the pokemon fandom is probably one of the most, if not the most, toxic fandoms i’ve ever had the displeasure of ever being a part of. my time here was brief, and on my break i’ve had some people tell me what’s been going on and again? it’s been more than enough to drive me away even more.

cliques, toxic people and people telling someone that their attempted suicide was problematic for people who weren’t involved? like, i’m sorry but. this entire place needs a reality check. and until it has one, i’m not going to come back.

cancel me. tell me i’m an asshole. fucking demonise me until the cows come home, i don’t care. but i can hold my head high and proudly say that when someone’s mental health hits rock bottom, my last thought would be but they should’ve tagged it.

during my time away, i did a lot of thinking. like, a lot of thinking.

i’m going to be going plot only.

this means; random starters you make me? cool, that’s fine. but the starters i post will only be pre-plotted. personally, i find the most rewarding rp to come from multi-para threads, ones that i can really dive into and explore my character’s feelings and inner thoughts. i’d like to do more with gordie, i’d like to look into his psyche and see how he ticks and i’d like to do it with people who are willing to stick it out with me for the long haul. i want threads, proper threads.

we all love it, that’s true. but something that i don’t ever feel comfortable with is someone who seems to ‘collect’ a certain muse to ship with their character. if i see that your muse is shipping with like 5 gordies, what makes my portrayal unique? do you know what i mean? – i think what i’m going to get at here is that i’m going to become hyper selective with my shipping partners. it’s not the main focus for this blog anyway. i’m here to look into gordie’s character, not his sex life. that doesn’t mean that i won’t ship with people because like i said– i like them. i would just like to feel like i’m not a pokemon card to be added to the deck, you know what i mean?

now that i’m a little more awake, i’m going to expand on this a little. i’m going to be going ship exclusive. meaning, that i’m only going to be shipping with one portrayal of a character-- but this doesn’t mean that i’m not going to interact with duplicates. y’see what i mean? just because i won’t ship with you, doesn’t mean that i don’t want to interact with you. there’s more to writing than characters smashing their ugly bits together.
