You wonder why Scorpio is a water sign when scorpions are land animals. The answer lies in the origins of these creatures when the Earth was not as old yet as now. Scorpions were once sea creatures that swam around in the ancient oceans. Even though they live on land now, Earth never forgets where they came from. Metaphorically speaking, crabs and fish still live in water so they are much in tune with their ocean of emotions. The scorpions left the oceans and live their lives up high and dry on land. A rough desert hardens their emotions a little but transforms them into survivors of the dangerous and deadly. But never forget that they are still made of water and came from the seas.
