disabled ppl we need to start lying to nosy people okay? you tell me i'm too young to need a cane and i will tell you point blank that maybe you should tell that to the guy who ran me over. you don't get an explanation of my health issues you get lies and depending on how much of an asshole i want to be that lie will be anything from a humble car crash to a 1 billion lions attack. mind yr business.

"i could never live like that" well maybe you'll have to because this happened overnight. yeah you heard me i was the most able bodied man in the world but then one morning bam i woke up disabled. yeah you could have that too. there's no cure either you'll just wake up one morning and now you have to live like me

"what happened" well have you ever seen looney tunes? yeah an anvil landed on me and squished me flat.

Not related to my disabilities but I started telling people that I was attacked by an alligator that launched out of the sewer while I was walking my dog when asked what happened to my ankle for me to need surgery.

I just got tired of explaining in a string of "surgery–>ruptured 2 ligaments, sprained 2 tendons, bruised 2 bones (222 appreciation)–>yes I know a traditional sprain doesn't need surgery but I did–>because I completely destroyed my ligaments, there wasn't enough left over for it to heal by itself hence surgery–>went to jog across the street and landed on the curb instead of the road and rolled it pretty badly, but the injury was worse than initially believed (x-ray didn't show any breaks or fractures so obviously there was no need for an mri!) so when I came out of the boot I rolled it again, this time actually on flat ground, and destroyed it–>yes I know that wouldn't normally result in such a severe injury but it did because here we are, one surgery involving four incisions for an arthroscopic debridement, 8-12 holes drilled into my bones for the ligament repair and anchors, swivelock, pushlock, internal braces, and a tapestry later."

It's just quicker to say I had surgery because a sewer alligator destroyed my ankle. I find it confuses people too much to ask numerous follow up questions.

Maybe I’ve been working MORE THAN double as hard for MY WHOLE LIFE and it’s led me to immense burnout & caused me to develop several MORE disabilities!! Maybe I should be ACCOMMODATED so I don’t have to KILL MY BODY AND BRAIN over trying to do what abled people can do!! Maybe I DON’T have to work double as hard!! Maybe if there’s the option to let me NOT work double as hard, I should have it, because I’m already working double as hard JUST TO SURVIVE!!

thinking so hard about percy’s single mother era... him taking nico under his wing and trying his best to look out for him yes yes yes but also nico mouthing off to him and percy reprimanding him and calling after him “that mouth of yours is gonna get you into trouble!!” and then just pausing for a second and reflecting before nodding and sighing heavily to himself and muttering “i need to apologize to my mother.”

12 year old percy being an absolute savage is my favorite thing ever. i mean just look at him go. found out he was a demigod last week and he's already cussing out Zeus. became a national fugitive around 2 hours into his first quest, blew up a bus and a national monument a day later. improvised water magic with zero tutoring. just randomly defied the laws of magic by escaping the Lotus Casino in record time. found out he could breathe underwater completely on accident. Bribed literal Charon into letting him into the Underworld illegally by stacking drachmas on his counter true new yorker style. mailed medusa's decapitated head to the gods in a show of spite, and when they mailed it back in a "let's just pat the aggressive child on the head" kind of action it took him a grand total of 5 seconds to immediately go "omg i can finally MURDER my fucking STEPDAD!!!! :D". absolute lunatic that child was, we love him
