[sitting in the salon tugging at her hair, frowning] I need a change.
Avery turned to the girl, and the foils in her hair rustled. âIâm going red, maybe we could switch and you can take my black hair,â she joked with a smile.

[sitting in the salon tugging at her hair, frowning] I need a change.
Avery turned to the girl, and the foils in her hair rustled. âIâm going red, maybe we could switch and you can take my black hair,â she joked with a smile.
[in a bar, swearing angrily at somebody in Spanish, when the person raises his hand to slap her causing her to freeze]
âHey, chill!â Avery shouted as she grabbed the strangerâs shirt and tried to pull them away from the girl. She had been watching the exchange for a bit - just in that way that she got used to as a girl who worked in the scene. She was happy to let anyone diffuse their own situation, but sometimes she was also happy to step in. When anyone raised a hand, Avery took that as a step too far. âYou know that security is happy to throw your ass on the street if you start this shit.â She was shouting into the ear of the stranger, hoping to be heard over the music and adrenaline.Â

molly-conroyâ:
Molly grinned, she thought it was cute. âI like it, what if you turned the costume around, then you could be a reverse cowgirl.â She joked.
âI didnât even think about that, but then again, I was trick or treating with a nine-year-old until an hour ago or so. So it wouldnât have really been appropriate while that was happening. I mean, he wouldnât get it, but I would still feel weird. You know?â
The Witching Hour || 10/31/18
[standing there sipping her drink in her Ruth Bader Ginsburg costume]Â What am I you asked? Only one of the most badass women ever.
âOh. Wow. Big fan. An honor, truly.â Avery laughed softly. âI wish I had good ideas, but cowgirl was the choice of my nephew whoâs visiting, so here we are.â

[is standing on her porch handing out candy to kids in her Dorothy costume when she sees your character and shakes her head] Arenât you a little old to be trick-or-treating?
âYouâre definitely right in thinking that.â Avery laughed, looking down at her poorly put together cowgirl costume. âMy nephew is just down the road.â She lifted an arm to point down the sidewalk where her brother and his little family were taking their time. âSometimes you just gotta jump ahead to check out the decorations, ya know? And you look so cute by the way!â
missmelodykentâ:
Melody was working on a college assignment when the unfamiliar face approached her. Offering the girl a welcoming smile, she stacked some of her books to make more room. âNo, no, pleaseâŠsitâŠI donât quite get the whole pumpkin spice latte.I mean, itâs nice, but I much prefer the gingerbread lattes that come out closer to Christmas!â
âThanks,â Avery said with a smile. She quirked a brow at the gingerbread latte comment. âIâve never had a gingerbread latte. I think the one thing Iâm not adventurous with his my coffee order.â Avery took a sip of her Americano and nodded curiously at he books. âSchool?â she asked.Â
notyoureverydayfordâ:
âNo problem,â he mused some as he settled back in to his seat with a small grin. âGood to know Iâm not the only one,â he smirked some as he nodded. âMy family has a place in Chicago and we have a place in Maine that we go during this time of year, weâre a bit of a outdoors family so we take in sites like fall leaves constantly, nothing really as beautiful as that,â he smirked. âOh I agree sweater weather is the best, I love a good sweater and a book.â
âYou sound like a well traveled guy,â she said before taking a sip of her coffee. âI Think I was in Maine once, but New England in general is a really great place o be for fall. I would argue the best place, but I guess youâd agree.â She smiled warmly and thought of the oranges and yellows she had seen on the road during fall tours. âDid your family move here from Chicago?â
stefanielovettâ:
Her expression lighting up and a smile appearing, she appears to try and stay nonchalant about her talent âI tattoo at Medusa.â she admitted âBut really, these are just doodles.â she knew she had not been focusing at all while drawing, her mind on other things.
âDang Iâm just meeting all the tattoo artists there this month,â Avery noted, remembering the guy she had met not long ago. âI got my very first tattoo there when I was 18, but I havenât been back there for work in years, but seeing the talent in there now... I dunno. You guys have me thinking I should get something else done.â
justsamandersonâ:
âSounds like a great way of bonding of you ask me.â He laughed, unable to keep a straight face after that. He gave her a nod and a mumbled âthank youâ as he walked through the door. Everything smelled fantastic, but he didnât want to have this stranger spend too much money on him. âWell hey, no oneâs stopping you.â
âOh yeah, I guess youâre right.â Avery stepped up to order her everything bagel and got a few cookies as well, because she might as well satisfy her sweet-tooth while she was here. âAnd Sam is having...â She trailed off, motioning for him to step up. âMy treat. Tryna put those good vibes out into the world today,â she said to the girl at the counter. A little extra information than was necessary, but Avery often found it hard to stop.

