charitable as he was, sweetness practically oozing from his words. His signature smile was a nice cherry on top, only that this time it wasn’t as much faked niceties, but general amusement over the predicament the poor guy was in. “Everyone deserves a chance to sit in a proper car at least once.”
Sure, he hadn’t exactly planned to share his baby on the first night they’d be reunited, but if that meant giving him the chance to make a fellow racer, a competitor even, as uncomfortable as possible, who was he to pass up on the opportunity? “What do you say? It’s a once in a lifetime kind of offer,” he pushed further, raised brows punctuating his words.
he looked at the other man in a faux horror, the very idea of leaving his baby in the heart of the south side terrifying him. his car wasn’t the most inconspicuous, or the cheapest. the price was hardly the reason for his concern though, the real root of his concern came from the fact his heart and soul had been poured into every detail. “a proper car?” he scoffs in disbelief, slamming the hood down and hopping up onto to perch on the edge of the car. “he doesn’t mean that baby, you’re as proper as a car can get!” he patted the smooth paint work, the action almost soothing . “absolutely beautiful”
“i suppose i don’t have much choice but to accept your offer, do i? unless i want to walk all the way home.” there is reluctance evident in his voice as he agrees, for multiple reasons but the biggest seemed to be a pulling up outside his family home with someone who looked like malachai. “how ever will i repay you? because i’m sure you expect some form of repayment. no one does anything nice for free”
