During the Soviet era, all consumer merchandise and printed goods were manufactured exclusively by state-owned publishing houses and printing companies. Because independent "fan-made" merchandise or unauthorized commercial printing did not legally exist in the USSR, any mass-produced pocket calendar like this 1981 nu pogodi calendar was a fully authorized, official release!

So it's very likely official. I recommend double checking what i'm saying though

this image is from ukrainian shopping site(?) and its still availble to buy!! till 29 july though...

so like...if this is an official merch...does it mean creators really imply Volk and Zayats feel love to each other?? this is so random like who got an idea to put Volk and Zayats getting married on a calendar LOL

i want to check this calendar more, who produced it etc, i think i will ask the seller for more pictures, since i doubt i can buy it, i need account on this site with an ukrainian number:-( also dont know if shipping is availble

here are some polish covers of russian language learning books which have Volk and Zayats on them

its hard for me to find pdfs of all of the books, i only found the last one, but there wasnt any Nu Pogodi mentioned inside, it was only used for a cover. but i really want to know how the pages look on the other books but i will need to search for it more...or maybe buy the books?? im curious if there is any other art of these two!

i kinda adore this specific artstyle which looks like a bootleg art with very bright colors, it really suits 80's-90's eastern europe

I've loved Nu Pogodi since I was a small little fart and this cartoon along with Svetozar Rusakov, an art director, are one of my greatest inspirations when it comes to my artstyle, right next to Rebecca Sugar, and since I love Sonic so much why not combine my two fixations together then lol
