MFS lost another close friend ~ Yutaka Matsubara
Sorry that I’ve gone mostly MIA the whole month of April 2019. My apologies to those who wrote to me. Some major events happened. Both my parents had eye operations and two of my friends passed away. In reflection of those, I feel it is important for me to update on the following story for my fellow MFS fans before the month officially ends.
For those who have been reading my writings here since at least 2017, you may remember that I once informed that MFS held a charity show in Kobe for their friend and longtime supporter Mr. Yutaka Matsubara.

For those who have watched MFS Documentary Zenshin, you certainly would recognize Mr. Matsubara’s face as he was prominently featured in it. He was interviewed about the early days of the band when they were still unknown rookies.
Mr. Matsubara was an important figure in Kobe’s music scene. His biggest legacy, now continued by his eldest son (born when his father was just 20), is the crowd-funded Comin’ Kobe music festival.

On 4 April 2019, Mr Yutaka Matsubara succumbed to his illness at the age of only 39. As told by his son, he took his last breath peacefully. Looking like he was sleeping.
