Hey there!
My name is Sophie Newell. My dad, Wheatley, is the best DJ in upper Michigan. I’m already managing his website, so I figured, why not start a blog? My mom will undoubtedly be watching this blog, so keep your questions parent safe please!

Hey there!
My name is Sophie Newell. My dad, Wheatley, is the best DJ in upper Michigan. I’m already managing his website, so I figured, why not start a blog? My mom will undoubtedly be watching this blog, so keep your questions parent safe please!
Literally can't stop thinking about how the north of Gaza had run out of food, even the food meant for animals, even that had run out
I can't stop thinking about the face of the child, 4 or 5 years old, naively smiling and gathering leaves in a plastic bag to take home not knowing they are inedible
Hind Khoudari mentioned yesterday that when aid trucks finally got into the north, Israel had shot the people who were standing in line in the head
People are losing weight and look visibly weak. What the hell are we witnessing?
what was the first media that you can consciously remember scaring the piss out of you and giving you nightmares (examples listed are specific to me I was a cowardly ass child)
horror movie you should not have been watching aged fucking eleven (the shining)
horror show your uncle let you watch (buffy, x files)
legitimate children's horror (goosebumps, etc)
adult horror comedy (Beetlejuice, little shop of horrors, etc)
kid show parody horror episode (hash slinging slasher)
"scary" scene from an adventure movie (Jumanji, princess bride, Indiana jones)
I could see why a kid would be scared of that (monsters from sesame Street)
weird commercial that made you scared
not remotely scary comedy (look who's talking, osmosis Jones, etc)
your best friend's older brother's vague description of a horror movie he watche
other/show results
This....thing.
And it ended on a cliffhanger too!
Oh my god I remember this!
I honestly think it scared dad more than it did me.
You know what would be really great?
If everyone following me ATUALLY asked me questions!
How old are you, Sophie? You still in grade school?
I'm 16 years old, but Eaden doesn't really have a high school. All the kids share one building.
Anniversary
Hey y’all, today’s the anniversary of the day my mom first came to Eaden. Unfortunately, a bunch of other stuff happened today as well, so she could use some cheering up. Any ideas?
“Punching the ever-loving science…”
A long-sorta-promised piece of illustration for my pal User 724 over on fanfic.net for their work “Generational Science”. No idea what the schoolyard in Eaden would look like, so I took some liberties. For some reason I just pictured kids meeting in a repurposed barn with a grassy yard outside for recess.
If you’re looking for something to read set in the Blue Sky universe, you should definitely give it a go!
I still consider this one of my best moments.
Wasn’t I such an adorable little hellion?
Asks are still open
You know this blog can’t have content without questions, right?
i think my saddest moment as an Australian was finding out that the rest of the world doesn’t say “never eat soggy weetbix” to figure out the order of the compass
Put in the tags where you’re from and how you memorized the order of the compass
I just memorized which way North and East were.
I'm from Michigan, but I don't think that's how most people here learn it.
Do you have a favourite song you ask your dad to play a lot?
My mom used to sing me a lullaby, but she made it up, so dad can't play that. I like the one song they played on the cups in Pitch Perfect. https://youtu.be/cmSbXsFE3l8
Happy Fourth of July everyone! Dad offered to help with the fireworks, but thankfully Aaron declined.
How're you feeling, Sophie? Unrelated but what's your favorite music genres?
I’m doing great. When you live in Michigan, every day of Summer is a miracle.
As for music, I don’t really have a favorite, but my dad hates jazz, so I play that a lot. >:)
(Incidentally, my dad’s favorite song is “Mr. Blue Sky” by ELO. I’m 110% sick of it, so I guess we’re even.)
Do you dye your hair to match your mom's color, or do you just not like being blonde because of the stereotype? Or is it an aesthetic thing?
I dyed it on impulse when I was 8 because I was being bullied. Now I keep it up because I want to look more like mom.
