Decided that Paris was the perfect place to rep some Dickinson red!

Hello! It’s usually around this time of year that I post a picture of me standing on Morgan Field with the beautiful Allison Hall in the background. I’ve taken a picture every year I’ve been at Dickinson to somewhat mirror the picture that I took when I visited Dickinson in 2014. However, this spring, I happen to be in Denmark for my semester abroad. So, I had to change up my background and my posing a bit :) Hope you guys don’t mind the change in scenery...

Well isn’t Dickinson looking photogenic?
Rumor has it that if you step on the seal you won’t graduate in four years...so I jumped over it :)
The other day, I got the best surprise ever: a care package from my Danish host family! It included a Christmas card, some salt licorice, and so many tiny Danish flags. Most Americans have never heard of salt licorice, so it's been hilarious watching my friends try it for the first time. - Ellen '17
Can’t believe the first time I stood here was in February 2014 during my junior year of high school and now it’s 2017 and I’m a sophomore! See any change over time? I see I’m still short :)

Enjoy the little things...
I walked into my quad in Morgan Hall ten minutes ago and was met with the sound of my roommate playing her ukulele. I’ve known her for a year, we have never roomed together before and musical ability has never been a main focus of our conversations so it was to my utmost surprise and pleasure to walk in to the calming sound that all ukuleles tend to capture. Ukuleles are kind of like puppies. They just cause happiness. It’s curious to think about when I would have found out that one of my roommates plays the ukulele if only I had decided to walk back from the library at a different time. Glad I walked in when I did because now I can request ukulele homework breaks :)

Last week I had the opportunity to present my summer internship at Dickinson's intern showcase. The Career Center did an awesome job supporting me through my internship, including giving me a grant that made an unpaid position possible. I highly recommend them as a resource in your internship and job searches! -Jackie Goodwin '17
Fun shoes and fun friends make for a pretty good night at Midway Bowling. Thanks MOB for setting us up with two hours of free bowling!

The Peddler has started serving cold brew this semester and it's quickly becoming our most popular drink, for good reason. I know where I'll be getting my work done in the morning this semester! - Ellen '17
Ventured to the farm on Saturday for a little farm frolicking. I don’t know why but fruit just tastes better when it’s freshly picked and you’re outside chilling in an adirondack chair :)Â

First week back complete. Pretty unbelievable that i’m a senior. I’m living in the Music House with two of my dear friends also heavily involved in the Music Department here.
Speaking of music, my band played Pizza on the Plaza Friday! Cannot get enough of farm pizza.
To another great week

I’m proud to be entering my last year at Dickinson and would like to congratulate all my fellow members of the graduating class of 2017-we’ve made it so far since those first steps on Dickinson’s campus, years ago. It’s been a spectacular ride and I can’t wait to see what we do together. Welcome Back everyone!Â

My fabulous summer as an intern at the Sandwich Children’s Center is over. I love these kids and my colleagues and will miss them dearly. Despite a lot of goodbyes, I’m excited to get back to Dickinson and eat mac & cheese at the Back Door Cafe!

I can’t believe summer is coming to an end. I’ve had some pretty great views, but I can’t wait to get back to those red adirondack chairs.

I definitely miss Dickinson and my friends, but every summer I get to come to this beautiful place. On the days I have off from my internship at a children’s center, I hike to views like this!

After recuperating from finals and already my fourth semester of college (what is happening), I finally left my house this week. My mom and I took a trip to Soldiers' Home, the national cemetery for soldiers and airmen. Across the street is a retirement home for veterans, a recently opened charter school, and President Lincoln's summer cottage where he lived periodically instead of the white house! It's incredibly beautiful and peaceful - I totally recommend it for DC visitors. A surprise was in the visiting center, where I found a dickinson professor on the video reel talking about Abraham Lincoln's life, significance, stance on emancipation and more. Super cool to literally see dson professors out in the field! - Ashley '18
