    well, exactly what it says on the tin! i’m moving blogs! what with tumblr’s new update and posts getting flagged that i have no patience tracking down and me scrapping a whole bunch of muses whose tags clutter this blog here, it’s just the easiest solution for me.      now, the new blog will be… a little more private. it’s got a lot to do with anxiety and this fast dash and “big” number of followers messing with it pretty badly. nothing personal, really. i just need room to breathe? yeah. chances are big that if we were mutuals on here and we were writing or have written before, i’ll follow on the new blog, too. so. yay?     anyway, the new blog is here. see you guys on there!

He heaves a soft sigh while looking back and forth between Qiaomeng and Jiseok. Somehow, he really feels like a parent scolding their child, even though he’s fully aware, too, that neither of them is actually doing anything wrong - which is also the reason why it’s so difficult to actually stay mad at them. “… at least try then, please?” Kiryu finally relents, though it’s obvious how much he hopes that things won’t escalate when they meet Xander for the first time. It might be today, or not until next year. 

Either way, Kiryu’s glad that he’s had a chance to talk to the other two in advance about it. “I agree with Meng that he has some issues, but that’s something the two of them have to figure out together - and probably with professional help too. As of a current, the rest of us doesn’t even know Xander, so our hands are pretty much tied.” His gaze finally settles on Jiseok again, who still looks anything but happy at the mere possibility of Yojae bringing Xander along. “… c’mon, G-chan. You’ll scare Kieran away if you look like that the whole day - and that would be a shame, wouldn’t it?”

    “Shouldn’t you be worried about that guy scaring him away?” Jiseok retorts against better judgment. Qiaomeng and Kiryu have both made their opinions clear and seem unwilling to let go. And it makes sense, too, seeing as how Yojae is the one who’d probably take it all to heart if any of them acted overly skeptical. He simply can’t help it. Even if it makes him look like a petulant child.     Qiaomeng reaches over to ruffle his hair with a hum in his throat. “Stubborn brat. Y’mean well, but it’s not gonna look good. Do it fer Yojae.”     A few beats of silence pass before Jiseok throws his hands in the air. Through a defeated groan, he says, “Okay! All right! Fine. But the second he says or does something shitty, I’m socking him in the face.”     As expected, Qiaomeng flashes him an approving grin.

Kiryu huffs at both of them, visibly exasperated with their behaviour (not that it makes him love them less, of course). “Depends on the circumstances. If he’s only been an ass to you with no improvement at all, then yes, I’d glare at him at any given chance - not to mention that I wouldn’t even give you the privilege to bring him.” He can be fiercely protective of his friends if he wants to be, and even the almost-being-kidnapped-experience doesn’t change that. 

He reaches out to flick Jiseok’s nose lightly. “But Yojae told us that things are getting better, so at least try to stay neutral about this - if not for me, then at least for Yojae. He said that things were improving, and knowing him, he wouldn’t have asked to bring him to introduce him to us if that wasn’t the case. You’re his best friend, too, so he’d definitely want to introduce you two to each other. If you give Xander that glare, it’s Yojae who will feel bad. He already did when he asked Meng if it’s okay to bring him.”

    “People don’t just change from one day to the other,” Jiseok responds, voice a little rough around the edges. It’s not that he thinks Yojae’s lying to them. He’s many things, but not a liar. Considering what he knows about Xander, however, being skeptical is the only logical response. How Kiryu manages to have this positive an outlook despite everything is beyond him. He heaves a sigh, eyes wandering towards Qiaomeng -- uncharacteristically silent. “Aren’t you gonna say something?”     Qiaomeng runs a hand a through his hair. Looks back and forth between Jiseok and Kiryu, and slowly says, “I really don’t wanna pick sides, but... “ He shrugs. “Jiseok’s got a point. Th’guy’s got some issues, ‘nd even though I don’t doubt he’s tryin’ his best, I’m not sure I’m cool havin’ him around t’day. It’s... difficult, babe.”

    It’s not the response he’d wanted, nor the one he’d expected, but it’s something. “See? I’m not alone with my thoughts.”     “But,” Qiaomeng interrupts before Jiseok has a chance to continue, “I do wanna give him a chance. Yojae’s head over heels... fer some reason. It’s only fair if we try ‘nd get t’know him, at least. Nobody’s expectin’ us t’become best buds right away. Just... “ He gestures vaguely. “Make yer judgment after y’met him. I know I’ll try.”

“Now, remember what I said. Everyone behave - especially you two.” He offers his eomma glare at both his fiance and Jiseok, knowing fully aware that those two are the unhappiest about Yojae bringing Xander to their little Christmas party. “I’m serious here. I know that he’s been an ass to Yojae, but if he says that things have been improving, then the least we can do is not throwing death glares his direction, okay?” And, after a pause, he adds, “if he’s bringing him today. I told Yojae that it’s okay to bring him if he wants to.”

