Cloudy Quartz and Igneous Rock

Cloudy and Igneous were raised in a cult and they are raising they're children in the same cult. Put into an arranged marriage because of their similar cutiemarks, they have no real feelings for each other. They are a bit obsessed with having the perfect child. After Onyx's imprisonment they have three more children in quick succession. When each of those children fail them, they decide to have one final child in hopes that maybe this time they will be blessed with the child they are hoping for. Instead their final child is born cursed and they give up on their dream.

The cult they are in worships a twisted version of the Elements of Harmony. They are in a hierarchy as follows:

Honesty-Always tell the truth. This is the only way trust can be maintained.

Loyalty-Be loyal to the church and your family above all else. Do not betray them for any reason.

Generosity-Do not hoard your wealth. Give it freely to the church and those around you.

Kindness-Help those around you who follow the church. For nonbelievers, help them if possible but do not break any rules.

Joy-Follow the previous Elements and Joy should come naturally.

Onyx Quartz (Tw: Sexual Assault)

Onyx Quartz is the eldest child of Cloudy and Igneous Quartz. As a child she was raised very close to the "church" their parents attended. Onyx did their best to uphold the churches values, eventually catching the eye of the religious leader. The Stallion began paying her special attention, giving Onyx gifts, asking their family to let them help out at the church more, and teaching her how to be a good faithful mare someday.

One day when Onyx was staying behind after church The Stallion assaulted her. Scared and confused the filly took off, running home. After telling their parents what happened, Igneous and Cloudy shamed their daughter for lying. When they demanded that she go to The Stallion and apologize, Onyx broke down screaming that she was not lying. When her parents are about to leave her to her tantrum, she suddenly lashes out and attacks Cloudy. Their father tears them off of their mother and drags her to the cellar, throwing them down the stairs. Quickly, Igneous shuts the cellar door and rolls a large rock in front of it. He and his wife go into town to tell The Stallion what has just transpired, The Stallion says that Onyx must have been possessed by an evil spirit and that they must not listen to anything their daughter says. The Stallion instructs the parents to keep the child locked in the cellar and bring her food and water every three days.

After a month of this, The Stallion comes to visit. The Stallion tell Onyx that she can come out if she promises never to tell anypony what happened and goes back to staying after church. Onyx, enraged by this, throws an empty glass jar at The Stallion. The jar shattered, cutting The Stallion from the under eye to the jaw. Cloudy and Igneous run in to see what caused The Stallion to yell. The Stallion tells Cloudy and Igneous that Onyx has been cursed and she must stay in the cellar if she has any chance on getting better.

Refusing to stay locked up in the cellar Onyx spends months trying to escape. Eventually they give up trying to get out and start talking to themself to try and stay sane. To their utter shock, something responds. It sounds like a small hissing sound but Onyx can understand it! After looking around for a bit, Onyx eventually finds a star spider. The two start talking, Onyx eventually asking if the spider could get her a brush for her mane and tail. The spider was too small to help her escape but maybe it could help her get stuff. After a few hours the spider comes back with a comb. It wasn't much, but it was a start.

And that's how Onyx got their cutiemark.

Sorry I have been gone for so long, I had a family tragedy. Needed some time to recover. Posts should be more consistent from now on. Next post will be about Cloudy and Igneous Quartz.

Carnelian Quartz

Carnelian is profoundly separate from her family. Almost 10 years younger than Pinkie, her parents had her as a final effort of having the perfect child. Unfortunately, during the pregnancy Inkie and Blinkie fed their mother soup consisting partly of pony remains. It wasn't malicious on Inkie and Blinkie's part, they just wanted the soup to taste better. As such their mother became sick and the baby wasn't getting enough nutrients. A traveling unicorn…doctor named Golden Heart comes around and offers to help. She offers to cast a spell that allows the baby to get the nutrients it needs without changing the diet. Their mother accepts the help and Golden Heart casts the spell.

