Hey everyone!

I finally decided to make a blog for my toy stories called storytoys. It sounded much more unique in my head. But it's catchy!

I've been using toys, specifically 6" action figures to tell stories which I call comics for about 9 months (since August 2021). Below is one of my first pics. I was just goofing around with an action figure in the back yard, seeing how well I could convey Natasha Romanoff's lethality. And boom! I came up with this amazing shot.

I'm sort-of joking. I actually came up with this shot, cropped it, and added some effects.

Nonetheless, this shot got me started on what's turned out to be an incredibly rewarding and satisfying hobby.

I shot all the rest of the pics that blisteringly hot Saturday in August 2021 and assembled them into a comic book.

I live in a place where it gets very, very cold in winter and also wanted scale backdrops so I started constructing miniature sets.

Just finished this one! Can't wait to use it!

Some people want to see how I make these so I'm starting this blog to show how I create them and also promote my storytoytelling... toy storytelling... Storytelling with toys.

Right now all my pics are shot on my phone, a Samsung S21 Ultra. I love it and am not feeling motivated to switch to a "real camera" anytime soon.

May 2022 update: I upgraded my phone for the S22 Ultra because I got double the storage capacity and a better camera for very little $.

Yelena's garage door

Finally using my 3D printer again. So I printed a garage door for Yelena's place. It's been painted since this pic. Still putting a few final touches on it. Will post those when it's finished.

Also printing spiral stairs for Kate's place and much, much more!

Natasha's conservatory ha doors and a little courtyard. It's almost finished!

Stained! (Two coats of very watered down gel stain oak color)

And varnished! (Martha Stewart spray sealer. About 4 coats)

It looks awesome!

Worked on the floor for Natasha's conservatory today. Will varnish it tomorrow!

Been working hard on Natasha's place. Used privacy film on the windows and am almost done with them! Just need to do the doors, add privacy film to to roof panels, and then make the floor!

Here's a preview. (The brown pieces are the roof panels laying on top of the privacy film.)

And here's the garage door for Yelena's place. I'm going to add more weathering and paint. It's not exactly what I had in mind but it's fine for now.

Exciting things have been happening. Natasha's conservatory is getting privacy windows. They take forever to size but look SO good!

Would love to see what happens when Shirley goes home and starts eating from dented cans and telling her family how her new friends are sexual deviants who have probably all seen her breasts, and that she kissed a very attractive queer woman on the mouth once, almost twice actually, and that she is a woman who enjoys sandwiches now, but not in that way, because it's not contagious and it doesn't work like that

And then casually flopping down in her really nice armchair with a big, genuinely relaxed and happy grin.

Took some feedback to heart and added a layer of mortar to the older side of Yelena's floor.

Here it is feshly poured!

When all's said and done, both sides should be pretty close in color and appearance.

Making polymer clay peas to make bags of frozen peas for everyone but especially Kate.
