Stick and Poke was a Canadian folk punk duo formed in Toronto, ON by Al Soldink and Lauren Boyko. Both musicians were songwriters and multi-instrumentalists. Active from 2011 to 2017, Stick and Poke is known for their melodic harmonies and musical storytelling. Hey there! Sorry this response is so, so late, hopefully you’ve figured it out by now but if not it’s just a simple down, down, up, up, down, up - But you can really use whichever strumming pattern you’d like! Thanks for the question!

A week ago was our last show of our US tour with Stufy and The I in Irony! We're super grateful to have had Stufy Summers and Daniel Johnston with us, this past month wouldn't have been such a fantastically rewarding adventure without them both. So many thanks go to Daniel of The I In Irony for driving us across America & being an excellent tour mate, we're super excited to cross paths again! Unfortunately Al had to leave half way through the tour, but Stufy was able to quickly learn our songs to help Lauren & play almost all of the remaining shows with them. THANK YOU STUFY, you're a lifesaver & a literal ANGEL❤️ & of course thank you to all the amazing promoters who helped us set up our shows, all our friends who gave us a place to sleep, anyone who donated or bought merch(thank you SO much) and anyone who sang along to our songs! Now that Lauren is back living in Toronto we've decided to take a bit of a hiatus so that we may both work on our other musical projects. Al will be putting their time into various electric projects & Lauren has recently started a new band with (their partner) Stufy called LEAF CHEEKS(fb page soon to come)! With that being said, Stick and Poke will be playing a festival in Pennsylvania this September, we'll post more info on that a little later!