A little while later Carnelian is born, however she's born wrong. Her teeth are sharp and she's entirely red, including her eyes. While she grows up she is violent and anti social to her peers, preferring to stay around her two older sisters. Her mother and father are neglectful and, while they are emotionally abusive to they're older daughters, are physically abusive to Carnelian.

Inkie and Blinkie are teenagers when Carnelian is in single digits causing a large rift to be formed between them. While that rift may have been healed by baking and all it's precursors, Carnelian holds almost no interest in her older sisters hobbies. She prefers to read while they bake or hunt small animals, injuring them and catching them as many times as possible before finally killing and eating them. As she grows older the more she likes to hunt not just animals but ponies as well, finally joining her sisters in their horrible hobby.

Due to her diet consisting almost entirely of pony meat, Carnelian also begins to separate herself even more from pony kind. She begins to see her sisters and herself as a different species entirely. Except…Her sisters have cutiemarks. Only Ponies can get those, Carnelian remembers reading that. Maybe she just has to wait to get hers and then she’ll even out. She won’t be so hungry all the time. Carnelian discovers at her 18th birthday checkup that she can't get a cutie mark. She is officially something other. Something inpony. Something Hungry. Forever.

Carnelian is very near and dear to my heart. She is my favorite of the bakers I've made/redesigned. My next post will be redoing Minkie's post as it was very short! As always, please tell me what you think!

Spinel 'Pinkie' Pie

Pinkie is the most unstable of the sisters. The first pony Pinkie killed was also her best friend. When she discovered her love of baking, she immediately went to share it with her family. Inkie and Blinkie were enthusiastic and supportive encouraging Pinkie to follow her passion and do her best.

However, her mother and father told Pinkie that it was a waste of of money, supplies, and time so if she was going to do this Pinkie need to be THE best. This pressure from her parents caused her to pour everything into baking; leading to her meeting her best friend Rainey Day.

Rainey's talent is in baking and teas so she is overjoyed to meet Pinkie. The two have a wonderful time baking together and do so frequently, also giving away they're sweets to the townsponies. Sadley, because of her parents pressure to be the best and constant praise of Rainey's baking, Pinkie has a psychotic break and kills Rainey, baking her into a strawberry pie. She serves this pie to her her family and her parents finally praise her own baking. This leads Pinkie to drug and kill one pony a month to use in her baking. Eventually, Pinkie moves away and changes her last name Pie In memory of her dear friend.

Tragically, if Pinkie had not killed Rainey, the baking murders would have never started and the two of them would have moved away together and eventually gotten married.

Longer post this time but my beloved Pinkie deserved it! my next post will be even longer as it will be about my own original pie sister! That's right, there's two in my au! My Minkie post was tragically short, so I will probably redo it soon. As always, please let me know what you think!

Limestone 'Blinkie' Quartz

Blinkie is trans-fem. Being perceived as her father's only son, she wasn't allowed to be feminine at all. Her father forced her to keep her mane short and be very masculine. She rebelled from her father by keeping her tail long and curling the end. Because she was never allowed to indulge in her feminine side, she hates beautiful mares. She views them as being something she could never achieve.

I love Blinkie quite a bit. I think her struggles with femininity is very relatable and her outward aggression is very fun to write. Again, please tell me was you all think!

Marble 'Inkie' Quartz

Inkie is cold and calculating to the world, but much warmer to her sisters and friends. This is less out of love and more because she views them as an extension of herself. Their successes are her successes and their failures are her failures. As such she is sensitive about them, often threatening or lashing out at ponies who criticize or demean them. Inkie is also hard on her sisters specifically to be the best they can be, but she will back off if they tell her too.

She got her cutie mark because she is incredibly good at finding gemstones. However, due to her parents beliefs, she had to hide her talent.

Onyx Quartz

Onyx is my redesign of Minkie Pie. Unlike Minkie, Onyx's cutie mark is a spider web and spider. Rather than give up and accept being locked away forever, she befriended the spiders in the cellar and used them to access the outside world.
