The first of a series of video diaries about my novel Subject #3 where I get a little candid, talk a lot of essentiallys (no that’s not meant to be a typo), stammer and might have some questionable word use.

It’s been a while, but I have decided to do something to get you into the mind of the process of making this novel.
First character reveal of Subject #3, the central character of the book:Â 24-year-old Nara Gates. Â A struggling resident of Rochester, New York who has the habit of putting other needs above her own, even while she is struggling to pay off her rent, her debts, and working a degrading job at a retro themed restaurant.
Her whole world however is challenged when she meets across a child, who literally falls into her life...
First teaser for the main protagonist of my novel.
More details coming soon.
What to know about "Subject #3"
-The first in a planned science-fiction series (No guarantees though if it doesn’t take off as I think it would).
-Takes place primarily in a not-too-distant future version of my home city of Rochester, New York as well as in neighborhoods I have grown up in.
-Can be considered a science gone wrong story, though I am actively trying to make sure the message isn’t anti-science. I yearn to try tell something that is a little more complex than that. Let’s just say nailing down the tone is one thing I’m definitely going to need an editor for.
-This is a more adult oriented tale, so expect a bit of violence and foul language. In spite of a child being one of the main focuses of the story, I’m not making this for kids.
-Little to no romance. Whilst there may be romantic elements they won’t be the main focus, instead the primary focus is a motherly bond that develops between the main female protagonist and a child then how it is going to affect the world.
-Primary Platform: Digital distribution via Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, and other outlets.
 Plans for Crowdfunding:
-Hiring a professional editor and illustrator. The former primarily to help develop the story to be as strong as it can be, whilst the latter someone that could help me nail down the pulp feeling on the cover.
-Being able to make print copies of the book albeit in limited supply to begin with, both in hardcover and softcover variants. Also plan on signature editions as incentives for donators but I haven’t quite figured out how to work that out if I won’t be able to get print copies made.
-Incentive ideas: Being listed as a Special Thanks at the end of the novel, free digital copies of the novel, name-drops in the story itself, a wallpaper version of the cover for desktops and tablets.
Yeah still working out everything, any advice anyone has is definitely welcome.

Got any questions for me about my life, reply or message me, I may do a future V-Log about it.
Reblogged here.
Hello, Fluffyman here and welcome to the official Tumblr blog for my in-development novel Subject #3.  This blog will be devoted to keeping people up-to-date about the development of my novel, including story details and more information about the upcoming crowd-funding campaign.  I will also be posting some information to my LiveJournal and Manic-Expression in the future as well, and reblog on my main Callingouthaters Tumblr.
What is Subject #3?
It’s going to be a Pulp Science Fiction novel put through a real-life lens, things that would happen in a pulp sci-fi novel witnessed by someone who lives very much in an everyday world.  The girl above in the illustration is the main protagonist of the story who lives an ordinary life in an impoverished Rochester, New York (My home city), whilst the child below her is someone from an experiment gone wrong.  The story is centered around the bond that they will share, a maternal sort of bond which may have dire consequences for the world at large.
