Jane was always one to use the transportalizers a lot. She had no other way of transportation, being wary of public uses. Buses were too crowded for her, and trains and subways were too… awkward, smelly for her. Putting the ear-popping and the motion sickness you had after a trip, popping out of reality and snapping back into it the next second never really hit her as strange. In the rainy town of Seattle, she entered the transportalizer station and snapped her umbrella shut.
Paying the fee and tapping the coordinates in, Jane was gone from reality for a second.
Landing roughly in Houston, quick hands darted up and down her dress to make sure she hadn’t gotten wet or dirty as she ran to the station. Adjusting the jacket that clung to her shoulders, she pushed two strands of dark locks behind her ear and walked out of the station. Cyan orbs darted back and forth to find her companion, and when they landed on the taller Strider, her feet almost immediately went into a jog.
Dirk had lit a cigarette by then, and when he recognized her making her way to him, he took his last pull from it. With an exhale, he turned to meet her. He couldn't stop his grin from forming; it'd been too long.
"Hey, Jane." he greeted. "You're looking good."
He chuckled at his own hello, shaking his head a little.
"You ever go to a hookah bar? We can catch up there, it's not far."