Ford looked up from his books as he heard the otherâs voice, just now noticing the cup where the empty seat was. He chuckled a bit as he nodded. âNah, go for it,â he mused, sitting back some with a small grin. âItâs funny when the Pumpkin Spice crowd comes out of the woodwork,â he joked taking a sip of his coffee. âI never understood itâ but I guess Iâm more of a traditional fall person more about the leaves changing then the foods.âÂ
âThanks,â Avery said with a soft smile of her own. She never really had an issue inserting herself into places, but she was still grateful when others didnât seem to mind. âOh, Iâm with you on that one, buddy. Gimme a chilly breeze and crunchy leaves any day. My parents live in Jersey and I love going to theirs for Thanksgiving. Even just a few more states north feels like another world even in the fall. Also sweater weather. I mean whatâs better than getting to dress all cozy every day?â
stefanielovettâ:
âPu-come on. Youâre kidding me right? What kind of person names their child Pushy?â she gave Avery a look of amused disbelief, before shuddering at the mere thought of any big brother doing that. She knew it was an immature feeling but the idea of Cam doing anything made her skin crawl âtrust me, I know. My brotherâs love life is the last thing I want think about.â still grossed out by the idea, she shook her head with a surprised âoh!â âNo, no! Honestly, I donât mind. Iâm just sitting here, drinking my coffee and doodling.â she nodded to her sketchbook, filled with ornate tattoos.
Avery was just as cringey when thinking about her brother doing anything other kiss his wife on the cheek. She felt a bit better about it knowing she wasnât the only grown woman who was still so grossed out by something like that. Averyâs eyes dropped to the paper on the table when Stefanie motioned to it. âWow, those look sick,â she as she admired them. Avery was always amazed by people who had the talent for art. She had music and definitely dexterity, but she couldnât draw a stick figure well if you asked her too. âYou âdoodleâ professionally?â
justsamandersonâ:
âOh fun.â He shrugged the comment off, chuckling lightly. He didnât take her claim seriously at all. He wasnât the sharpest tool in the shed, but had enough common sense to understand a joking tone, and that no murderer would announce their plan publicly.Â
âI think it will be. A great way to get to know each other.â Avery jogged up to the door of the bakery and opened it for her new acquaintance. The smell of baking bread filled her nose and made her tummy go all warm. âOh mannnnnn,â she said. âThatâs the stuff. Now Iâm really hungry. This was probably a dangerous idea for my appetite. I might need to get something else besides my everything bagel.â
stefanielovettâ:
âIâve met a few too, but Iâve only ever met one who has it spelt the same was as me: with an âfâ instead of a âphâ. I know that might not seem very interesting, but itâs about as quirky as my name is.â she relaxed, leaning back in her seat and drawing her hands around her mug âNot feeling it, huh?â
âWell I can say with confidence that my sister-in-law has us beat in the quirky name department. Her name is Pushy. Terribly ironic cause sheâs like with sweetest ever. But, yeah, they arenât really going for the whole naming their kid after me. If they even have another kid. I donât know if theyâre gonna. I donât really like thinking about my big brother making babies, ya know? I just like when the baby actually arrives. Iâm rambling. You donât care this much about my family stuff.â Avery laughed softly and reeled herself back in. âAnyway. What are you up to on this fine pumpkin spice season day?â
justsamandersonâ:
He looked in the direction the girl was pointing to, then back at her. âOh, well, never mind then. Itâd be a little dumb to get in the car just to go one block. I just wasnât sure where you were taking me.â
âWell after the bagels I was planning on taking you another block so that I could murder you in the alley.â Avery laughed softly and put her free hand in her pocket.Â
margoharperâ:
âThis will sound very strange⊠But I kind of threw a dart at the map of the US and found out what I had to about the area before moving here.â She thought for a moment if she should tell Avery everything, but she held back, deciding to tell a white lie instead. âI guess I really just couldnât decide where I should go to college.â Margo shrugs. âI didnât really care where I ended up.âÂ
âOooo. Love it. Very Mary-Kate and Ashley.â Avery smiled. She didât find the decision making process strange at all. Sometimes you just needed to be anywhere but where you were. She could understand that much.  âSo youâre going to school? Where at? Rosewood? What for?â
