Patience
by Subhajit
If I could wear patience
like a coat in winter,
maybe the cold would stop
cutting through my skin.
They once said —
"wait, all good things bloom in silence."
But silence
has teeth.
And I've bled enough waiting.
I sit by the window.
The night sky doesn’t blink.
No stars. Just
a wide black hush
like the answer I never got.
Patiently, I see your eyes—
they remind me of
these dark skies at night.
I close my eyes,
not to sleep,
but to relive:
your touch,
your vow,
your leaving.
Still I wait.
Not strong, not wise,
just a fool
with nothing left
but patience
and the echo of
you.
