I have for once in my life come up with a joke that people tell me is good. The problem is it’s only intelligible to people who know pjsk, Spanish, and Ecuadorian geography
When I was younger and researching the autism diagnosis criteria and symptoms, I thought “oh I couldn’t POSSIBLY be autistic.” Because when I read “takes everything literally” I thought it literally meant EVERYTHING and I was like “I don’t take EVERYTHING literally, just most things!” And I just realized the other day that it didn’t actually mean EVERYTHING and that was an overstatement.
I think 20mil on your first time is amazing and incredible, and t200 Akito Chapter without experience is even more amazing. That chapter was brutal, and I can honestly say i could not have done that for my first tier
I feel like I’m not that much more experienced. I have a few t500+ titles, and this was only my second time on leaderboard
I’ll answer some of your questions about what the run was like, so maybe others who happen to see this can grow too
Most of my points (the 70mil) were made on Toya chapter. I had two rateups and a really good support team. I just really like Toya 💙
Time-wise I played a 5-hour start dash then 12-14 hours each day. I played mostly on x7 when I had a lower goal, but when I decided to shoot for 72mil I played on x10 the last day. The rest of my points were from Akito chapter (7mil) playing whenever I could (got t1k), and then I played Anhane just enough to get to 83mil and then a little bit more on Kohane to keep t50
Ive been in pjsk discord servers since September 2023, and I cannot overstate the difference that makes for tiering. In pjsk servers it is easy to find dedicated players willing to play only songs good for tiering, who won’t purposely disband, and who will quickly menu through the results screen to make the time between rounds as short as possible. You get more event points per song and you get them faster. I also had a hosted run for Toya chapter, which means people were scheduled to play with me for all of my hours, which was an added boost
As for my hands, some people handle it better. I’m a wimp about it, but it wasn’t as bad as my first t100. My left hand finally stopped occasionally tinging after 5 days 😭
And thanks for the friend request in-game. I was secretly hoping someone would friend request me for my kagepro theme. I too wish we had a vbs Kagerou Daze cover. Outer Science when?
They HAVE to add outer science at some point, it's been requested so much. I don't know why it's not in yet... Also for the friend request ofc!! I always keep an eye out for kagepro usernames. My usual username is deceiving eyes and a few people have recognized it and it's always SO fun to get a request mentioning it :]
Also aaa thank you that's very nice :) I'm pretty happy with what I ended up getting, but wow yeah preparation will make a big difference! I didn't have any of the rateup cards (which was on purpose, i didn't want to try for them. especially right after sanrio 😭) and my support team was pretty ok tho wow nowhere near yours. That's just about every toya cards one can have, theres only two 4 stars not on there right?? that's AWESOME! You worked insanely hard for this you absolutely deserved your spot in the ranks :]
Gonna keep rambling about stuff so I'll put it under a read more lol <-ended up writing a whole summary of the entire 3 days of the akito chapter
Yeah so while 'getting a pretty high rank in the akito WL chapter' had been a plan for a bit, I didn't have a clear goal in mind and I was not going to go for something TOO high. Just whatever I could get with the amount of work I was willing to put in.
Like, I know playing with other people who are also tiering or helping you tier helps a lot but! I am a big ol coward. So I was always going to do it alone (well, a friend did join me at times. hi benny. thanks benny. but having two players out of five doesn't change much lol).
DID know that I was going to try to play as much as I could during my free time. Messed up on the kanade chapter earlier, I was aiming for T1000, but i started rushing it way too late and could not get anywhere near it. Might try and avenge her by getting T500 in the next niigo WL...
Team was thankfully pretty good for being f2p and not exactly focusing on vbs more than other units or anything (but i do play daily). Akito was my best support team by far which was convenient considering he was the one I was actively going to put effort in. Shoutout to diversity hire mafuyu card.
^ Btw shoutout to me for somehow calculating what bonus I was going to have for him a month in advance. Why did I do that.
Anyway. I did get ready how I could. Raised that Akito card's skill to level 4. No one else's tho, I don't have the materials for that. Also got everyone's area decorations up, got to lvl 15 during the event (who woulda thunk tiering gives you that many coins). That includes Mafuyu.
I did start actually playing half an hour late without meaning to, made it up by playing for 2 hours after that at least. And using 10 energy per song from the start, since I have a Lot of those saved up.
^ chat he doesn't know
I would've played for longer of course, but I had school the next day. Which is another reason I didn't think I could get anything too good. That and the fact that I was already exhausted from school lol, not having anything like school for a few years and then going back will do that to you. But anyway at least his chapter happened to mostly be on the weekend.
By the end of school I was in the 800s, but I thought I would be wayy lower than that. Played for most of the evening until I started falling asleep while sitting. Don't do this. At least I'd planned ahead and made sure to not hurt my hand by playing mostly on hard difficulty. I play with thumbs. I'm not getting carpal tunnel despite what my title said. Up to 310 by the time I went to sleep. Absolutely mesmerized by how little your rank moves when you're that high up.
Started playing again a solid 12 hours later, at rank 444. I didn't want to get up <3
^ chat he doesn't know
Played for a while, mostly without sound because i kept having to have my phone plugged in. Honestly surprisingly easy to do so on hard. Went to sleep at rank 213.
Back up another 12 hours later at rank 245
Playing while laying down was not my best idea because I did in fact keep almost nodding off. NOT FUN. Don't do that. I didn't take the nap tho. I'd caught hubris. I had to try for 200 even if i knew damn well i could not make it there. By 5 pm I has to start picking hitorinbo envy.
I started freaking myself out sooo badly in the last 2 hours
I was at exactly 200 for.. well the entire last hour I believe.
I didn't look at my rank even once in that last 40 minutes.
I still have no idea how i went up 11/12 places in that last 40 minutes. I know it wasn't through points so either a bunch of people got removed from the ranks, or the live rankings are way off.
But anwyay,
I did end up getting my 200. AND I didn't even hurt my hands. All i really did was get exhausted but then seeing my final rank still gave me the energy to stay up for two more hours. Yay!
So like, could I have done better? Yeah, of course. Would I? No. Like I said I'm way satisfied with this. Trying to find other players to play with would scare the hell out of me and I'm never spending money on a gacha game. And anyway I have other things to do. I have to go make a whole kagepro themed custom profile. I'm very bad at making custom profiles. But I have to.
And to my friends reading this if one day I start talking about getting T100 for anything, you have to put me down before I can even try.
It’s really fun hearing people’s tiering experiences, but you don’t see it much
A couple of things I’ll say
I totally get fear of going online. If you change your mind, everyone is chill and it’d be fun to play together sometime
What’s important is: your final rank reflects the time and effort you put in. That’s very great, and I’m still in awe you got t200 on the most comp world link chapter to date. Huge props to you
As for your final rank, honestly end dashes are like that. I’ve not heard of players getting kicked off the rankings—it just doesn’t happen very often, if ever—so most likely that x10 hitorinbo paid off. Normally they say never x10 for anything less than a t20 run (if even that), but if you’ve got boatloads of resources and nothing to lose, especially in a comp finale, why not go for it? I sure did during my t1k akito end dash lol (overshot to t656 oops—but I was determined not to play last hour so I could have freedom before the Toya mines so I gladly overspent for the gap). It’s also possible some people quit in those final moments or ran themselves dry. It could also be the quick restarting instead of breaking to look at rank also made the difference. Either way, it’s yours fair and square. Otsu!
Hope to run into you in coop or maybe on discord one day (final comment: puppykito is the best discord pfp)

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.
and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.
there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't think anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.
i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.
