Yui Nagashima

my works I often make works that represented lines of demarcation consciously. For exampl, over there and here, the other world and this world, child and adult, male and female, and then Japanese and foreigner. I am also a ”border man” that's why I conscious a line of demarcation. My mother tongue is Japanese, but my nationality was not Japanese. My surroundings said you're here, you're over there. Gradually, I've considered about a line of demarcation and point of harmony. Besides the matter of nationality, entering girls' school is the beginning of considering sexuality. I go deeply into a line of demarcation and some points of harmony that anyone cannot put into words. This is my motive of works.

「死生観」という言葉の成り立ちを探り、「生死観」と語を改めて、自身の生死観を絵画で表現する。

たまねぎのむいてもむいても中身のない空虚さやリボンが解けていく様を自分自身の死に対する考え方と結びつけた。
