Summer Love

We were young, craving for affection, the touch of another, the high school lust we felt like we had missed out on. We both thought we have been down this road before, little did we know this time would be different. It was early June, and the hot Midwestern sun was mixing with the dense humidity that comes with summertime. We had been talking for only about a week, but we were both well aware of each other’s intentions, we knew where we were headed in this summer of love. Her name was Ann, she was short petite and had the confidence that most girls do not have at the age of 18. His name was Tom, he was trying to figure out who he was now that the rigidity of high school had ended, and he wanted to find his spot in the world.