    Jiseok and Qiaomeng share a look. While Yojae has all right to bring Xander along, neither of them are especially thrilled about the prospect. It’s more on principle now than anything else. Their Christmas get-together has been months in the planning and Xander’s presence might just throw everything off-kilter. If only for the fact that Jiseok, at least, has no intention on treating him with kiddy gloves. He huffs.

    “Someone’s gotta let him know he’s a piece of shit, right? Yojae won’t.” Crossing his arms before his chest, Jiseok arches a brow. “Would you play nice if I brought a guy like that? Be honest.”

Yojae hums softly in confirmation. "I love it. Especially the fact that you remember what I said," he replies as he melts in Xander's hold. He tilts his head slightly to press another kiss to his beloved's cheek, lips lingering there for a moment. "But I love you more, so no worries about that."

    “Why would I be worried about that?” I was more worried about you not liking it, he almost adds, and only the thought confuses him. Until now, he’d been more than sure his little gift was perfect, not a sliver of doubt that Yojae would love it to bits. But then he’d started tearing up, and for whatever strange reason, Xander couldn’t help but wonder. Wonder if his plan was a bad one, after all. Wonder if this was a mistake.     Mind-boggling in all ways.    Brows furrowed, he burrows his face in the crook of Yojae’s neck. “It was kind of hard not to remember. You should’ve seen your face when you talked about it.”

"I'm crying because you made me happy," he says, a few more tears still threatening to fall, but it doesn't dull the smile on his lips at all. "It's just.. you giving me that necklace... it touches me. I didn't think you'd remember what I said because, you know. I've been talking a lot that day when you visited me at the planetarium." He leans in to steal a few more kisses before tugging Xander into a hug. "I'm really happy, that's all there is to my tears."

    “Ah.” The tension in Xander’s shoulders seeps out of him in cadence to him breathing out. He hadn’t considered this, used to tears meaning anything but happiness. Especially Yojae’s. He drapes his arms around him and rests his chin in the crook of Yojae’s neck, heart still beating like a drum. “Happy tears. Right. That’s... sure.” Bringing one hand up, he runs it through Yojae’s hair. “So... you like it?”

Stunned. That’s the best word to describe what Yojae is feeling as he stares down at the necklace Xander’s gifted to him. He remembers that day Xander has unexpectedly shown up at the planetarium, where he gave the other a one-man-show for his favourite program because Xander requested it. And, yes, he remembers mentioning Lupus as his favourite constellation - but to think Xander remembers…

It’s probably stupid to tear up over a small gesture like that, but it’s a really thoughtful one, and Yojae simply can’t help it as he lets his fingers trace over the delicate pendant in the box. He sets it carefully down on his lap, hands a bit shaky, to then gently cup his beloved’s cheeks and pull him in for a tender kiss. “… thank you,” he murmurs out, almost choking on his tears as he peppers more kisses all over Xander’s face while softly chanting “thank you, thank you, thank you”. Finally, he pulls back just enough to offer the other a teary, but happy smile. He holds the box up for Xander. “… put it on for me, please?”

    Tears? Face awash with a million questions, Xander lets Yojae do as he pleases, though his gaze is pinned on the teardrops running down his cheeks. It’s not what he wanted. It’s not how he thought this was going to go. A little frantic, he leans in to wipe the tears away, heart beating a mile a minute. “No, why are you crying? I just wanted to –”  

    But Yojae’s smiling, still, which – doesn’t make sense. Xander stares down at the open box, gears turning in his head. His plan wasn’t that bad. He’d held onto that picture of how much Yojae glowed when he talked about his stars, this constellation in particular, and it had seemed perfect when he’d come across that necklace. Where did he go wrong? Nevertheless, he picks it up and unclasps it, leans forward to secure it carefully around Yojae’s neck. “… I don’t understand.”

Oh. Yojae blinks at the box and then back up at Xander, for a moment actually at a loss of words and the last pieces of sleepiness out of the system. He sits up slowly, gaze directed towards the box again while patting onto the free spot next to him for Xander to sit down. "You... got something for me?" His voice is soft, a bit rough from disuse still, but filled with emotion as he looks up at the other again. "... can I open it?"

    Xander does as he’s told. “Don’t make a big deal out of this, okay?” It’s a ridiculous thing to say. Of course Yojae will make a big deal out of it. Xander can’t blame him, either. After everything, a gift is probably not anywhere near what he expected from him. Xander bites his bottom lip and reaches for the box, torn between letting Yojae open it like he obviously wants and doing it himself. He picks the latter.

    “It’s nothing big,” he explains, carefully untying the ribbon to remove the lid. “And not a Christmas present, either, in case you get that idea.” He sets the box down in his lap. “... it wasn’t supposed to be, anyway. The timing’s just... you know.”     Reaching into the box with two fingers, he pries the delicate paper inside aside, revealing a small, silver pendant in the shape of a wolf. Its outlines are traced in a soft, shimmery blue, connected with tiny stars that form the constellation of lupus. The pendant is attached to a thin, black strip of leather, held together by a silver clasp. Xander offers the opened box to Yojae. “That’s... the one you said you like so much. When I was at your planetarium.”
