“You’re the most BORING person I’ve ever met -- you know that, right?”

Haven occupies the chair much in the same way a PILE of spaghetti might occupy a teacup saucer: awkwardly, ungracefully, and without any regard for what is and isn’t orthodox. She’s draped a leg over one arm of the chair, the other leg TUCKED underneath her while the rest of her body is supported by the other arm. It doesn’t look like a comfortable position but it would never compare to the discomfort of sitting with both feet on the floor, y’know, like a NORMAL person. In any case, she’s still focused on watching him fire off yet another Very Important Email™.

“Listen, you keep working like this, one day you’re gonna wind up old and DECREPIT and wondering why you spent all your time on the ‘rise and grind’ and not the ‘chill and unwind’.”

“ – Yeah, I get that a lot, ” he tells her, sifting through piles of unclaimed paperwork that he shuffles into folders into other folders and into a metal filing cabinet full of more folders. “ And it’s not going to get to me because I don’t mind it. There’s truth to it. Yes, what I do is boring and yes I might be boring but that’s because I have a very stable job. It literally has its roots in the American ground. ” He knows it won’t click in her head that maybe some people liked the daily routine of existence and payroll, but it didn’t hurt to try and make sense of it. Curt sends his very important email and pivots in his chair to face her.
